I have been here many times the last two years and I can honestly say I have never have a terrible experience food or service wise the manager there is very involved with the guests and his staff, today was my birthday and I couldn’t have been happier my steak was slightly cooked further then I liked and they remade it and took care of my meal and my dessert without me even suggesting I wanted I discount. I wouldn’t go any where else for a good evening out then Mr. mikes Coquitlam

Not the mr mikes of my childhood! Stopped in on a weekday night and it want busy. Waitress was super friendly and not at all fake like many. We had been once before and remembered we had a good experience. We had a burger that was cooked properly and very good. A chicken club that was also good and the best shrimp tacos I have ever had. Drinks were good and service was great! What’s not to like?

My friend and I decided to come here for a girl’s night. After being seated, we waited a good 10 minutes just for the waitress to come take our drink order. Our drinks took forever to come, in the time it took the table of 4 behind us ordered their drinks and got theirs before us. We decided to just order some appies to split. We got the spinach dip and the steak bites. Spinach dip was bland and not very good. Steak bites were chewy. We were still hungry and decided to order something else. We asked for another menu and the waitress gave us a funny look and said«A food menu? to order more food?» Umm yes. We got an order of the potato skins. Not very good either. All in all service was slow, food not very good. Spent a lot for a barely ok meal. Definitely won’t be back.

The place looks nice we thought we would give it a try. We sat in the empty waiting area for 10 minutes, looking at several empty tables all within view. Wondering why we had not been seated it was frustrating however it got a lot more frustrating when we sat at our table for 10 minutes(husband decided to time it after a few minutes of absolutely no acknowledgement) without the waitress evening stopping in to say hello. Then the people who were seated about 5 minutes after us were taken care of by the staff. At this point it was game over, we left. On the way out we walked past the server, the manager and the hostess no one said a word. Super disappointing and certainly not a good first impression.

I am totally loving this place now! I love their new menu. Steak was cooked to perfection. Deep Fried Pickles(my all time favorite) is very nice and crispy. Salad is fresh. Pitcher of beer is reasonably priced(I think is $ 17) Burger is juicy, and I love the«BULLDOG» drink. come Thursday night for 50% off appies after 8pm ;D

I have driven by this place for many years and finally decided to give it a try. i gotta say for the price i was NOT impressed. there is nothing special here. you get the basic menu you get anywhere else. I mean zero creativity. everything overpriced. I mean if you are going to charge me an extra $ 4 for garlic bread on top of $ 19 seafood pasta and $ 8 for glass of wine, don’t put paper napkin on my table!!! food was ok and nothing more. also got the brownie desert. service was not a shade above average. «drinks?» «order?» «how was the first few bites?» «you guys still ok?» «Ill get the machine.» that’s all our waitress said. anyways, worth a try i guess…

Went to Mr. Mikes for their half price appies special on Thursdays. This place gets super busy, so I would suggest getting there before 8pm so you can get a seat. Between 4 people, we ordered: yam fries, 2 caesar salads, mushroom appie(forget what it’s actually called), pemberton skins, hot chicken wings and drinks for each person. All the food came at the same time and it was perfect! The servers do such a great job considering how busy it gets and they were super attentive!

My boyfriend and I have been here several times. I don’t understand why there are so many negative reviews as every single time we’ve been we received excellent service and the god has been delicious. I really like the cost«lodge» atmosphere with all the outdoorsy décor on the walls. It makes for the perfect setting to eat the delicious beef dip or chicken burger. Of course I can’t fail to mention the vancouver island iced tea that is my favorite to order almost every time we go. Needless to say mr mikes is definitely one of our favorite spots and we will definitely be going back.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch a few days ago. He got a burger and I got the mountain club chicken sandwich. The food was yummy and a perfect portion. Will not go back for lunch since it came to almost $ 40, refills on drinks are charged each time(Almost $ 7 for two Pepsi) plus the sandwich and burger were both around $ 14-$ 15. Would come back to try on an evening sometime when they have specials on(half priced menu items after 8pm) Nice ambiance and good service as well.

Visited tonight with my spouse, sister and her hubby. Food was amazing and the service was the best I’ve had at a restaurant in quite some time. Would highly recommend to anyone!

You know, it was much better than I remembered it and the service was great. We had a salad and shared a beef dip. Everything was as expected… Unexpected? 4 dollar beers. Big fat beers too. And the lager is very tasty. You should go for that reason alone.

Went here for dinner on the long weekend and had a fantastic dinner. Started off with the crackling steak bites that were served with chipotle ranch. The steak bites were tender but the chipotle ranch wasn’t great. Could have had a bit more spice! But that’s just me. For dinner I had the cajun chicken fettuccine. It was delicious! Over all had a great evening with good food.

I really don’t know why there are so many negative comments here. It’s great every time we come and We’ve been coming here for a while now. Thursday nights have ½ price menu items after 8. The food is always good and consistent. The manager comes by to every table and tries to strike up conversation as a pleasant touch. We have also noticed that the waitresses actually seem genuinely nice which is a nice change from the other chain restaraunts in the area.

Worst… service… ever. I’m posting this review late because I totally forgot I never reviewed it and they are not deserving of their 3 stars on here. So, this happened in Mid-May 2011. The men’s bathroom was disgusting. I told the bus boy(as our waitress was nowhere to be found) and he checked. He agreed with me yet an hour later, nothing had been done to rectify the problem. I asked to talk to the manager. Apparently the real manager was not their and our completely incompetent waitress was the acting manager. My mother was a waitress for decades. I have worked in a restaurant in both front and back of house. This was just shameful. When we told the waitress/failed-manager about this, she had us escorted out of the restaurant… AFTER we paid our bill. Obviously we left no tip. We e-mailed the chain and left a formal complaint. Weeks after the fact, when my wife and I had begun our drive from Vancouver to Montréal, we received a call from the general manager who apologized profusely and offered us a free meal. Not good enough. 1, we’re moving to Montréal. 2, I would never willingly go there again. Avoid this place. It’s bad beyond bad.

Oh come on! This place isn’t that bad! This has been my third meal here(all times others have chosen it) and whereas the food might not be fancy, it isn’t bad either. Basically you’re looking at burgers better then Denny’s but not as good as Red Robin. No, this isn’t the Mr. Mike’s from your childhood but not in the same extreme way that freakin’ White Spot tries to serve Indian food, LOL. At a recent birthday party my mom and I shared the mushroom Mike burger with fries. For two little ladies like ourselves, this burger is perfect for sharing, especially if you glance beforehand at the calorie count. Service was fine. Bonus points for accommodating my messy niece and nephew. I don’t do the whole«family» dinner thing often, but this place is appropriate for that… right down to the kid’s mac n’ cheese which was in fact Kraft Dinner. Bottom line… this place is good for a group of people, especially if your group involves wildly different tastes and ages. They don’t take reservations so just bear that in mind.

I too recall going to Mr. Mikes as a kid. The gold foil-wrapped baked potatoes were always a treat, and that potato-topping holder thing they would bring by so you could load up… awesome! They have come a long way since the 70’s! Every time I come to this location I leave satisfied. There was one occasion when the kitchen prepared our starter and entrée so they arrived minutes apart at the table. No big deal though, and really didn’t think much of it. Needless to say the manager comes by and apologizes and says they would comp the appetizer! Not necessary, but very nice all the same. That’s service! I’m a big fan of the chicken filo. mmmm…

Mr. Mike’s sure has changed… The last time I had been to Mr. Mike’s it was one of those salad bar/all-you-can-eat chain restaurants that were all the rage in the mid– to late 80s(Sizzler, Bonanza to name two). Since the husband and I were feeling the nostalgia, in the mood for a steak, and had the two-fer-one coupon on hand, we decided to go. I liked their West Coast outdoorsy theme — a kayak hung from the ceiling, big photos of people mountain climbing — even if I don’t know what it had to do with steak. The menu also has lots of dishes named after BC towns. Neat. We both had steak dinners; that’s what Mr. Mike’s specializes in. They were well priced, and quite good. I mean, if you’re looking for the ultimate steak, maybe this isn’t it, but it was delicious for the price point(just north of $ 20). Mine came with prawns and scallops in a buttery sauce, while the husband’s plate was traditional — mushrooms, pepper sauce, and a baked potato. My only real complaint was that the menu said there were onion rings, and then the dish only came with two lil’ rings. The cheesecake bites dessert was also lovely, with bite-sized squares of New York, Turtles, and raspberry swirl cake drizzled with chocolate, strawberry, and caramel sauce. The service was also very good, attentive and friendly, with no case of «disappearing waitress.» Going to Mr. Mike’s was like seeing an old friend all grown up.
