Express really gets my clothing style and I always find several things when I shop here! The staff is usually very helpful too and quick to get you a different size. My only issue with the store is that their regular prices can be a bit high, so if you don’t get anything on sale you can end up paying quite a bit!

Review #8 of Unilocal’s 30 Day Challenge 2012 I hate to give Express an average rating as I’ve loved Express ever since I bought my first pair of jeans back in 2006. It was probably the most reasonably priced and best fitting pair I’ve purchased ever. Unfortunately, the service in this particular branch of Express isn’t as great as all the other Express shops I’ve visited before. On my first visit, I had to wait about 10 minutes before I could get into a fitting room and there was not a lot of people then. When someone finally came to assist me, he apologized for making me wait and said that they’re really busy. I appreciate that he apologized but there were 6 of them and the only customers at that time were just myself, my husband and another couple. Busy? The second time was at around 8pm(I know they close at 9 that day) and no one was coming to direct me which fitting room I can use so I just went in and tried on some stuff. I needed a different size for one of the shirts I was fitting but no one was around to assist. Walked out of the fitting room and no one was available to assist. Did they close? No they probably just don’t understand that customer service can make or break a sale. Wooosah…*pranayama breathing* now for the good I like that Express has a good variety of clothes from everyday casual to what to wear to work to chic night out/party clothes. If you are looking for basics to fill your closet, Express is a good place check as they have a huge collection of closet must haves — the clothes may look simple/plain but it’s the fit and cut that gets the pieces sold. I particularly love their jeans, the editor cut pants(good shape and very comfortable for the office), their v-neck sweaters, the button shirts(the white one I got lasted 6 years!) and their skirts. My budget shopping may be tight sometimes so I love sales! Luckily Express has a lot of them — the most frequent ones are the buy one get one half off and their coupons($ 10 off $ 30 purchase, $ 60 off $ 120 purchase, etc). Sign up and those offers and coupons are automatically sent to your e-mail.

Given that I have actually been in and shopped in this store multiple times in the last few months I can tell you it’s nothing like le château. Express is from LA. I bought some sweaters there years ago when I visited and loved the store. I was so excited when I walked past Express opening in Chinook. The clothes are expensive but I wait and always buy when they have good sales, which is often. They have lots of sparkly clothes which I like. Also they have kinda three sections of clothes, classier clothes, club or fun clothes and casual/funky. The men’s section is more for metrosexual men which is what the other reviewer was trying to say. The employees remember me there even though I only come once a month or so and they chat with me in a fun but helpful way.

This recently opened unisex clothier is undergoing a major expansion in Calgary, with a Chinook, Southcentre and Market Mall locations opened in the last two months. As with any given recently opened retailer, the customer service is a smother, and the clothing looks to be a fairly approximate copy of Le Château’s nice-but-not-nice dress clothing. Think lots of polyester and lurid colors. Men have little choice but to dress like d’bags. Not my cup of tea, though I am looking forward to their inevitable crap service in a few months.
