Nikko was hands down one of the most disappointing sushi experiences I have ever had. There nothing about Nikko that makes it stand up as a worthy competitor to all of the other sushi restaurants in Tsawwassen/Ladner, but on top of that, the prices are outrageously expensive. I ordered one of their«special rolls» and all it was literally a teeny tiny California roll with a blob of sriracha on the top and a few bits of crumbled tempura batter. It was certainly not worth the $ 7.50 it cost me after tax. I also tried the sunomono salad which was almost all broth and no noodle. It had a few sad pieces of cucumber and one piece of nearly disintegrated avocado in it. I ended up throwing it out because it was basically inedible. That cost me another $ 4.00. It is rare that I am so disappointed with a meal that I contemplate returning the entire thing and complaining to the manager. This was one of those times. When compared to other local sushi restaurants, I think of it as almost insulting to offer up such bad food at such a high price. Do NOT waste your time here. I can guarantee you will be as disappointed as I was. I will never eat here again.

First, let me say that I grew up with Nikko Sushi, and have long since appreciated it as a warm and personable place to eat, despite the price range being noticeably higher than most sushi joints. My mainstay as a teenager was their special temaki trio, which was once top notch in terms of ingredient quality(the spicy tuna sauce became the gold standard under which all other sauces would be graded in other establishments… sorry Maguro). While never a reasonable place, the price took a backseat to the establishment, which always made you feel appreciated in the good ol’ days. It broke my heart to revisit Nikko and receive pretty awful service and experience a noticeable decline in food quality while paying an absurd amount. Looking at the menu, even the standard tuna roll had surpassed the three dollar mark(3.25, although it could have been more… I cannot recall). Other items were well above the price range of local competitors, but again, this was never necessarily a winning point of Nikko, but merely overlooked because of such great, personable service and reasonably good food. I have to wonder if the server was brand new to the industry(which I work in), as virtually everything fell short in service standards. It took a couple of minutes to seat me, although there was no one else waiting to be sat. I mentioned that I was looking for a table for one as she walked by with some rice for another table, but I’ll chalk the less-than-prompt service to the possibility of her being relatively new to the place. However, she also goofed my order, and the cook looked none too pleased to hear that when I told him he brought me the wrong thing. No apology either. He looked as though I had done something wrong. Felt uncomfortable. As far as the food, the temaki cones are noticeably less dense than they used to be. The great spicy tuna sauce is still there, but the unagi cone had very little unagi to it, and the rice tasted much blander than usual. There was a care that once existed in crafting these rolls that seemed completely absent this time around. I’ll return in a year or so to see if anything has improved. Maybe they just need a little time(I sense relatively new ownership), and in the meantime, I’ll stick to the slightly superior Peekaboo in Tsawwassen, and the vastly superior and more affordable Maguro in Ladner.

This is a cute little place… it is a TINY little place. Their sushi is standard and met all my cravings! The ginger salad was different than any I have ever had… it had a burst of orange flavor!!! The price is comparable to the area. If you are craving sushi, this lace will hit the spot! It appeared clean and the staff was friendly.

Very average sushi. Best place is Maguro in Ladner Mall next to London Drugs.

First and LAST visit to this establishment. Clearly geared for TAKE-OUT and quality is a notch up from grocery store or food court sushi. Freshness was not there on seaweed that rolls were wrapped in-the tea was bitter and had clearly sat for a long time. Shrimp was chewy, rolls were very basic and unexciting(and freshness was questionable.) The GYOZA was frozen and tasted like freezer… the service was sufficient to get food on the table, but stopped there. We even had a nice wait for the point-of-sale machine to dial-up to complete our payment-because they only have one phone line for their very frequent TAKE-OUT orders and the debit/credit card machine. Nothing we sampled – from the hot tea, appetizer tempura, gyoza, rainbow roll, house roll, ebi-sunomono or other items were even close to on a par or better than our regular place, Maguro Sushi in Ladner. We ate here because Maguro was closed, but we would have enjoyed McDonald’s more than this meal – and that would have been both fresher, and tastier.

The best sushi joint in tsawwassen, and definitely no complaints. It doesn’t stand up to Maguro in nearby Ladner, but it’s less overcrowded and a go-to spot if you want sushi in tsawwassen.
