We ate lunch here today & Deborah was our server. She was an absolute delight! I highly the mango smoothy! When we finished our meal, Deborah brought us a tasty white chocolate treat infused with tea & cranberries — soooo good! All-in-all a quaint little shop we both were happy to have experienced.

I have passed by this tiny shop on Whyte ave so many times without going in… This time, the sign advertising butternut squash mango smoothies intrigued me, and I ventured inside. Inside, the shop is cozy, with three small tables at the back of the shop. There is tea, tea and more tea, as well as waffles and other snacks. You can order your tea hot, iced, in a latte, and more. They also make smoothies with intriguing flavours such as butternut squash mango, and apricot pear. There are lots of sweetening options for teas too, like agave and honey. The owner was very sweet, friendly and knowledgeable about her products. She actually made me a bit worried about too much of a vegetable taste in the butternut squash smoothie and I chickened out and ordered an iced tea, which was very nice and fruity… But after I paid, she asked me whether I had a minute and said she’d make me a sample of the butternut squash smoothie so I could taste it for next time! And it was a huge sample that she had to get the ingredients for and blend up specifically for me! What thoughtful customer service! And guess what… It was DELICIOUS! Butternut squash was the primary note, but it was sweetened up by the mango. They complemented each other amazingly well, and I’m definitely coming back to order this time and time again… This is how you get a loyal repeat customer!

I absolutely adored this little place last time I visited from Calgary. The staff are phenomenally welcoming and accommodating, the tea is lovely, the prices are very affordable, and the décor adorable. Perfect place to sit and write or study! I even wound up taking a bunch of photos & writing a blog post about it I felt so inspired here:

Such a delightful feeling here sipping red rose rooiboos from a beautiful flower teapot and flower teacup under warm lights and colourful Japanese lanterns — best is Deborah’s warm care, which makes us feel so loved and cared for. Mmm if you would like a soft cozy place for tender loving care, this is the spot :) Enjoy. Thank you Deborah and BRT for giving me this wonderful feeling.

One of my personal favourite places to come have a perfect cup of tea. The owners are friendly, talkative, and very informative. If you’re looking for something delicious, such as jelly-bean tea, or cookie’s and cream tea; then you’ve found your match. What makes Budding Rose Teas so outstanding is their customer service, and their knowledge and passion for tea. If something isn’t done right, they’re quick to fix their mistakes! Definitely try the vegan key lime tart if you get the chance. It’s delicious!
