I’ve driven by this place hundreds of times, but never thought to stop in until last night after a long drive from Waterloo when the«hangries» were starting to strike. I had the mezze for two… which was a perfect meal for one. The two salads on my plate(taboule and tomato & feta salad) were light, fresh, and flavourful! The hummus could have used a little more of a garlicky kick to it, but its silky texture was amazing. I rounded out my mezze plate with the spicy olive tapenade — and it lives up to its name! It was a bit too spicy for me, but my mom loved it. What I also really liked about this place is the ambiance — it felt more authentically Mediterranean than some of the other restaurants in town.

This place is seriously good and I’m not sure why it’s not busier than it is. It’s my go-to place to meet for business lunches because it’s quiet enough to talk(sadly for the owners; I wish it wasn’t quiet enough for business lunches). Everything is made in-house(I’ve confirmed with the chef). Their falafels, I’m just going to lay it on the line here, are the BEST ever. Seriously. Soft, fluffy and tender on the inside. Crunchy on the outside. Most restaurants’ falafels are dense and a tad dry. Not these. These are so good. I crave their falafels when I think of falafels. The chef verified that these are made from soaked dry chickpeas rather than canned peas as most other places do. Mmm. So good. Their baba ghanoush is yummy and flavourful. Their salad dressing is tangy and delicious. Their lamb is scrumptious. Their chicken shawarma is succulent. Everything is so good here. You cannot go wrong.

Great Mediterranean food. Nelson shows his love of cooking by being a hands on owner. Coming from the Los Angeles area we eat this type of food often and know delicious Mediterranean food when we eat it. Please give The Raging Olive a go. You won’t be sorry.
