My bff treat-lunch galore… i love this restaurant but too bad its no longer excist — not sure if they move somewhere else… the idea of grilling foods on a stone right on tour table is very brilliant, you can talk, do some selfie while waiting for your foods… neat place to eat… decors are western type, service is excellent, noise level low, all cards ok and family place friendly… wash room is immaculately clean… food quality fresh and very good… a bit pricey but worth.

The nastiest restaurant I have ever been to. Gross food, rude staff, got our drinks after asking servers 3 times, and our waters never arrived. Seriously people, save yourselves the headache & money… you can find better food served by civilized people with manners for much cheaper @ McDonald’s.

What a unorganized mess. Service was absolutely horrible, I got seated into a corner triangle table near the bar and was forgotten about. No drink order nothing. And they want you to pay steakhouse prices for no service? Forget this place and go somewhere where they have more than one waitress that is serving the whole restaurant and the front of house at the same time… I’d be amazed if they stay in business. Oh I’ll add to the review… Two other groups walked out shortly after I did. Telling people walking down the hallway to don’t bother.

Had eggs Benedict and it was awesome and we were served by the worlds most efficient waitress: Skye. We’ll done!

This is the WORST restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life. I wish I could give a negative star rating. I came here for lunch after shopping in Metrotown. The restaurant was practically empty, only about 4 of the 30 tables were occupied. My friend and I sat down and ordered our food. Mistake #1: After 1.5HOURS of waiting, my friend and I were about to walk out of the place, however the waitress appeared and said that the kitchen forgot to cook our order and that it would just be a few minutes longer. I’m surprised that a kitchen cooking for only 4 tables could have made an error like this. Mistake #2: When they finally brought our food to the table, I was disappointed to discover that they had gotten my order wrong(a completely different meal was brought to me). When I notified the waitress of this, she offered no apology and simply said«well this meal tastes better than the one you ordered.» Mistake #3: The food was really not good. The burger was gray and totally bland. I actually couldn’t even eat it despite the fact that I was starving after waiting for so long. When I politely discussed this with the waitress, her solution was to take $ 2 off my bill(the cost of my coke) when she really should have offered to take the cost of my meal. I will never come back to this place. I am kicking myself for not eating at the food court instead. Even Mcdonalds has higher standards than this.

I’ve had a much better experience eating here than anybody else, apparently. None of the dishes available are especially bad or especially good, but it’s probably the best western-style restaurant in the mall. I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way for it, but if you’re in the mall and you want seafood or steak, this is probably your best choice.

Small restaurant. I tried won ton soup and fried rice and both were very underwhelming, another had carbonara, unapealing and not very well spiced or presented. Chicken mozz burger was good. If you come stick with stone food or burgers

I give it a 2.5. It was simply mediocre. The whole experience was pretty plain and boring. The food was good, but wasn’t anything special. The atmosphere is like the food, no character(more of like a diner feel). Also it was expensive. Stone Grill seems like a place you go to eat when you have to settle for it because there is nowhere else to go(which is actually the truth since that’s about all there is in the mall other than the food court .)

My fiancé and I were at Metrotown and decided to have dinner at Stonegrill for the first time. We have previously heard about the unique dining experience where you cook your food on an extremely hot volcanic stone. The pictures looked very appealing and the restaurant itself was quite nice inside. We decided on ordering the Stonegrill dinner for 2 special they were featuring which included AAA Steak, lobster tail, salmon, vegetables and a choice between potato wedges, waffle fries, yam wedges or rice. The dinner special also came with a mushroom cream soup served with garlic bread to start for a total of $ 54. The menu had a variety of options from wings, pastas and salads but we figured we should try the«Stonegrill» items. My fiancé also ordered a «Refreshing Lychee Slush» and I ordered an iced tea. First of all, the lychee slush(as well as ALL the slushes) is made of syrup. No real fruit at all — $ 3.75. My iced tea included free refills which made sense considering it is completely watered down — $ 2.75. We would much rather have had a couple of ice waters. After the drinks, we got our cream of mushroom soup with garlic bread. The consistency of the soup was so thick and tasted exactly like a can of Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup with pepper and some chopped green onion as garnish. The garlic bread looked as if it was store bought and the«garlic butter» was close to tasteless. After our disappointing soups and drinks, our server came with our main course. The first stone had the AAA steak, lobster tail, vegetables and potato wedges with a side of gravy. The second stone had lobster tail, salmon with orange slices, vegetables and white rice. Our server knew it was our first time and explained the whole«Stonegrill» concept — I.e. The stone is very hot, all the poultry/seafood is fresh and cooks in minutes, etc. The steak, salmon and lobster tail had no seasoning or flavour whatsoever — neither did the vegetables that came with. The potato wedges were salted and crispy but c’mon, they’re potato wedges. The white rice was extremely dry and portion was very small. The gravy it came with was very salty and tasted very similar to the powder«add water and stir» gravy packets you buy at Superstore. The lobster and salmon were not fresh but the steak was good. Overall, the only reason I am rating it with 1⁄5 stars is because the concept is interesting, the interior is nice, the staff are friendly and the steak was decent. Everything else was absolutely horrible and extremely disappointing! Our total bill was around $ 67 so definitely WAY overpriced for what it was. I would never recommend anyone to eat here.

How fun! Cooking your meal on a 400 degree lava rock! I had the steak with vegetables and rice and you’d be surprised how a nice cut of meat doesn’t need any sauce or seasoning to be delicious. The whole family went in for a meal and everyone was satisfied. We had the VIP section(just a room with sliding glass doors to the side of the restaurant) and our server was very attentive. Everyone enjoyed cooking their meat on the rock; the server lets you know how many seconds to cook each side to correspond with rare/medium rare/medium/well etc and off you go. It’s not something you could do all that often, but it’s definitely a good meal experience.

Oh boy… I came here for dinner/drinks after work on a Monday night. I am pretty sure that this used to be a Ricky’s Grill; and, it sure feels like a family restaurant. Everything from the clueless and zoned-out staff to the burnt-to-a-crisp burger to the limited booze menu to the year-old Heinz ketchup bottle that came for the fries(probably a left over bottle from Ricky’s)… This place sucks balls for dinner and drinks; but could be good for breakfast or brunch based on other reviews and the fact that it is basically a re-skinned Denny’s with hot stones — sorry, I meant Ricky’s.

Decided to have brunch here with a friend and while I already had my mind made up that food will be a rip off, it wasn’t too bad. First of all, don’t order the dishes with the stonegrills. It’s overpriced and nothing special. Sure, it comes on a piece of stone and some might like the novelty of it, but it’s not worth it. I ordered the Lobster Benedict and they gave me the Regular Benedict instead. I didn’t realize this until I took a bite of the egg, ham and English muffin. The eggs were runny, English muffin toasted and with a good amount of Hollandaise sauce. I asked the waitress where was the lobster and they realized their mistake and quickly made a new order for me. However, I would skip the lobster next time because the it wasn’t good. The lobster meat was mixed with some sort of flour or potato to form a block. Since conveniently located in Metrotown Mall with free parking and the staff were friendly, I will come back.

Surprised by the negative reviews here. I’ve been a total of seven times in the past three months now, and I’ve yet to have a bad experience in any way. The food is tasty, well-priced and exceptionally quick to receive, and the service is impeccable. I like the ambiance(when it’s quiet — it gets quite packed at dinner time), and they even have a private room to book for small gatherings(up to 12 people — I had to ask). I usually get the same thing when I’m here, and the staff remember me by my order. I can easily get a lovely mushroom burger and yam fries ordered and eaten in less than 20 minutes, and spend less than $ 15 including a hefty tip. Can I see any downsides? Some of the tables are a bit close together, and they only have some of what’s on their wine list available. I saw a chocolate red, and desperately wanted to try it, knowing it would be a dessert wine… was told customers weren’t fans because it’s «too sweet», so they have yet to re-order it. Having said that, another customer sitting at the table next to me once was unhappy with the beer he was given, and the waitress very pleasantly offered him anything else instead — even though he’d finished a good third of his initial drink already. Doubt I’d bring my kids here(just feels too adult to me, I have zero concrete things to show as to why exactly) however when I’m at Metrotown and need something yummy to eat out of the insanity that is the food court, I come here every time.

The saving grace was the service. The host, our server and bartender were friendly folks. The atmosphere was quiet, which is great. The food, the entrée I had ordered anyway, was really bland for $ 18. I do not recommend their seafood alfredo to anyone. The sauce was bland: the shredded cheddar, fried onions and the dill garnish did nothing to elevate it. Also, it tasted like it was thrown together like a salad rather than cooked as a pasta dish. The shrimp and mussels tasted like thawed out RAW seafood. I make a better Alfredo pasta dish than this(and I’m a rookie cook D:).(Had I ordered chicken alfredo, was I going to get the same dish but with thawed breast chicken? Ew.) I would have tried dessert but I expected it to be store-bought. Their alcohol menu is interesting, I’d probably go there for drinks before/after shopping. Double shots. I loved their Mad Mango even though it’s powdered mango slush with alcohol.(But the brain freeze couldn’t make me forget the horrible entrée.) Apparently their bubble tea is made with powder hence their low prices. High prices don’t guarantee good taste. Lesson learned.

Surprised to see so many unhappy and disgusted people, it honestly wasn’t that bad. I’ve come here a few times after or before work and I find it really nice — everything from the ambiance to the food and service is all good. The have a very extensive menu, you have your stonegrills, pasta, bugers, breakfast(before 2:30pm) and much much more. Yes, the stones are expensive but what do you expect eating seafood or steaks? Come on people. If you think it’s expensive, don’t order the Stones. Or just don’t eat out. I’ve said it before and will say it again — we are here to rate the food. I usually come here for quick eats so usually something from the breakfast menu or a burger. I’d recommend the lobster eggs benny, it was surprisingly pretty good! There were nice lobster chunks and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Also, the mushroom swiss burger is nice as well. I don’t think they use a 100% beef patty but it has nice texture and flavor and isn’t overcooked(praise the lord!), served with a nice side salad or waffle cut fries ftw. Appies are ok — don’t really recommend anything in partcular — stay with the entrees and you’ll live to see tomorrow, it really isn’t as bad as everyone says. It’s way cheaper to eat here than 50% of the Food Court food — also you can eat in peace instead of looking around trying to find a table only to find it dirty. A burger with fries for $ 11? Not bad considering that a meal at A&W costs $ 9 already and there isn’t as much meat or anything really. I went to the salad bar place — my measly salad cost $ 15.

2 stars average based on 16 reviews, not surprised to be honest as the place was empty when myself, the guy I am dating, my good friend, his wife and their kid came along. This wasn’t my first choice and in fact skipped it in the past, however, the child in tow«was a picky eater», therefore, we ate here to make polite. There were lots of yummy choices on the menu at decent prices. I stuck with a plain burger with no bun. The meat was decent but needed a lot of BBQ sauce. Everyone else seemed content with their meal. The waitress was really nice. It’s not the best place around Metrotown, however, not the worse as some are posting.

wow, pretty tough Unilocalers here. I just like coming here for the relaxing atmosphere, b/c in the metrotown mall, where else can you sit in a resto & chill? Plus with the natural light coming in thru its big-ass windows, and the nice cozy décor lends itself to date-worthy as long as your date isn’t too picky. My VIP seating is either the central table for 9 ppl or the semi-booth seating in the back. Private room also available too. that sushi/ramen place by the movie theatres is as loud as heck… and then there’s the food court… Not just for cheap breakfast, but the burgers are more than decent too.

One word to describe this place: Gross. The food was bland, tasteless and completely horrid. The service is non-existent. Just don’t do it. Save yourself the trouble and money and just don’t do it. If you check out the Green Apple Green Tea picture I posted, those white flakes floating about? Well, they’re the unmixed apple flavour powder of some sort, but I prefer to think of them as dead souls of unholy disgusting food. Just don’t do it.

Bleh! After having a great experience at milestones, this place did not compare at all. The eggs Benedict was horrendous, and for the same cost too. What was I thinking even coming here to eat. As soon as we walked in, the place was a ghost town. But the server already sat us down, so I would feel bad for getting up and leaving all of a sudden. This restaurant’s name sake tries to fool you into thinking it’s a good place. Usually a place with the name«stone grill» would be decent but I should have clued in with the«at the met» part, but my intuition failed me this time around. Perhaps they are trying to succeed off of the success of the real Stonegrill close to Granville Island. I don’t know. I do know I’m never going to eat here again What happened to Ricky’s? I actually liked Ricky’s! St3Fin
