Union Station Taphouse

Beer has been improved, food still relatively good, service is pretty good too!

A restaurant that would have otherwise deserved a moderate rating is on the bottom of the barrel for me. The Union Station is at the end of my list of places to eat in Marda Loop. In an age of online reviews I don’t understand why managers allow terrible service — particularly after a rebrand.
Our waitress blamed her mistakes on the bartender after a night of neglectful service. She yelled about our table to another group that she had been drinking with that evening while she was on shift. We tipped her about ten per cent despite significant dissension at the table.
We made our case to the manager as we left the building and he assured us that he would address the situation. We declined reimbursement for our meal and left the building. As we walked out the door the waitress walked into the middle of the restaurant, yelled at us, and waved goodbye with her middle finger.
The waitress was still working at Union Station when we returned a few weeks later. I had previously visited this restaurant about six times per month and to the best of my knowledge none of us have returned.

Stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon with a couple of ladies. I forgot that this was where we stopped at and for some reason thought we had stopped at Original Joe’s, so minus 1 star for being unmemorable. Cocktails here are very reasonably priced and refreshing, and their sweet potato fries were nomtastic. I may be biased about that, because sweet potato fries are one of my favorite foods. My friend enjoyed a virgin caesar and their lobster spring rolls. The waitress was friendly and attentive, the music was at an appropriate conversation level and the booth was clean and cozy. Minus one more star for having zero vegetarian options that aren’t either sides or smothered in cheese. A veggie burger on the menu wouldn’t kill you!

People enjoy a memorable meal. I usually do too. But not this time because I will never forget how terrible Union S
