Amazing eggs Benny. I had the Greek eggs Benny and it was really good. Definitely recommend this one, it can be pretty busy, but with all good brunch places, it’s worth the wait!

To make a long story short, they lost my order slip. BUT I didn’t even really know this at first. I had a gargantuan kink in my neck and wasn’t completely straight in the head.(Kind of panicked and emergency chiro appt followed). They came to me, told me that the order slip blew away when someone opened the door and comp’d my meal. I insisted to pay, they wouldn’t accept. I insisted a generous tip, they wouldn’t accept. BRAVO for integrity… My Eggs Benny was delicious also. Will be back, but had to let people know about this cozy little café. Cheers!

Cozmos is the place to go when you want to have a casual brunch with a couple girls over mimosas. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon with a couple friends. It wasn’t empty but had a good amount of people eating. I got seated right away, which was nice. I ordered the Standard with poached eggs and bacon, which is one of my favourites. I absolutely love their hashbrowns! They are seasoned bitesized potato cubes. They taste great dipped in ketchup or in egg yolk! The food came at a good time and we were definitely satisfied with the portions given. All in all, I love this place! Neighbourhood favourite for sure. I will be returning!

With all the great reviews on Unilocal I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately we must have came on the worst possible day and time. We came in for brunch at around 1:50pm on a Sunday and the place was packed. The two waitresses on the floor and behind the bar mostly ignored our existence at the door waiting for a seat for at least 10 – 15 minutes and we only got a seat after a bus-girl that was bringing in clean forks and knives from the dishwasher saw us and cleared an empty table for us. Maybe we were supposed to seat ourselves but I never saw a sign saying so. After being sat down, I start noticing that there were a few tables that either were waiting for their food to come or had their food cleared and was waiting for the bill. It wasn’t till the table behind us flagged one of the waitresses down and asked if they could order did I realize that all the tables I saw food-empty didn’t even have their orders taken down. After taking 3 tables of orders before us, we finally flagged down one of the waitresses to take our order. After the order taking it was another 45 minutes of waiting before we got our order. Apparently they only have one cook inside the kitchen serving food for a restaurant with approximately 10 tables! When we finally received our food, it didn’t matter to us if it tasted good or bad. We just gobbled it down and left saying we’ll never be back here unless we wanted to wait more than a hr for food.

I’ve only been here three times so far, but I find myself looking for excuses to end up in their neck of the woods. A friend from the area suggested we go there for a really late dinner after work, as she’s a fan of their Greek poutine. Though I’m hardly a connoisseur of poutine, I’d consider this the best I’ve had so far. The pulled lamb was tender and flavorful, the feta was a nice, sharp contrast to the mild and I can only assume homemade from scratch gravy, and the curly fries were quite good. I polished the entire large portion off in one sitting. The other night I found myself there alone and hungry, and decided to have the chicken and lamb souvlaki dinner. I’ve had the souvlaki from several places along Davie and Denman and they’re good– however this was the best I’ve had outside of Greece. The food takes a little bit to get to you, but I suspect it’s because they make it to order, and it shows in the quality. Both the chicken and lamb were moist and tender on the inside, ever so slightly charred and caramelized on the outside, and beautiful when dipped in the tzaziki; the potatoes were tender without being mushy, and just lemony enough to refresh your palate, the rice was fluffy and mild and delightful; the cucumbers and tomato in the salad were crisp, sweet and fresh, the feta was just the right amount so as not to overpower the rest, and even the onion was onion-y without making my eyes water. Again, I ended up eating the entire thing in one sitting and got a piece of baklava to go… which was eaten on the bus ride home. The only complaint I have is the prices seem a little steep compared to what I’m used to, but it’s definitely not enough to keep me away. This is a place I’ll go out of my way for when I want good Greek food.

In the land of restaurants«preparing» food, it is refreshing and delightful to find a place that still puts in the effort to cook their food from scratch. I’ve been waiting awhile to write this review. Maybe too long, but I really, really, REALLY like it here, and I wanted to make sure I LOVED it before I gave it a rave. I’m about ready to get down on one knee and propose to Juanita in the hopes that I will forever have access to the gloriousness that is Cozmos Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. I’m sure her husband and I can work something out. Anyway… Cozmos is a fantastic small place on the corner of a busy street that Mr. J and i have driven by dozens of times without even seeing… and then Skip The Dishes happened. We ordered takeout from them and it arrived super fast because the restaurant is just down the street from our house. For Greek-ish takeout we were astonished. The calimari was crispy, the vegetables in our salads were all extremely fresh, and the lamb was just deliciously well done… not over cooked, not stringy… just juicy and amazing. There were no leftovers. So about a week later we decided to go there for breakfast. Mr. J had an Italian eggs Benedict special and I had an omlete(It is the last one on the list and it has artichokes in it, but I’m not sure what the name is) and it was fantastic. My omelet was light and fluffy and steaming hot. It came with a side of sliced oranges, toast, and homemade hash browns. Mr. J’s benny was covered in thick creamy holondaise that wasn’t overwhelming and didn’t drip off of his fork. We’ve been back about 4 – 5 times now and have sampled their Calamari Caesar salad, lamb, chicken, and a growing assortment of their breakfast items. Each one has come to us hot, fresh, beautifully presented, and with lots of sass and smiles. Did I mention that every staff member is a treasure? Juanita is funny, sweet, and honest. If you ask for her opinion on something she’ll tell you exactly whether or not she likes it. She’s always happy to see us and when we bring the kids, she’s magic with them. She makes us want to get to know the place better, to be regulars there, and to be able to say«we’ve been going here for years, its our place». The only thing you’re missing is the best breakfast you’ve ever had.

The eggs Benedict are excellent, and the workers are happy to check ingredients for any allergies or dietary restrictions. Good food for decent value in Burnaby(highly recommended as a hangover breakfast spot).

Really great brunch! The pulled lamb Benny special is amazing. Breakfast potatoes are super crispy. It’s an affordable, family run place, so the service is a little slow, but well worth it.

This place is fantastic, they have great staff and serve a variety of foods. My favourite so far is anything on the breakfast menu. If going for lunch I get the falafel burger and it is delicious, if you’re having a cheat meal go for the fries, you won’t be disappointed.

We enjoyed a solid brunch meal here. We ordered the daily special benny which was an Italian benny(prosciutto and capocollo) and a club panini sandwich(turkey, lettuce and tomato) and soup combo(daily soup was turkey barley). Service was great! Staff gave us menus right away and were able to answer our questions. Server checked up on us during our meal. Food took awhile to arrive but that way okay as the place was somewhat busy. Food tasted great. The benny had a perfectly cooked runny egg as requested. The side of potato was well seasoned. The panini was nicely grilled. There was a decent amount of filling in the sandwich. The soup was good. There was plenty of barley in the soup. It could have used a bit more turkey. Overall, good breakfast option if you are in the area. Service was good. Staff was friendly. The sweets that were on display looked very tempting but I was too full. I might need to stop by for another visit just to try them with a cup of coffee.

Cozmos is one of my favourite places to go for breakfast. Their paninis are really good too if you are in that neighbourhood during the afternoon. It’s not the biggest place but how does the saying go? «Quality not quantity.» The décor inside is very tasteful, the atmosphere is relaxing. I have not had one bad experience while eating here. I have recommended this place to many people who all say the same thing.

I have gone there a few times now for brunch. The prices are reasonable, the food tastes great, and the staff is really nice. I would recommend this place for sure. And if you do go get the brownie, it’s delicious and made fresh.

New owners are very friendly. Food is amazing! Eggs Benny probably one of the best, coffee is delish, souvlaki is juicy and tasty, falafel burger is homemade and is probably one of the best falafel burger s I have ever had and the curly fries are addicting! The menu is expansive and the price, atmosphere and quality is superb. Gotta try it!

Fresh and delicious! When I told the friendly waitress how good and fresh the food tasted she said it was because all food is made to order and nothing is pre done or pre cooked. This is apparent when you taste the food and rare to find In restaurants these days. Brunch on the weekend is exceptional, eggs Benny are phenomenal. If you haven’t checked this place out yet, I suggest you do. Amazing curly fries and the bocconcini baguette is to die for. It’s under new ownership and the new staff is friendly and happy to be there. Highly recommend!

Again tough Unilocalers, but new ownership took over, don’t know exactly when but now they’re catering to casual diners too. Lunch usually is their peak time as they generally close early at the early part of the week. Located on the corner of Sperling & Hastings. Known for their burgers, that have no fillers/preservatives and made fresh right there, along with their biscotti’s too. Goes down well with their iced caramel coffee drink ;) Nice booth seating in the back, and though it looks a bit higher-end.casual dining, still a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Lots of free parking beside, as there’s a bus stop in front. definitely date-worthy.

A bit on the pricey side. 7.99 for a tuna sandwhich. come on. 13.00 for a little souvlaki. No. Thanks anyway. You can find the same stuff for much cheaper.

In search of a breakfast place close to home, I’d been itching to try Cozmos for quite awhile. This weekend I finally found myself in town with no plans on Sunday morning and decided it was time to give it a whirl. Needless to say, I was left feeling a little let down. I’ve heard good things about the food here, but my meal was nothing to get excited about. My panini didn’t taste fresh, the bread was toasted and a bit warm to the touch, but the middle was completely cold and the cheese wasn’t even beginning to melt. It felt as if the panini was pre-pressed and just thrown back on for a couple of seconds before it was brought to the table. My cup of soup wasn’t bad, but it didn’t have that homemade flavor I’d hoped for. My husband’s eggs were ok, but the hollandaise on his Florentine was obviously not made in house. I have a real issue with restaurants serving packaged hollandaise, especially on a $ 12 breakfast plate that only came with the eggs Florentine and a smattering of potatoes. On the upside, the pastry items which i did not indulge in this time looked amazing and the drinks coming from the coffee bar smelled fantastic. Plus they are licensed with nice prices for their pints and wines. The atmosphere is nice with lots of little tables nestled along the wall and a back patio for outdoor dining. I will definitely give this little spot a try again, perhaps just for a drink and a treat.
