I am not really a drugstore person. I will avoid the stuffiness of walking into such establishments whenever possible because they are always all the same. However, this is not the case with this particular Paragon Pharmacy. The first time I popped by, was because I really wanted to grab a passport application from a post office, so I stumbled on in. However, I stopped short in the aisles when I noticed all the great treats they have! I am going to write you a list of all the awesome goodies I noticed because I am so excited: –Almond Breeze(for very cheap!) –Products by PURE, a Canadian company that does vegan hot chocolate mix, pancake mixes, etc –Sunbutter –Food Should Taste Good, and Boulder Organic Potato Chips, –All the dairy free chocolate(tons of brands, plus the 70% dark chocolate aero and kit kat bars) –Zevia sodas Seriously, the aisles were full of vegan, gluten free, and other goodies free of common allergens. I was quite blown away by all of the awesome going down in here. The staff have also always been ridiculously friendly. Today, I went in to ship a giant package of snacks to a friend. I ended up talking with the postal clerk for about twenty minutes, who then made sure not to cover my doodles on the box, including my exclamation«CAUTION: FRAGILEBOXOFAWESOME.» Upon sending off my box of treats, I then picked up some more almond milk and awesome things. I want this place to be my secret but I also haven’t been excited about anywhere in Calgary for a long time. SOTHEREYOUGOOKAY.

What the hell happened to the Super Drug Marts? Apparently they are all called Paragon Pharmacy now. I don’t know the reason for the change and I also don’t know if I like it or not. I used to use Super Drug Mart as my primary drug store and was shocked to see they no longer have the same name. This new place, Paragon, has a strange, foreign feel to it. I don’t know it well enough to like it yet, but perhaps I’m judging a book by its cover. The new place has mainly green as their colour of choice, as opposed to the red Super Drug Mart used to have. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, in fact, green is probably more pharmaceutically friendly. The new place offers the same prices and service as the old place and probably has its own perks too. I just went in to have a prescription filled and all the people were so friendly, including the pharmacist. They helped me get all my info transferred and had me do minimal work, which was nice. I’m going to give Paragon a chance because of how much I liked Super Drug Mart, but I’m still not happy about the change. It seems like it will do quite well though what with all the renovations and stuff.
