After staying at this hotel for 8 consecutive days, I can definitely give a fair review. We stayed in one of the King loft rooms with the jacuzzi tub. The room was somewhat disappointing because the online pictures made it look about 3 times bigger than it really is. It was also a little bit run down. The shower upstairs was the tiniest shower I’ve ever been in. My husband could hardly turn around in it, and the door was very hard to open and shut. After the first day, we decided to do all showering in the tub shower downstairs. Based on these things, I would give the hotel 3 stars; however, because of the OUTSTANDING service provided by Maricar, I’m giving 4 stars. She was unbelievably attentive and friendly. We only had US money, and we needed change to do some laundry. She volunteered to personally exchange our US coins for loonies out of her own wallet because the hotel wasn’t able to exchange it for us. She was exceptional!

This is a nice, mid-range, affordable hotel in Canmore. Decent sized rooms, clean facilities and the location is convenient to Canmore town Center and touristy stuff. In terms of service, the staff were all impeccable. From the front desk to the breakfast room, it was service with a smile all the way. Wifi was free and the signal was good for throughout out 2 night stay. One thing to note is that there is no pool, only an outdoor hot tub. I would absolutely stay here again.

Good hotel. Free parking, easy to find and not far from Banff. Good shopping on the other side of the highway. Not really the hotels fault, but there seemed to be a lot of noisy guests while we were there, including children running up and down the hall screaming late at night.

Over the past year, we have stayed in this hotel at least 4 times between May-August and will be going back again in April. I give it 5⁄5 because it is better than you’d expect and it’s not supposed to be a top end luxury hotel. It does it right for it’s category and exceeded my expectations. The staff are pleasant — though sometimes a bit harder to find when they are not busy at the front desk. The rooms are clean and updated with the features I’ve come to expect from an IHG facility. The Bed are comfortable with soft and firm pillows. the sheets and towels are all clean and bright. They use upgraded toiletries as well. Our wi-fi was free, but we are Presidents Club members and that may have made a difference. The rates are very good for the value received when compared to other similar options around town. Some of the finishing are actually closer to an Intercon, rather than typical Holiday Inn, which surprised me. I’ve stayed in more expensive locations in the area, and been less impressed with their upkeep, cleanliness, room layouts, and the over all experience. I love the setting — nature, trails, rocks, & wildlife surround the building. The views of the mountains are spectacular! The hotel bar was kind enough to stay open a bit later for us one evening, with out seeming even remotely upset to do so. The downtown area is within walking distance, but if you are heading out for a night along the main strip, cabs were always fast and inexpensive. If you love golf, Silvertip is just up the hill. We would gladly recommend this hotel for others. When driving through the mountains with my in-laws, we stayed here and it was consistently good to all of us.

Super easy location to find, right off the main drag. Free parking too, always a bonus. The rooms were a good size, very comfortable even with several people inside. Standard Holiday Inn feel to the place but with a few décor items that let you know you were in the Rockies(rock inlaid floor, exposed wooden beams). The restaurant has AMAZING pizza. The breakfast buffet was standard, nothing special, but oh man the pizza kicked some serious butt. Totally delicious, not greasy and full of toppings. Even if you are staying somewhere else in Canmore but you want pizza, make the trip to this restaurant. Amazing. The meeting space is all downstairs and is standard. Clean, functional and easy to find your way around. All in all this was a good place to stay, especially if you are more budget conscious.

good clean and well maintained hotel in the area, and much cheaper than staying in banff as well. ample parking. wifi is really slow though – ironic as i’m typing this review in the hotel room using their wifi.

Great place to stay if you’re visiting Banff National Park or the Canmore area. Friendly staff and nice rooms. Close to all amenities with easy access to the Trans-Canada.

Stayed here as a stopover while traveling on business in Alberta. Recently changed hands was operating as a Sheraton property listed as Hotel of the Rockies. I would definitely stay here again and again! If you want peaceful, beautiful environment this is it. Look out the window of your well appointed room and see the awesome Canadian Rocky mountains! Snow capped peaks cool air and nicely furnished accomodations are what you get here for a reasonable price considering this is a tourist area. From lobby to elevator to hallways it was nicely done. Not sure how much was leftover from Sheraton but I like what Holiday Inn has done. Front desk staff are business only so don’t expect hometown greeting but they do their job. Flat screen tv’s if you really spend that much time in your room with what there is outside. The walls seem well insulated when I checked in it was a holiday weekend and every room was full. Even though I heard some laughter in the hallway from next door once I closed my door peace and quiet abounded!
