This Sobeys just doesn’t work for me. Even though it is one of their larger stores, they don’t seem to have a much different assortment than any other Sobeys, just more of the same things. I find it always crowded too. I stay away because the parking lot is always a challenge. Maybe I am experiencing what Yogi Berra was thinking of when he said«Nobody goes there any more. It’s too crowded». I think they need to examine the interior layout of this place too. It just seems uncomfortable to me for some reason. Regardless, there are other Sobeys I like better, so I seldom go here.

Once again, just another Sobeys. Still a good natural food selection with a fair amount of vegan products. Staff are pleasant, comfortable to shop.

I think I’ve been to all the Sobey’s stores in Dartmouth and this one ranks about third on my list. I like the size, it’s one of the newer, larger stores so it has a lot more variety. For a new store, the layout is not that great. I think maybe they tried this design and scrapped it. It does not flow very well and there are a couple of bottle necks. The staff are generally helpful. Nice that there is an NSLC store connected. Lots of parking and usually not too difficult to get in and out of the parking lot.

My other half and I prefer to shop at Sobeys for most groceries. However, I find this Sobeys my least favorite in Dartmouth(besides Primrose, I don’t step foot in that tiny Sobeys). The Enter and Exit doors are opposite than other sobeys so that gets me every time! Also, I find that whenever there is a good sale(BOGO for example) they run out of things on the shelves pretty fast… we’ve came here on a number of occassions with numerous shelves being bare and no more sale items available, at least that are stocked, and it is either the first or second day into the sale! So we usually drive the extra few minutes to Penhorn Plaza or Russell lake. The good thing about this sobeys is that it is connected to NSLC, close to shoppers, dollar store, etc.

This Sobeys is in a great spot for me and there’s a few other stores around it which is also convenient. Staff are usually polite and the produce is usually fresh. I have gone in a few times and the produce hasn’t always been the greatest but it’s only been once or twice. I like that I can get pretty much everything I need here and that it’s close to transit.

This store’s just beautiful, if nestled in a weird spot compared to some of the nearby businesses(not sure how a supermarket and self-storage go together, but let’s just roll with it). It’s a good size and has most everything right there. The proximity to transit makes it perfect for students, although the buses that run through are generally on weird schedules, so you could end up waiting a while for a lift. The biggest downfall to the store is probably that the layout, while being somewhat typical of Sobeys, is also such that it may take a few laps through to make sure you didn’t miss anything.

So recently, the old Sobeys on Main Street moved over to Tacoma Drive whereby the newly constructed Sobeys is quite large and impeccable and seems to have everything — including an attached liquor store. I’ve shopped there on several occasions and have never had any problem finding anything, except for cosmetics… I was quite disappointed to learn that the store doesn’t carry cosmetics. Perhaps this is because there’s a large new Shoppers Drug Mart close by, but if the grocery is trying to move towards one stop shopping, they should really consider adding a cosmetics section.
