John B Liquor Store

I stopped by the John B Liquor Store for the first time yesterday looking for a specific wine from a favourite Okanagan vineyard. They had it (a wonderful pinot noir), along with several other wines from the same vineyard. That’s the good news. The bad news: the inflated prices. I bought the same wine from another private liquor store downtown over the summer for around $ 22. Here it was $ 28. Yikes! A nice pinot blanc that I paid $ 16 for at Liquor Depot was $ 24 at John B. Comparing John B’s wine prices to BC liquor store prices is even more dramatic. They have a very good selection of wine – I have to say that much. But it helps to know your prices before shopping there! In the end, I walked out without buying anything.
