I was in the mall and didn’t have time to wash my own hair later for an event so I decide to randomly come in here for a wash n trim. My hair was really long (the way I like it and very healthy ((I don’t dye it or straighten it etc)). We had consulted on cutting off 4 inches max and I showed her a picture of how I wanted the layers put in my hair. Was quite simple but in the end she gave me a very different haircut and cut 8 inches off! I’m not even exaggerating. She worked super fast and didn’t do a thorough job. And on top of it all… the haircut doesn’t look like the picture. The first layer in the picture started at the chin and she didn’t do that. I re showed her the photo and asked her to correct this and she only did it on one side and refused to do it on the other side!!! She gave me a different haircut then I asked and much shorter!

I wasn’t too sure about this place since I had a bad experience with one of the other Metrotown hair salons before and paid a ridiculous amount of money for a cut that almost made no difference ($ 50?)… But this one amazed me! My stylist was Minahe, from Ontario/​Ottawa, and she was the friendliest stylist I’ve ever met! Ellie also helped a bit with highlights. I’m definitely coming back; it was about $ 55 for highlights, cut, and style! 10⁄10 for service!

I love Mastercuts. Well this stylist named Jane mostly. I happened to become her client through my bf because he wanted to get a quick haircut before a dance performance and she took the time to really find out what he needed. She has this genuine friendliness about her that many people lack, I just fell in love her service!
Yesterday, I got a cut and colour by her and it turned out better than I expected. I’ve always had boring brown hair and I finally tried a red! I was so scared but she made sure I knew my options and even gave great suggestions such as highlights with the red. I love love love my hair now and I’ve been getting compliments as well. Jane is just so good at her job and friendly as well! I totally recommend her!
Hope you don’t let a few bad comments from others about this place change your mind about trying this salon! They’re fast, friendly and professional people :)

I was terrified of cutting off almost 2 feet of hair. Ellie, the stylist took her time to figure out a cut that would work for me. Since I never had short hair before, I had no idea what I wanted. She cut away with confidence, and left me with a look that I love. With the very reasonable Mastercuts price of $ 20, I was please to leave a big tip.

I just came home from getting my hair cut and coloured by Jen. She did a fantastic job! She listened to what I wanted my hair style to be and executed it with exact precision. Jen was friendly and she explained exactly what she was doing step by step. She made me feel comfortable and welcomed. But beyond that she gave me the exact cut I wanted!
The staff is friendly and the prices are great.
I highly recommend Master Cuts over other salons (especially in the mall) that are over priced. My bill was actually lower than the quoted price! She was extremely fair. Great place!

I don’t get my hair cut here. This has actually become the main place I go for my brows. They have awesome stylists that always get it just right. I’m very picky about my brows and they’ve got it down pat. No other place has managed that.
The only reason I didn’t give a higher rating is because I’ve never actually had my hair done here so I feel I can only rate it for what I know.
BONUS: When you have anything done at this place, you can then buy any hair product or stuff in their salon for 30% off. Oddly I find this nice treat to be a vanishing thing. Glad someone keeps it up. :)
As far as Alan K.‘s experience, I don’t know who he saw but I go there frequently and have never seen the lady he described.

I love this hair salon!!!
I came here after getting the most horrible haircut in the world at some place in Lougheed Town Centre. They had 3 girls work on my hair to fix it (yes it was that bad!) and it looked amazing afterwards!!!
I have been a loyal customer ever since (going on 2 years now).
With the exception of one haircut I got there (she was a new girl and didn’t know exactly how I wanted my hair done, miscommunication on my part as well), every girl working there has done an amazing job on my hair!
They also have very good prices and a huge selection of products. I would recommend them to anyone in the Burnaby area looking for a well priced, well done style.
