Pho Sen Beef Noodle Soup

Great Phở Noodle soup, always fast! Unfortunately, take out has never been good… something missing or not what you expect. Last order I took out was the #65 Chicken Balls with Sweet & Sour Sauce. They just decided to remove everything from the noodles. So, I had chicken balls with oily plain noodles… literally inedible! No Flavour and no veg mixed in such as shown in the menu pictures. I called to ask if they forgot and I was told they decided to remove everything a few weeks ago. How about you tell people when they order it? I’ll go for the Phở (which is delicious), but never take out again.

Ordered the fried noodles with curry, and there’s no curry at all when served. I asked the server, and he said they forgot to put it in. What a joke. Clean interior, but the staff doesn’t seem to care about customer at all. Thank god there are so many other good places to go for phở nearby. Will never come again.

I’ve recently started working in the area. This place always looked busy. One night my husband and I tried it out. I ordered vermicelli with spring rolls and pork. Decent but I’ve had better. Portions were good, just needed more flavor. My husband had Phở he seemed to enjoy it. Service was on the slow side, and it wasn’t too busy. Its a pretty big restaurant, modern, nice and clean. I’d go back to try other menu items.

It’s a really good place for phở soup. Nice and clean and nice sized portions. It is close and convenient to the office. I come here at least once a week and have never been disappointed.

Interior décor is very pleasant. Food is not too bad but service is extremely poor. No refill of tea.

Food is average! Service is okay! My boyfriend and I got a rice plate, didn’t give us a spoon and fork! Maybe they’re expecting that we gonna use chopstick for our rice plate?!

My mom and I go to this place at least once every 2 weeks. The food is incredible! The staff is very friendly as well.

I don’t expect authenticity in this part of the hood, and you know it when you walk in and doesn’t smell like fish oil ;) Believe it or not, you get used to it and smells real, real good but I digress.
It’s located in an older building, close to Pink Sugar.
Played it safe and ordered their sub, which barely passed. One, the bun was a bit tough, no Ba Le or DD Mau lol. Two, the melted cheese definitely strange. Lastly, the house sauce just wasn’t there.
But it’s work/​date material enough, one of the nicer Viet places here in Coquitlam, brick décor all around, dimmed lighting somewhat.
Service is passable, neither friendly or rude, if that makes sense.
Can’t say I would recommend coming here, there’s a more authentic phở if you go towards the mall.
Parking’s tough here.

Generous serving sizes. I would recommend paying the $ 1 more to get nearly double the amount of Phở.
The broth was full of flavor, generous amount of meat and vegetables. Very fair for the low prices this place offers.

I would recommend this place to others, looking for a delicious hot bowl of Phở
I recommend eating in, not taking out, as portion sizes are dramatically different for takeouts.

Food was phở real. Vermicelli was very good, meats were non greasy, and broth was very good

Spotty service generally; last night, terrible service!
We had a party of six for dinner. All were served their meals within a reasonable time after ordering. But I waited 10 minutes for mine. Then when my order finally did arrive, no apologies. The plate was just plopped in front of me as if my having to wait didn’t matter.
One of our orders was wrong (prawns served with rice rather than noodles as requested). When the food was being brought out, the waitress couldn’t remember who ordered what. On two occasions during our meal, other peoples’ orders were brought to our table. At the table next to us, two young moms were having a night out with their small kids. The waitress brought a serving of appetizers, obviously intended for sharing among the kids. But one of the moms had to find plates to put on the table since the waitress didn’t bother to.
All these service screw-​ups, but it wasn’t like the place was busy. In fact there were only 4 – 6 tables being served. The restaurant was practically empty.
We live only a few blocks away, so we’re somewhat regulars here. The food is OK, at times quite good, as far as this type of restaurant goes. Most times the service is acceptable. But there have been numerous other occasions at which I had to scratch my head over some oversight or lack of courtesy. For example, one of my kids doesn’t use chopsticks; actually receiving a fork the first time he asks for one is rare.
Maybe it’s a case of improper training? Perhaps the management doesn’t understand the «service» part of being in the service industry? In my case last night, a few simple words («sorry about the wait, sir…») would have gone a long way.

Service has went down from the first day of opening. I’ve been going to this establishment since the first grand opening. Its always clean and busy. The food is the reason why we keep coming back.
Calamari is delish, the Bahn Mi is not your average Vancouver style but has a different twist with melted cheese on it. The phở is always hot, and hearty on a cold winter day. Their vermicelli bowls are all delicious and the spring rolls are so good!!! It’s the dipping sauce. They seem to use honey inside the fish sauce? My other fave is the chicken wings! Big portions and always hot and fresh!
If your in this part of town, make sure to visit. Try to avoid the peak times as usually there is only one l, or if lucky 2 servers.

In search of late night phở, I discovered this place. Recommended to me by a coworker (he’s asian, so I guess I just naturally trust his opinion when it comes to general oriental cuisine), I Unilocal’d it, mapped it, found it, walked in and sat down.
Along with Phở Phu Thinh, my other recent phở adventure, this is one of the more clean and well kept phở restaurants. I ordered a small order of phở with rare flank, fatty flank, tendon and tripe.
Service was quick, in no time my phở was ready in front of me for me to enjoy. I prefer the meat in my phở to have a good layer of fat on it (oink!), and in that sense, I was pleased. As with all phở places I’ve been to, I would’ve liked more tripe and the noodle to meat ratio could’ve been better. Piping hot, tasty broth, noodles cooked well. Minor complaints aside, I finished my order right to the bottom. Yum!
One funny thing I noticed, the ends of the spoons have a slight hook to them so when you place them down, they don’t slide to the bottom of your phở! Are all phở restaurants like this, and I’m just oblivious? Could be, but nonetheless, I found it handy.
All in all, tasty soup to cut through that late-​night winter chill.

About time Coquitlam has a delicious phở establishment!
Phở Sen is a relatively new phở restaurant that’s tucked away in a little strip mall adjacent to Henderson Mall. If it wasn’t for my brother bragging about how good this place is, I would have never found it (credit him, not me!).
The dining area is extremely clean, spacious and well-​lit. The only bone to pick is that the door is located directly in the middle of the store. Whenever it opens, there’s a cold draft that enters the restaurant (since the place faces north and is shaded).
As for the food, the spring rolls are fried perfectly, and the phở broth is on par with some of the best phở restaurants in Vancouver. Prices are standard and you’re guaranteed to leave full.
If I’m ever in the area, this place will be worthy of another visit.

Very yummy! Staff is friendly, nice clean and spacious. Will come back for sure!!!
