I had high hopes coming into this place which quickly vanished when I asked the server about a beer on special that day and she had no idea what type of beer it was nor could she give it any description other than the name. The menu was unremarkable and we ended up ordering some basic pub staples. The wings were terrible. They had no crisp to them yet still managed to be dry. The band playing that night was very good but far too loud. We noticed other tables complain and a couple just coming through the door only made it a few feet in before remarking on the noise and leaving. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place and won’t be coming back.

I went there with a friend for the second time. Both times the service was excellent, and the waitress was friendly and very welcoming. The food is probably the best kept secret in the neighbourhood. There are plenty of bars around this neighbourhood and I have probably visited them all. Dollar for dollar I feel this is the best food for a reasonable price with amazing service. We are hooked. We are now regulars.

Service? What’s that? This pub is in far south of Calgary just off Deer foot trail. Very dark inside with cherrywood everywhere. The requisite tv screens. Well done interior once your eyes adjust. Pints start at $ 6.25 and happy hour starts at 2:00pm. Early afternoon and the place was a third full. Waited for service and it never came so I left. Waitresses didn’t seem too friendly there.

I’ve been here a few times now. It is close to where I live so I’ve given it a few chances in hopes that I’ve caught them on an «off night» or something. Unfortunately, every time I have been the service has been pretty terrible. I am ok to forgive less than stellar service if I can see they are short staffed or the servers are swamped. But if they are condescending with an «I don’t give a ___» attitude, then I am less forgiving. Seeing them chatting on the side of the bar while I am waiting to order, or have been sitting with an empty pint glass for 10+ minutes is rather frustrating as well. The beer is good. Food is «ok»(classic pub food, nothing spectacular). I will not be going back though due to lack of service. I’ve given it more chances than I ever should. I’m better off at the Kilt and Caber, or somewhere else in McKenzie Towne. Closer to me anyway…

The food used to be good but it has gotten cheap and lousy. The room has no real vibe either. Sorry but I’m out. There are way to many good places to go to waste my time and money
