Came here for dinner on Saturday night around 8pm. It was extremely busy and the wait for a table was about 30 minutes. Now, this wouldn’t be a problem for us but as we took a quick peek into the lounge and dining area, there were about 4 – 5 open tables. 45 minutes later, we are seated AFTER a group of 4 that came after us. Not too happy. After sitting, we ordered a couple appetizers and our dinner. The appetizers came out in a timely manner, took about 10 minutes to cook. The entrees on the other hand, those took waaaaaaay longer than expected. Once our food reached the table, I took a bite of my mash which was cold. Our server promptly replaced my mash with a hot batch. I ordered a steak and it was cooked to perfection. Service here is still very good but the seating system and food times need a bit of help. Other then that, avoid this location on Saturday nights if possible.

Came here on a Friday night for dinner and drinks(party of 3) and there was a bit of a wait which was fine. There was a good amount of seating at the front, and it is heated a bit if you’re right at the doors outside. We only had to wait about 15 minutes and all the hostesses at the front were very good about keeping us updated on tables opening up etc. We got seated and our server was very quick to come over and take our drink orders. Besides a few beers and a regular tequila and ginger ale, I also ordered the Pimm’s Cup cocktail which has Pimm’s no. 1, ginger ale, fresh lime, mint, cucumber, and strawberries. It was really really good, but just not enough alcohol content for my liking. But still, really tasty. Food: Chicken lettuce wraps(2 out of 5 stars) — It was tasty, but the sauce is just a little too overwhelming for me. It was a tad on the salty side, and could’ve done with a little less marinade/sauce. It’s also not made like a typical lettuce wrap where the meat is diced/minced, but rather served in larger slices. The two sauces it came with weren’t very good either. It’s also pretty spicy, so if you’re sensitive to spice I’d stay away from this dish. I was only able to eat about ¼ of the plate. French fries– I mean, fries are fries but I’m happy they had no problem making them well-done for me. Nothing is worse than a soggy fry in my opinion, so I appreciate that they did that for me. I just wish it came with a bit more condiments to match the proportion of fries they give you. Overall, our server was very attentive and never let our waters run out. She was always coming over to make sure we had everything we needed. They also let us change one of the tv screens to play the Sharks game(sorry, LA!) without a fuss. Everything was reasonably priced for the amount/quality of food you get, the free wifi is another plus, and I love the fact that they have«exotic floor flushers» and very private stalls in the bathroom. Oh! And the DJ didn’t play shit music either. *thumbs up* I usually don’t like franchised restaurants, but they’re definitely doing it right.

Cactus Club Café(Market Crossing Location) Date Visited: 03.29.2016 Will Return: Yes Price: $$$ Was in the area and wanted to try out this place because a lot of people told me that it was pretty good so we went… Cranberry Juice(5⁄5) Recommend: Yes Nice and refreshing! Calamari(4⁄5) Recommend: Yes I like this version a lot better it was very crispy and had a lot of flavour to it, It came with two dipping sauces one is a sour cream sauce and the second was a lemon sort of sauce but both sauces tasted really good! Tuna Tataki(5⁄5) Recommend: Yes I really like the flavour on this dish nice and refreshing tuna great on a hot spring day! I also like the oranges and avocado on the bottom. Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings(4⁄5) Recommend: Yes Flavours were really good and fried perfectly but the wings were just a bit dry… Thai Red Curry Pacific Lingcod(4⁄5) Recommend: Yes Nice and flavourful sauce has green peas and coconut almond rice on the bottom, the fish was a little but dry but still very nice! Key Lime Pie(3⁄5) Recommend: Maybe Very nice lime flavour but it was too sour… I understand that its made with lime but I thought it could be more sweeter. Service was pretty good! Food was pretty worth the price, I will come back in the future! Food:(4⁄5) Service:(4⁄5) Atmosphere:(4⁄5) Overall:(4⁄5)

Thought I’ve had enough of CCC recently but guess what, here I am again on Easter Monday. I shall shamelessly blame the nearby shopping outlets for drawing us to this location. Even though it was really balmy, the patio’s closed. Happy hour drinks were great, but there weren’t any hh-priced food items on the menu(Kingsway does). So we proceeded to share a wings appy and a Kobe meatballs with spaghettini, which was surprisingly heavy on truffle oil. Lounge seating’s good, parking plentiful, and our server’s both cool AND hot.

The atmosphere and ambiance is phenomenal. The manager stayed updated and she had also greeted and walked myself the hostess, personally to the table and checked in end of our group dinner. Loved how attentive they are. She made sure I had been satisfied and everything turned out just about on point. Overall it had been a busy night. Our server must of been quite busy since it took awhile to place our orders which we didn’t mind much as we were all catching up. Food was good. Came out as everyone had asked and served at the same time. I would defiantly come to this cactus again for another night.

Too loud. Wow. Club is right. We called ahead to see if it was child friendly. They said yes. We ditched our reservation after standing in the lobby. There is no way you can have a conversation while eating. Maybe they expect you to text your dinner guests? I won’t be back.

Absolutely terrible place to have lunch… atmosphere was nothing but noise, no view, high prices and poor food quality. There was very little meat in my burger, I would say the two slices of pickles were larger than the meat patty and I hate my lettuce all chopped up into tiny pieces and for 16 bucks I would have expected at least a whole piece of lettuce. Coffee was bitter. Both burger were cold and yet it took forever to get our food since the kitchen screwed up by cooking our neighbouring table’s food first and they got their food before us even though they came in much later. Will not be eating here again. I would give it a zero star if I could. The service was just ok, nothing special.

Had a great ‘customer first’ experience here the other night. Ordered the garden burger and it came with a brioche bun instead of a regular burger bun. Personally, I’m not too keen on them. I mentioned to the waitress(Deseree) who gave me other options, but I decided to stick with the brioche bun. It was a very nice burger, even though it did taste a little sweet for my tastes because of the bun. I finished my burger and the manager came to our table, apologized because the menu doesn’t state what kind of bun comes with the burger and offered my meal for free! What a great surprise! I hadn’t complained, but merely commented on the bun. What fantastic customer service from both the team and manager. Thanks Cactus Club and your wonderful team!

I’m not too sure how long the wait was to get a table but the food and drinks definitely took a lot longer than expected to come out. Our server probably asked us once how our food was. My group were very confused to who our server really was. The service was mediocre at best. To make matters worse, our server had to leave later on in the evening and she said another server would come by. Someone randomly popped up but no intro was made to who she was and/or that she would be helping us further. I got the Ravioli + Prawn Trio and it was delicious! I wasn’t too hungry so I didn’t get the entrée option. I also got yam fries to munch on with my drinks and I would have to say they weren’t too good. Some of the fries were undercooked and they weren’t salted very well. Their choice of dipping was tartar sauce I believe. I would have much rather they had a Chipotle mayo instead. They also messed up on one of our group members burger order by bringing out the wrong burger and also forgetting to omit mushrooms as requested. I didn’t care for the Sangria I got too much. It was average and a ton of seeds at the bottom. Pardon my French but what the fuck? I’ve never had this issue with any other Sangrias that I have tried. I may be biased but I just couldn’t enjoy my drink. I also got the Nothing but Pink. Fantastic drink! Would definitely recommend to people like me who don’t drink often and are just getting into alcohol. Would I come back? Maybe.

This is definitively the best Cactus Club of the several I frequent. Fast service, great food. It’s a consistently good dining experience.

Cactus club is a fine establishment that has plenty to offer with something to enjoy for everyone. I’d like to mention that the staff here have been friendly and prompt. The moment you enter, the door is held open for you with a warm greeting. I ordered their«SPAGHETTINI + KOBESTYLEMEATBALLS» and was very satisfied. The entire dish was succulent filled with flavours in each bite. You get what you expect, if you expect to have a tasty meal that is overpriced then cactus certainly delivers.

I want to not like Cactus Club because it’s a franchised restaurant and because my favorite pasta there is pricey at $ 25 and small in quantity. But I can’t help loving Cactus Club because their Bellinis are the best. Their service is always pretty good. My favorite pasta, the Butternut Squash Ravioli is found there. And their Peanut Butter Crunch Bar is amazing. Chef Rob Feenie is a genius and I’m a huge fan. The last time we were there, we were told it would be a 45 minute wait, but that we could grab any seat that was open in the bar side if something opened up, but that it was full. We waited and they offered to seat us a high top, which was not even near the dining area. It felt like it was in the server/hallway area and we were freezing every time the entrance door was opened. I decided to look for another seat myself, and found that the heated patio area was open seating as well, and there were about four tables open. What? The hostesses need to do a better job of seating, instead of making people wait unnecessarily. When we sat in the patio, our server was amazing. So friendly and helpful! Even though I just ordered a Bellini and a Peanut Butter Crunch Bar, she was very accommodating and positive, instead of being annoyed that we weren’t spending a lot. I do wish they would change up their menu a bit, maybe add a seasonal menu?

A local favourite for a workday lunch and a weekend meal. This restaurant has the advantage of being the only trendy restaurant in south east Burnaby. They recently add more tables in their expanded their patio space, but the wait during busy hours are still pretty significant. The food of course is excellent as one can expect from a standard Cactus Club. My favourite is always the BBQ Duck Clubhouse sandwich!

I would like to give them a 3.5, they are the average franchised restaurant. The food is alright, but don’t expect anything to blow you away — delicious. The server and hostesses are nice. I ordered the fish tacos with a drink called«the Brazilian». I really did enjoy the drink with my food. The tacos however were your average soft served taco with beer battered fried fish. The service was fast and friendly

I haven’t been to cactus since high school and was pleasantly surprised at how modern this location was. The solarium(their patio area) was heated and covered and provided a view of the fountain in front. We were there with a large group and our waitress was very attentive. A few orders came out late and my filet mignon went from medium rare to medium well when it arrived. They offered me another steak and the manager came by to comp the plate. The food was good, as well as the service. My boyfriend had the duck chicken club, the bread was a bit sweet with the cranberries for me, but overall it was a good sandwich. Their prices have gone more upscale along with the décor so plan to pay accordingly.

Decent food. Just don’t come here for lunch. It takes 45 minutes for a table and your business meeting will be blown, time wasted waiting while valley girls remind you 10 times just how long you will be waiting. No longer a place I will bring clients. Ever.

Just your normal run-of-the-mill chain restaurant. I’ve been to cactus a million times and I’m not blown away by their food, but I have to say… being seated in the patio section at the Byrne location changed my previous perceptions about this restaurant. It felt like being on vacation… 50% because of the weather but also because of the set up. You have to go check it out to see what I mean! I had the sangria which was absolutely delicious… the muddled berries were the selling point for me. The flat bread that I ordered was a little bit too soft for my liking… maybe I was expecting it to be just a tad bit crispier? I felt like it was missing a bit of a kick… I probably wouldn’t order it again. Overall, I think I’ll come back just to hang out on the patio again on a sunny late afternoon :)

— — — — — — — – We had a very large group of about 14 people. For a cutting edge looking restaurant, with a combination of tables, a bar and booths, I didn’t think we would fit. But, there was the magic of having two booths back-to-back that fit us all. It was all good. A round of premium martinis or «dirty vegas»(fresh strawberries, vodka, lemon and mazzetti white, finished with some black pepper) or «wu-tangtini»(lychee liqueur, smirnoff vodka and cranberry juice) to start off our night. Diet-coke for the designated drivers. These were tasty drinks. Gluten-friendly food was on their menu along with burgers, steaks, fresh greens and mains. I had the short rib sandwich — caramelized onions, beef jus and cheese on toasted sourdough. This was actually pretty good for $ 15-sh CDN. By bro had the butternut squash and prawn raviolli– the few little squares of raviolli looked great but looked too light for him, but it did turn out to be filling. The others had a variety of food, from burgers to other forms of meat. Most thought the food good and well presented. Since we all wanted to gain weight, we finished the night with chocolate peanut butter crunch bars(tahitian vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and crunchy chocolate pearls), key lime pies and 4 me, chocolate lava cake(dark chocolate cake with tahitian vanilla ice cream). Yuuuumiieee. I thought that restaurant was trendy; food middle-of-the-road; the waitresses were all very shiek/nice looking and friendly in a down2earth way. They seemed sincere to the point of offering and giving us a bucket of warm water for the baby’s milk bottle(yes we start our kids socializing early).
