I haven’t experimented with anything aside from the tanning beds at Tropical Sensations so I can’t talk about their nail techs however the pictures they share on Instagram and Facebook look absolutely stunning. I work at Starbucks so gel nails are a no-go in my world.
The bulbs are changed in the beds on a regular basis and they’re the best (if not the best) of any of the salons’s I’ve been to in the city. they have a number of different bronzer beds (level 2) and booster beds (level 3) a stand up and a turbo bed.
They have a tone of different lotions and a warning sign around the tingles that they do carry. They offer them in the packets, full bottle and single uses. I’m a commitment phobe when it comes to lotion so it’s perfect. I can try a bunch a lotion a bunch of times, buy it and then start looking for the next best.
Totally recommend this place to ANYONE looking for a summer glow. The girls there are super knowledgable.

I went to Tropical Sensations for gel nails in 2008 and was a frequent visitor for two years after that. I now do my own nails, so I haven’t dropped by the salon for a while, but I have only fond memories of it.
I saw several different nail techs over the course of two years, including the owner, Jo-Ann. Everyone was extremely professional and personable, and my nails always lasted a long time and garnered dozens of compliments! Jo-Ann has very high standards for all of her staff and it shows — I’ve never been treated as anything but a valued customer.
I’ve only used the tanning beds once or twice — no complaints there — and haven’t tried the hair or esthetics services either (though I’ve heard good things). The décor is very bright and cheerful, which makes a world of difference in the middle of the winter.
Highly recommended.

I went to Tropical Sensations to get my first full set of gel nails. I had a relatively new girl, Ashley. She did an awesome job And she answered any questions I had. I did bleed a little but I’m sure it’s because it was the first time I have ever gotten my nails done, she tried to be as gentle as possible while doing them. The conversation was also great since I was getting my first full set it took almost 2 hours so the time went by pretty quick.
The light cured nails cost pretty much the same as getting acrylics at one of the stores in a mall. If you’re looking for a new set of gel nails definitely check these guys out, but make sure to make an appointment because the girls that do nails only come in for scheduled appointments.
They also have other services at the store like tanning and hair design.
