TSM Moving Inc

Save your money if you’re planning a big move and hire a larger company (ie. one of the national or international players).
I used TSM a few years ago for a small move — basically getting things out of storage into a new house. Last week, I moved into a new house — so a much larger move. Since I last used TSM in 2009, their rates have gone from $ 100 an hour to $ 130 — it is not worth it!
They sent 2 movers initially — one was about 5’2″ and I’m amazed he could actually carry anything. They were so slow that they finally had a 3^rd guy show up. There was a lot of messing around, cracking jokes about my belongings (I like to shop, OK? Not really your concern when I’m paying you by the hour!), took frequent smoke breaks (and definitely longer than 15 minutes!).
Moving into a newly-​built house, I was very sensitive about walls getting scuffed, etc. I have to say that they were very careful with everything and didn’t cause any damage to either home or my belongings. But I would have liked to see them be more efficient and work faster to get the move done. I was quoted $ 800, and ended up spending $ 1200 — and to top it off, I cut them short on moving everything out of the house, and we ended up finishing it ourselves. I will not be a repeat customer!
