What a lovely surprise! We were out on a family day to the Dragon Boat festival, got lost and ended up at this little strip mall(#47 from chinook train station passes right by) We were hungry. So I ventured in — SOMUCHTOCHOOSEFROM! And healthy. So many gluten free options — and they were even accepting gluten free donations for the Food Bank. My husband and I each got the veggie rolls. Delicious! Then theres a huge display of fresh baked treats — really well priced. I got a blondie($ 1.50HUGE) and for my hubby i surprised with turtle($ 1.99) and it was SOGOOD — and you can tell its handmade because it taste of love — and gluten free. Everything was so so good We spent $ 8 and had lunch and desert. Will be back! (also, noticed theres a few bad comments about no where to sit. Im not sure if its new construction but there are 4 benches we parked at)

This bakery is amazing, me and my cousin go here every time she visits, I can’t believe people are posting bad comments. The only thing I would change is that everyone in my family wants to eat inside the store so maybe if they put a table or two in it would make more people happy.

I know this place caters to gluten free mostly, and I don’t need gluten free products, but I appreciate what they do. Unfortunately my step sis who is severely celiac cannot eat anything from here because it has too many parts per million for her immune system. It’s low enough to be considered gluten free, but not low enough for those with severe gluten allergies. So bummer for her, I can’t buy her anything from here. So I just make it at home instead. I come here instead for their gluten free vegan items from Sweets From The Earth. I have asked several times if they make anything without eggs or dairy and it’s a no. So I am just a bit disappointed they only work with the gluten allergy or fad dieters and are not an allergy friendly place. It’s probably because that’s the owners choice. But I would purchase things if they used ground flax seed and water to replace eggs in some of their items and plant milk instead of regular milk. Just some feedback! It’s pretty much got any kind of gluten free item you want though if that’s what you’re looking for.

Wow, I’m actually surprised that this place has gotten numerous five stars. Regarding a previous post about a disgusting gluten free muffin I had, I was informed it came from Lakeview Bakery, and I wasn’t the only person that complained. Being celiac is challenging as it is, so when you try something you have a craving for(in this case it was a gluten free blueberry muffin) and it tastes rancid, you’re pretty disappointed. I took my muffin home to eat, when I warmed it up, it smelled like dirty feet, and the taste wasn’t much better. I tried putting butter on to give it more moisture and that did nothing. It was small, crumbly and terrible. if you want good gluten free baked goods, take the time to drive to Slice Bakery.

As a vegetarian and diagnosed with Celiac Disease Lakeview is accommodative to my lifestyle and offers a large variety of Gluten free breads, pastries and misc stuff. Everything I buy has great consistency and always taste delicious. The staff are friendly, informative of all the products and welcome help if needed. But during busy days they’re usually off the floor and working in the back– you have to ring a service bell for help.

This is a fantastic bakery whether you need to eat gluten free or not. They have lovely treats with gluten and without. Their gluten-free treats are skookum-chuk(and I am not even allergic to gluten). Try the lava cakes and the rum balls… mmmmmm. Oh and the raspberry turnovers(more like a granola-like cookie base than a pastry). It is always a buzzing store on the weekend with at least a few people waiting to get through the line – always a good sign of a great business in my opinion.

Whether you’re a celiac or a diabetic, Lakeview Bakery’s got a tasty cure for whatever ails you, and there’s no compromise on taste. Besides ready-made and bake-yourself products for celiac diets & cakes especially for diabetics, Lakeview also has a wide variety of products for yeast-free and sugar-free diets. But sugar and carb lovers, not to fret — there are plenty of organic pastries to choose from as well. Lakeview bakery is a clean, aromatic, bakery doing business at Lakeview Shopping Centre for the last 20 years, so they must be doing something right! My lady went for an old fashioned oatmeal date cookie, which was about the size of a pizza pop. She dug it. So much so, in fact, that there’s already talk of a return visit in our near future.

I love coming across bakeries that specialize in a certain area, and Lakeview Bakery specializes in… well…a slew of areas. Catering to people with special dietary needs, Lakeview Bakery carries wheat-free, yeast-free, sugar-free, egg-free and low carb options. Celebrating their 20th year of being in business this month, Lakeview Bakery offers our city organic baked goods made from scratch. Not everyone can eat everything at a regular bakery, but at this place, you’ll surely find exactly what you’re looking for. *High Five*

Okay, if you’re heading for this bakery, don’t look for the name ‘Lakeview’ on the outside. Just look for a green sign on top of the building that says ‘Bakery.” It would seem as though the first half of the sign has been broken off, since there’s a tiny bit of the ‘w’ left, which resembles a ‘v’, but no ‘Lakeview.’ Signage aside, this is among the coolest bakeries I’ve been to. It’s more of a grocery store for baked goods. You can buy absolutely everything associated with baking at this place. You can get all different sorts of flour including gluten-free and hazelnut, as well as sugars, spices, extracts, oats, nuts, and other baking necessities. They also have a GIANT assortment of fresh goods ready to leave the store. They bake everything from fresh bread to cinnamon buns, cookies to meringue singles. You can really spend a couple minutes browsing the(small) isles of this bakery. They don’t have super expensive stuff, but the prices are pretty typical of a bakery. Some of their specialty stuff like lemon tarts, raspberry squares and nut-free goods can get pricey, but it’s totally worth it. All the workers in the store really know their stuff. You can ask them any question about any product and they’ll be able to tell you everything about it. It’s nice to know that they are quick to offer a helping hand! Lakeview Bakery, or rather ‘v Bakery’ gets two thumbs up from me! I like the large selection and good people they have!
