I like this LC a lot. It’s a nice location with pleasant, friendly staff, good layout and a varied selection of local wines. It also helps that the NS wines aren’t sequestered in a corner of the store; they’re front and centre, basically in the middle of the floor. You can’t miss ‘em. While this isn’t a large location, it does cover all the alcoholic bases. I don’t think we’ve ever stopped here and not been able to find what we’re looking for.

The mall-based NSLCs and I are just not meant to get along. Much like Scotia Square and Halifax Shopping Centre locations, this all-white-everything, boutique-style shop just isn’t up to snuff even compared to the usual NSLC locations all over town. Now, before I get too hard on them, I will very clearly state that the staff here are super. I have to give the olé NSLC credit on the customer service level. You ask them a question, they walk you to where you can learn more about what you were looking for. No pointing, no ‘over there’, but a friendly face making sure you have what you need. Now, I also need to point out in only the most delightful way, that once the staff person here took me to find their bourbon stock and asked me what kind I was looking for(Marker’s or Bullet, obvs), she cheekily answered with, «well, I should say, we don’t have *good* bourbon» as she offered up the alternative brands they did happen to have. Way to bring your snobbery up to my level, friend. I get the appeal of having some snazzy flagship type stores, but without the product to back it up, it’s just not going to do the trick for me.

Nicer than most NSLC — but quite up to boutique class. I like it because of all of the angles used in the display cases which reduces the warehouse effect that is often associated with NSLC.
