The Battered Fish

Just was at the battered fish. Take out. Staff at the friend were incredibly welcoming, professional. He is a real asset to this location. Great job!!!

Long wait, and loving fish and chips and all I was excited to try this place, being from eastern passage I love boon docks, and warf wraps … The fish was tiny not to mention it was soggy as if it was sitting and put into a microwave and nuked. The fries were nothing special. Tiny portions.

Thin, tasteless fries, neon-​green tartar sauce, tiny pieces of fish. The signature red sauce is OK, but everything else about this place can go.

Delicious, fresh and fast. The fish burger was awesome, perfect portion of fish to bun. The homemade tartar sauce is wonderful. I had the chowder — a cup was more than enough — and I had one piece of fish. The fries are home cut and freshly cooked to order — they are a skinny cut, not fat.
The restaurant is clean and bright and the washroom is spotless (these things really matter). Customer service was top notch with a smile.
There are a couple of tables outside which is nice as well. Enjoy!

I have to say I was very displeased with my visit today. Upon arriving I told the cashier what it was I wanted to purchase she then gave me a «humph» and started ringing me into the debit machine. When I paid she tossed my receipt on the counter and walked away. then while I was waiting a couple entered and the cashier asked «What can I get you», and the couple replied «this is our first time here». The cashier then looked at the couple and said «let me know when you want to order» and walked away. I feel like in this situation the cashier should be more helpful and say something like «well can I assist you with making a decision?». Sadly no effort was made in at this point my order was
I approached the counter and the cashier asked me if I would like some tartar sauce and I replied yes. At no fault of hers she then put in two of the smallest containers of tartar sauce I have ever seen. The amount of tartar sauce added only covered about a third of my meal, and that’s not saying much because the portion that was deemed «large» was nothing more than a lunch size portion. For the amount of money that I was charged and the amount of food I was given I would much rather go to any other restaurant in the area then to return to the battered fish. this may have been an off day I can’t say but I can’t say that I will not return to this location because of the service I was given today.

Location is great for the area… fish & chips are great… nice thin batter and the haddock is always nice and fresh. I kinda wish the fries wernt soo skinny though… overall a nice place to eat.
