Great corner location in DT. Which means lots of window action seating. While they don’t do actual delivery for corporate orders, they do need one day in advance. Cozy atmosphere, password needed for their wifi. coconut caramel maracon tasty and once in Calgary, i found reasonably priced.

I was looking for a coffee shop with WiFi close to my hotel, and the reviews of other Unilocalers for Urban Bean brought me in. I was thrilled with the pleasant atmosphere, happy barristas and great WiFi connection. This is a busy shop, seeing a lot of work traffic throughout the morning, but I was comfy cozy at the back with a great window view of the bustling street. I didn’t try any treats, but they looked fantastic. If I were a Calgarian, I’d have this place in my regular coffee rotation for sure.

Easy access coffee shop — LRT station right outside the coffee shop. They have a great cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating, pretty quiet during the afternoon, with only a few other tables. Lots of baked goods left to choose from at 3 pm. I went for the lemon cranberry muffin which turned out to be DELICIOUS. One of the best muffins I’ve ever had. Maybe I was super hungry but it was perfect. Sweet but not overly so, not tart at all. And it was moist with some crumb. Medium roast coffee was also good, still tasted fresh, though it was a bit too light for my liking. Maybe I’ll try the bold next time. Also have free wifi!

This is a fave spot for a co-worker and I who have a standing coffee date once a month. It is very clean, the staff are friendly and prompt and there are always mid morning seats available. They have a great selection of muffins… a little more«high end» than you’d get at some other coffee shops. They also have sandwiches and other pastry items. Their prices are reasonable too. My only beef if that it is hard to tell what a lot of their speciality coffee/tea lattes are. They are great at explaining if you ask, but if they are busy and you are shy about asking, you may miss out on trying something new.

This is a great little coffee/snack/lunch place towards the West end of downtown. There is a LRT station right out front(both directions) so it is easy to get to. The coffee is good. Snacks tasty Soups, sandwich’s and salads are all great and fresh daily. The staff are all very friendly! This place blows the ‘place across the street’ out of the water! Make sure to check Urban Bean out, you will be happy you did!

I should preface this by saying I don’t drink coffee, so I’m far from the target customer of this business. I basically just wandered in because I was running WAY early for an appointment one morning and thought I’d grab a muffin for breakfast while I waited. The staff seemed decent enough, but nothing out of the ordinary. The service was very much«by the book» — a quick high, take my order, tell me how much it is, give me my change and a ‘have a nice day’. Nothing to write home about in either respect. The muffin and hot chocolate I got were more of exactly that — same old, same old. You could get pretty much the exact same thing in any coffee shop that’s ever existed. And the prices? Well, they were better than some, but worse than others. Yep, yet another reason that this place failed to make an impression either way. The only things that made me go more positive than negative about this place was the fact that the décor is rather nice, the comination of products gave the whole shop a very pleasent aroma, and(one of my favorite things to see in such an establishment) FREEWIFI! So, if you’re looking for the best tastes and the lowest prices, or even the cheeriest staff? My one experience tells me this is not the place. But if you want a nice relaxing place to sit down with a moderately priced, run of the mill warm beverage while surfing the net? Then ‘Urban Bean’ is a pretty solid choice.

Loved the EBC bagel, bagel wasn’t the typical chewing glutinous oval. Mocha was good. Their lemon cranberry muffin is good, although I think pretty tart, I wish they had Orange Cranberry combo.

A cute and quaint coffee shop just off the river path. Stop in here if you’re taking a stroll along the river.

Was treated to a Hot Chocolate here. Steamy and hot and they even had light whipping cream! Also, I noticed they had flavoured syrups and most of important of all, sugar-free flavoured syrups like Almond. It goes so well with the unsweetened soy milk. Just a couple of splotches in your cup with the unsweetend soy milk — Yumm! — and healthy for you.

Their slogan says it all: «Coffee for the people’. Seriously. Here’s how my day started. I went to the coffee shop ACROSS the street from this one and had potentially one of the WORST experiences I’ve ever had getting a java so I took my money back and came across the street to The Urban Bean. First of all, I was greeted with smiles. Second of all, they said I could use their Internet not only for free, but for as long as I wanted. And third of all, the EXACTSAMEDRINK that I ordered across the street was cheaper here. The Urban Bean Coffee Company is a cute, friendly, HAPPY place to sip your java and get a break from your busy work day. They have DELICIOUS snacks, scrumptious sandwiches and super tasty beverages. What I love most is that the baristas are friendly, happy and helpful people. Plus the music rocks. Right now they’re playing Young MC’s classic ‘Bust A Move’. You know what else I love about my new found favourite coffee joint? It’s CLEAN. This is coming from your local germaphobe, so you can take me at my word. I recommend The Urban Bean to anyone who has had it with pretentious, snooty and unwelcoming coffee cafes. Come to The Urban Bean, enjoy a heart warming beverage and don’t forget to swing by and say hi :)
