We’ve been to AJ’s twice this year. It’s your basic diner, with a basic diner menu. Both visits for us have been for breakfast. The servings are hearty and the food is really good, but nothing fancy. On our first visit, we ordered a veggie omelette and a 3-cheese omelette and shared them. Both were delicious and piping hot, with a large serving of home fries on the side and an orange slice. They’re also served with toast, but we didn’t bother as there was no gluten-free option(which we prefer). Regardless, it was TONS of food and I wasn’t even able to finish it despite having no toast. On our second visit, I had the omelette special, with a little bit of everything in it and again it was a HUGE serving which I couldn’t finish and it was delicious. My husband had steak and eggs and his was a hearty serving too. He couldn’t even look at food until around 8pm that night, which shows you what a huge amount of protein he had. The servers are very friendly and efficient and the restaurant is clean, as are the washrooms. As diners go, I’d say this is definitely one of the better ones and if we’re in the Waterdown area again, looking for breakfast we’ll most likely return.

Our family does Saturday morning breakfast here 2 times a month. We love it. The food is excellent and affordable. The staff is great. Highly recommend AJ’s. It has become a family tradition.

Not good at all !!! I order the eggs Benny I made sure I asked the server that the eggs be pouched soft, the whole meal was terrible the potatoes were under cooked and tasted raw the eggs were done hard and the benny sauce was disgusting it tasted like mayonnaise. I had one bite of the potatoes and one bite of the eggs and the server asked if everything was ok, I said I didn’t like it, and she asked if I would like something else(the only thing they did right) I said I would try to eat it but after only one more small bite I just couldn’t do it. She came around again and I said I’m sorry but I can’t eat this it is not good at all and I’ve lost my appetite from it, she took it away and another server came around and said we have sold many of these today and they all liked it, I can tell you that is not good costumer service basically saying I’m full of it for not liking there terrible meal. she also said they have there Benny sauce bought in for some other supplier and they don’t make it in house OMG no wonder it was terrible what kind of all day breafast place that declare they specialize in all day breafast would ever think of bring in a Benny sauce from some supplier. This is not the worst part of my experience when they brought me our bill they had the nerve to charge me half price for a meal I didnt eat and sent back because it was terrible, I had to ask the server why they didn’t take the meal off of my bill completely she said WELLYOUDIDORDERIT. And said I can send the owner over if you want it was his decision. I told her don’t worry about it you can tell him he can keep the 5 dollars and he just lost a customer. I have to tell you I have been in the f&b industy for 20 something years and what went on in this place is totally unheard of and would never happen at any other legitimate place If your not happy with a meal and send it back and decide you don’t want a replacement meal it would always in any other establishment ACCEPT for Aj’s come 100% off the bill this place is just a joke. I guess they don’t care about there customers to allow that to go on. I hope the $ 5 he received for that meal that Bought him this nice review was worth it for him.

Brand new place! Just opened this weekend. Had breakfast Sunday. Solid meal front to back. Eggs over-hard cooked perfect with no chewy edges. Fat juicy sausages the biggest I’ve seen in a diner, anywhere, ever. Good homefries(though could use a little more seasoning), and toasted toast the way toasted toast should look: toasted. They serve Jiff Peanut Butter too! So good. No complaints whatsoever. The slightly slowish service, I am sure, is borne simply from the fact that the place JUST opened — they’re simply ironing out a few of the kinks. The prices are right on the mark — three breakfasts and a clubhouse sandwich, coffees for me and the wife, milks for our sons, $ 38.00. If you’re in or around the Waterdown area, and you’re looking for a quick sandwich, burger, waffle, or all-day breakfast — definitely check out AJ’s Grill. You won’t be disappointed.
