A good breakfast place in the morning, especially if you want some eggs benedict which is their winning item for me. Their hash browns are a little too greasy for my tastes, but this is a favourite of my wife, and everything is at a good price.

My initial infatuation with Jimmy’s has developed into a lasting relationship. I have a thing for corner stores and diners so the outdated(but clean) décor pleases me greatly. It may not be a ‘trendy’ spot but I see clientele from every walk of life when I eat here. Families, students, professionals on lunch etc. There is always a gentleman manning the grill and three other kind ladies who assist. I am dying to know if the man IS «Jimmy» and am working up my courage to ask. The breakfasts are fabulous. Everything from eggs benny to pancakes are well made and not greasy as with so many other diners. Recently I had chicken salad sandwiches with pea soup that tasted like a comforting meal at a friend’s place. The burgers are a treat. I am always surprised by how quickly the food arrives after ordering! I come here to do business, study, finish a half-completed crossword started by another customer, contemplate the family dynamics in cartoons… There is no rush here. Pick a booth, feel free to relax and refill your coffee or water as you wish. One thing of interest: I went into the women’s washroom the other day and stopped short. I shook my head and looked again. There was no toilet! It is literally a WASHroom because that is all you can do in it. I used the men’s room which thankfully, was clean :)

Had American money, they couldn’t take it(at the time of this posting, the American dollar is worth 30% more than Canadian). Had a credit card and debit card from America, they couldn’t take either(funny, both worked at every other Canadian store). Cash or Debit. I couldn’t sub the eggs for hash browns, so I had to buy a portion of hash browns on the side. They were perfectly cooked. That was the only highlight from this visit.

I saw the rating of this restaurant for having brunch was very high, so I visited the restaurant today. The restaurant looked old without any fancy decorations. I wouldn’t mind the decorations or environments as long as the food was good. The restaurant is running by a bunch of Korean people. A few of them cooked or helped out in an open kitchen. One of them washed dishes. One was a cashier. There were many varieties of food for us to choose on the menu. I ordered a dish of black stone benny with bacons, eggs, ham, green onions, and cubes of tomatoes. I was a bit disappointed because the eggs were VERY small! Comparing to the benedicts I had in Vancouver or Greater Vancouver, I paid a little bit more to get a better quality and quantity! One of the cooks or helpers in the kitchen said she would give me ketchup, but I never got it. I had to steal some ketchup from another table after the customers left. Geez. My mom ordered a BELT sandwich with soup. The sandwich arrived but we kept waiting for the soup. Then I went to the cashier and asked why the soup took very long. She said we didn’t order the soup. I said we were 100% sure we ordered the soup because we read the whole title of the dish out loud when we paid for the meal at the counter. I told the cashier that we thought the soup was like a soup of the day and she never asked what kind of soup we like, so we thought that whatever came with the sandwich, we would take it and try it, because it was our first time to try this restaurant. Then the cashier said we had to tell them what type of soup we would like to order. I said gee… She never told us there were options of the soup on a black chalk board behind us!!! Then my mom picked a mushroom soup(1 of 4 options) and paid a little bit of extra for it. My dad ordered ham, tomatoes and cheese sandwiches with soup. He was smart to ask what kind of soup the restaurant had. However, he ordered after a group of six customers. He waited for sooooo long for the food. I thought this was not acceptable. When I was almost finished my egg benny, he just started his meal! Overall, the service was bad. The food was the type that I could cook or make at home. I felt thirsty after I had the brunch. The food probably got high sodium or lots of MSG? It was good that it was not too expensive but i would still not mind to pay a bit more to get a better service and good quality. I will not go back to this restaurant as there are so many good ones out there! :)

My work friends and I have come here a few times for lunch. We generally do find the food to be pretty good(with the exception of the chicken noodle soup which has way too many extra soggy huge veggie pieces). It is very consistent with what you expect from a diner. Nothing extraordinary and nothing terrible to say. There are three drawbacks to this place 1) The prices vary wildly. Some items are great prices eg: Grilled Ham and Cheese $ 4.50 I ordered was totally reasonable or the«Special Benny»(Benny with sautéed mushrooms and green onion on top) my coworker ordered $ 16.50, which seems fairly steep. This I noticed all across the board. The second thing is absolutely no flexibility. I wanted the chicken strips but not with french fries, I was told if I wanted a different side(I was asking for a salad) I would need to buy the full size $ 8.50 one. Seems kind of silly I even offered to pay a substitution fee but no dice. Lastly English is a real problem here. The lady who had been at the cashier station everytime we go in is so not helpful. If you have any questions she just nods her head having no idea what your talking about and it can be very frustrating. So in conclusion this place is not bad but it’s not great either.

Kind of expensive for«cafeteria» food & service. I had corned beef on rye sandwich with small salad & no drink $ 9.10. The sandwich was skimpy(3 thin slices of beef) I think they should do better for the prices.

This is my Go-To breakfast place, if you’re looking for a hangover cure, look no further. The quality of it’s food might be par, but it makes up with the quantity and it’s value. I must say the service is much more faster than going to iHop or Denny’s in the same area, and I like it’s causal settings and easy parking.

The interior leaves much to be desired along with the food. I wish that I could say something a bit more positive about this place but I truly was unimpressed. The food was sub-par and the service wasn’t too great either. Although I’d rather go to an independent restaurant over a chain, Denny’s has the place beat by a long shot. The food, unfortunately, had very little flavour. I’m not going back.

Delicious crispy hashbrowns. Satisfactory pancakes. A nice old classic diner interior. BUT super heavy on greese /butter, I must tell you. Not such a healthy choice.

On the days I couldn’t eat breakfast at home before work, I ate here. For the past two weeks before moving into a new house, I can honestly say I ate here(except one time) every weekday morning. When I walked in the first time, I felt like I was visiting a 50s family diner, even without the standard neon lights and hanging pop culture art. It felt like this resto’s been here for decades, though truth be told, it hasn’t made it to a decade. Soups here are creatively thought of. They’re not your average Italian Wedding or Mushroom Cream or Potato Bacon which you should all love(however, they do have chicken noodle). Try the Green pea and Ham soup(mostly made from peas). The hamburgers are always fresh and juicy(and yes, they serve them at any time). Try the Jimmy’s Special hamburger. And they make hashbrowns here in their own special way, exhibiting the best mix of softness and crunchiness. But hands down, the best breakfast meal I’ve had here was the B.E.L.T. sandwich(a good ol’ B.L.T. with an Egg).

I visited this place based on a Unilocal search for a decent little all-day breakfast restaurant and I was not disappointed. This place is a hidden gem! And it’s literally hidden in the corner of a strip mall. The décor, if you can even call it that, is pretty worn and has seen much better days but don’t let that get to you. The food is totally worth it! The place is run by a very polite Asian couple and they are so lovely! I’ve tried the 2−2−2(2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 sausage) and the blackstone eggs bene(eggs bene sprinkled with bacon). Both dishes are amazing. Pancakes were light and fluffy and eggs were perfectly cooked! My friend also tried the mushroom eggs bene(on 2 separate visits) and had no complaints. I absolutely recommend this place over the overpriced and overrated) chain restaurants(ahem, Cora’s).

I’ve been coming here for a few years now, it seems to be the go-to breakfast joint around this area! When it comes to hash browns, I think Jimmy’s has got everyone beat! They grate the potato really thinly, and I think they really slow fry the potatoes(with a press on top) to get that crispy crust. DEE-LICIOUS. I *think* this is what takes the longest part on any dishes that include hash browns, which, I wasn’t too impressed with this morning since it took about 20 minutes for my meal to arrive(and the actual benny was just lukewarm). The potatoes are always perfect, so I guess if it takes more time to slowly fry and make them extra crispy, then it does!!! But I’d just expect the rest of my dish to be hot! Aside from the temp issue, their food is good. The Hollandaise sauce isn’t too thick and goopy, I really liked it. price-wise, I don’t think its cheap, but seems to be the same as your other chains. It was $ 25 for breakfast for 2(no drinks). Also, they keep advertising for«the best burger ever!!». I’ve only ever had breakfast, so I think I might try this next time! I’ve spent the last 10 minutes floating between 3 or 4 stars… and I’m settling on 4. Because I would rather pay money to these guys, than drive out to IHOP or Dennys(however I overlooked the fact that White Spot is across the street.). But if i did go to White Spot, I’d probably cry, and come back to Jimmy’s for their hash browns. And on a separate note, I just realised that their plates totally look like the White Spot checkered rim plates — without the logo in the middle :)

I found this place by looking up best burger spots in coquitlam. But now I eat there 3 times a week. There grilled onion burger is king! The Blackstone eggs benny is boss! Service is friendly and the food tastes clean and fresh. Oh yeah and no one makes better hash browns. I have showed at least 10 friends this place and now they call me to go down, instead of me calling them. Mmmmmmm good!

I love coming to Jimmy’s Place. This is my favourite brunch place near my home. My favourite thing to order is the hash browns! They are always cooked to perfection and just the right crispiness! I usually order the 2 egg breakfast that comes with 2 pieces of toast, 2 eggs anyway you like and 2 sausage/ham/bacon or I will order the BELT(Bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato) This is a no frills kind of place. You place your order at the counter, then pick up your utensils and pick a seat. The only thing I wish it was open on Sundays.

I didn’t even know there would be a nice, cozy brunch place in Burquitlam area. But this place just became my fav brunch place in this area. Both omelette and traditional breakfast are nice. You can refill coffee. Hash-brown’s good, so as the egg benny. And I just gotta love this little diner ambiance! Mmmm…

Slept in on a Saturday morning, wanted something different other than the large restaurant chains, and lo and behold, me and my boyfriend found Jimmy’s Place tucked beside the Pet Cetera on North Road. And were we ever impressed. My boyfriend and I aren’t foodies, but we eat out enough to appreciate friendly service, fresh ingredients and a clean environment, all of which were present as soon as we walked into the door. But you add in an old school diner feel, complete with Coke bottles, and that’s a whole star right there. You order at the counter, grab your own drinks and utensils and wait for the lovely servers to come by with your food. It took about 15 minutes for us. I ordered the 3 topping omelette which came with toast and hash browns. The cheese, mushroom and tomatoes were balanced out within the omelette, and I had the perfect amount of hash browns. Not to mention they were perfectly crispy! No sogginess and nothing was burnt. My boyfriend ordered Jimmy’s burger and it was wonderful! They smothered it with their secret sauce, not too much that it was dripping, but enough that it was in every bite. The bun was right of the toaster so it was warm, and the fries were cut huge! At the end of the meal, we were full, but we didn’t hate ourselves. Perfect. Only 4 stars because I have yet to try the rest of the items on the menu. But safe to say, this will definitely be our Saturday morning breakfast place.
