When I was feeling blue the other day, my boyfriend decided an adventure was in order. As Nerf Gun fever has struck our apartment, we headed into Dartmouth Crossing to check out Toys R Us’ selection. I’ve never been in the new TRU location, as it was built just after I left Dartmouth Crossing.
The layout is really nice, bright and clear, with an connecting entrance to Baby’s R Us, which is next door, and which I will never enter, unless someone drags me with quite a bit of force. Or bribery. The overall layout is super different than the old spot in MicMac, and it’s also not nearly as big. It has a bit of a squished in feeling, to be honest. We were both looking for specific things, and we found them both. They have an excellent assortment of science toys, action figures, plushies, everything kids could want; Heck, they have everything I want and I’m twenty-​eight!
It was an ok visit. I’ll be back again, I’m sure.

Although I prefer to support local HRM baby stores as opposed to the big box stores, I have to give Babies R Us the 4 stars it deserves, just for their selection and product availability. I recently went in to have a look at a stroller that was advertised in the flyer and was pleasantly surprised that they actually had it in stock. I will say that it’s kind of tough sometimes to find someone on the floor to help you, but the staff at the front are happy to page someone and the guys out back will deliver your purchases to your car with a smile. I definitely recommend checking out the local places first before making a big purchase, but I have to admit that the prices at Babies R Us, along with selection and availability are pretty good. And it is a good spot to just pop in if you need to grab a gift or something quick.

I’m 27, and I still love going to toy stores. Toys for kids nowadays are so much cooler! I still fall victim to the shiny lights and bright colours, and now that my weekly allowance eclipses what I spent in a year on candy when I was six, I can appreciate a visit to Toys R Us more.
They have a really good selection of Lego kits (why waste your time at Toys R Us if you’re not going to look at Lego?) and their board games section has all the classics and must-​haves for children and adults alike. If you’re looking for a new game for your board game night, (family friendly, or adaptable to gin and juice!), here is a good spot to stock up. I’m usually too overwhelmed by the sea of pink to check out their Barbie and other doll selection, but I’m assuming by the vastness of it, they have all the hottest ones.
It’s easy to find things, it’s very bright and clean. However, prices are usually higher than most places, but they’re great when they have sales. The few times I’ve been here, the staff have been helpful, but a little stiff.

Since my wife and I are expecting, we’ve been flyer shopping the Toys R’ Us /​Babies R Us for any and everything we want /​need!
So we found a gem, a bassinet on sale, and they included the stand for free.
So off we went again.
Every time we venture in, the service is awesome, the other parents /​parents to be, are very friendly, and willing to share their experiences with any and everything.
Which is a huge plus to first time parents.
The selection is ample, the options are vast.
You need anything Baby, or kid oriented, this place will have.

Went in looking for a barbie and horse for my daughter for Christmas. Walking down aisle and seen this awesome Barbie with a horse on a big display. 4 shelves filled with this product and the price below each shelf said 44.97!
I get to cash the Barbie and Horse ring up as 69.99! I said no thank you I am not paying that. She pulled up the flyer and there was a Barbie and Horse on sale for 44.97 and it had a white horse instead of the traditional brown color. So I went on my why without it. I wanted to go look at this display and see how deceiving it was. After looking at it, I felt I should go to customer service and let them know of the error. To my surprise the awesome sales rep said I could have the Barbie and Horse for the price listed for sale, and it was their error and they will Price Guarantee the item!
