Disappointed as I heard good things. Went in for wing night. Wings tasted like the meat was old and the poutine was too soggy.

We’ve driven past this pub a gazillion times and never really saw it until I noticed the good Unilocal reviews. So we decided to give it a try. Brilliant decision, if I say so myself. Per the recommendations of other Unilocalers, I ordered the 40 Creek burger with a veggie patty(hold the bacon). Another great decision! The home-made patty is really tasty, and the fried onions and barbecue sauce on this burger are fantastic. One disappointment: after seeing comments here about the great onion rings, we were really looking forward to trying them, but apparently they are no longer on the menu. Regardless, my daughter had the fish and chips(she said it was really good), with what tasted like home-made tartar sauce. The portions are nice and large. Since then, we’ve gone back a few times. I can’t stop ordering the same 40 Creek veggie burger(mmm… that sauce!) but I’ve also had the caesar salad and mashed potatoes. Everything tastes«home-made fresh». The service is friendly and attentive. The food is good. There’s no reason not to go back!

Now known as Squires Pub Mr. Handsome and I were looking to grab a burger and pint before making the almost 2 hr drive home when we happened upon Squires, there was a gentleman outside having a smoke so I asked him if he liked the food here… Oh, the food is excellent and I suggest you try their burgers he says! well, alright then. They were fantastic, I had the Canadian and hubs had the Forty Creek both were so juicy and flavourful and the fries were absolutely perfect! This establishment was clean, bright and the staff were so friendly and helpful that I wish we lived closer. We were about 30 minutes away when it was discovered that Mr. had left his hat behind –a really nice hat– I immediately called and they put the hat aside for me, called the next day and spoke with manager Kelly and offered to pay for courier service to pick it up, she said nah, don’t bother I’ll just mail it to you. This was last Sunday the 17th of April, it arrived safe and sound today! I’m so impressed with them for this. Excellent food AND customer service cannot be underestimated

A favourite place for a casual dinner out during the week. They have delicious food, cannot think of one thing we tried that we did not like. The serving sizes are huge though, so be prepared to take half of your food home with you! Prices are pretty reasonable considering you get two meals out of a burger!

Came in to watch the Man United match. It’s now just called«The Squire»(public house). A number of TV’s though they’re all virtually medium size. I forget the name of the burger I ordered, but it’s the most prominent one on the menu and has battered shoestring onions with bacon and a house bbq sauce. Good all around and really nice bun — though it was a tad on the large side. Nice, fresh cut fries too. Worth checking out again when I’m back in GTA’s westernmost city.

Now known as Squires. Rebranding of sorts. Same menu though… which is a good thing. Mill Street 100th Meridian on tap! Yeah! A Burlington bar with more then just Mill Street Organic on tap… Best veggie burger in Burlington hands down. Not a soy Patty or a portobello mushroom, but a Patty made of of rice and chick peas. It was good enough to fool two carnivores at the table. Ask to substitute this patty in the 40 creek burger… you will not miss the beef. Indian food is really good, better then most pubs. Rice needs work though. Should be more fluffy… buy a rice cooker or use less water. Manchurian pasta satisfies the health nut in our group. Manager is very attentive. Wait staff is good. Patio is underrated. Surprisingly quiet considering near a busy intersection. Kids eat free Saturday’s means reasonable value in Burlington.

My favourite restaurant in Burlington! Why?!! Because the Shepherds Pie is amazing, great selection of beers, excellent service, and it’s not in pretentious downtown Burlington.

The best pub in Burlington! Delicious burgers, home made veggie burgers, calamari and Greek salad, turkey wrap — nothing disappoints. Consistently above average food, friendly atmosphere and good service. Highly recommend!

Whenever my lunch group on Friday is looking for some great comfort food with a couple of pints we come here. Ye Olde Squire, has the traditional pub experience(lots of wood accents, fireplace, servers in Kilts). The restaurant has a good layout and lots of comforatable seating indoors and outside on the their patio. The food is typical pub fare, burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips and some english/indian favorties as well(Bangers and Mash, Steak and Mushroom pie, curry dishes). I especially like the fish and chips here. Large beer battered portions of fish in either the 1 piece or 2 piece options. The taste is excellent and the cuts of haddock are perfect. The service is also good on all the times that we have been there and if there was any issue they would fix it promptly. A good 3.5 stars, but since we can’t give .5 i’ll give it a 4

I was in a couple days ago for my usual 40 Creek burger and fries. The burger was delicious as usual. The fries were problematic. Limp with a slightly off flavour. They go through this problem every year near the end of summer. Last summer I complained about the quality of fries to the server and the manager and they brought out a fresh order. The fresh order had the exact same problems of taste and texture. I surmised that their fry oil probably needed to be changed and the manager stated that it wasn’t a problem with the oil — it was a problem with old potatoes. Apparently when potatoes get old, more of the starch converts to sugar and you get a subpar fry with a limp texture and off flavour. This is what the manager told me anyway. Sure enough I went back a few weeks later when, presumably, the autumn potato crop was available and the fries were back to the same excellent quality. I didn’t bother complaining this time because what could they do, right? So I ate all my burger and a few of my fries and it was okay. For once I wasn’t crazy stuffed so it was probably a good thing to have subpar fries there every once and a while. I’m sure in September their fries will be back to their usual perfection. If you’re a new customer to Ye Olde, don’t judge the quality of their fries right now. Wait until autumn. Trust me.

This location used to be a Jack Astor’s years ago. The only thing that could be considering negative is that it’s a little hard to make a left out of the drive onto Fairview and that’s about it. This place has excellent service and food. As far as pub food goes this is one of the better ones I know of if not the best. The portions are very generous, especially the fish and chips in which they have a choice of haddock(1 or 2 pieces) or halibut(single pce). They have other English staples like bangers and mash, curry etc but I’m very partial to the fish and chips. Seriously the serving is so large I have to use a side plate to put my other piece of fish on the side just so I can properly dress the fries with malt and eat without anything falling off the plate. This place is able to handle groups as well. We’ve only eaten out doors once during nice weather but in the winter it’s nice if you get a table close to the fireplace in the middle of the dining area. There are plenty of TVs to be able to see what ever game is going on etc.

Drove past this location a few times while working in the area, decided to bring the wife here for a date night and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The staff were friendly, fast and efficient. The food was top notch pub food. Meatloaf was A+, the wings were A+ and the poutine was A+. They even poured a Guinness properly, such a rare thing to happen these days. I’d recommend this establishment to anyone and I intent to return and bring more people. Best random decision of my life regarding where to eat.

Very friendly and courteous staff. Excellent quality food on the mains, but I’d say skip the fries and go for another side though. I’d go here again for sure. Great value, service, and quality.

A good, honest British pub. The staff is always friendly, the food is good value, they have a decent selection of beer on tap and a good patio to boot. We go here for lunch about once a week and have seldom been disappointed. My only reservation is that it is a bit large inside which gives it a bit of an impersonal feel. Nothing major, just a minor complaint.
