We often come to this location when wandering up and down whyte. It’s not my favorite location out of them all. I always find the staff very friendly but super pushy with their sales tactics. When im trying to quietly decide on a tea I get constant chatter and teas im not interested in shoved in front of my nose or new merchandise shoved in my hands. I understand normally they are trying to help but I’ve even said at times I will let them know when I have decided and they continue to talk and talk. And often times at this location they are out of the tea I am in to buy. But at the end of the day its a Davids and I enjoy the teas, I just don’t need to own every mug for every season they put one out.

I love coming here. The staff are incredibly knowledgable and helpful. New to the tea world so it really helps.

I stopped into this David’s tea, on a Wednesday evening, just after supper. There were a couple people in the store, but that didn’t matter. My husband and I were looking to restock our supply of Alpine Punch, and see what other kinds they had. The lovely young lady who was working there was dealing with customers, by selling tea, giving out samples, and even making drinks. We were in no rush so we got a sample of an espresso tea, and looked around. The lady never made us feel ignored, as she kept us in the loop of conversation, asked if we needed anything and was apologetic for being so busy. I commend her exponentially, after finding out she’s only been there about a month. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the different varieties of tea, and made some great recommendations. I have made purchases online as well, but I do like to go and smell the tea, and ask question about it, in case I may not like it. I will most definitely come back to David’s, because of the selection, wonderful customer service, and the ease of purchase.

I was a huge fan of Davids Tea after visiting their Southgate location, and was thrilled when they opened up a shop on Whyte ave. Even though there are many coffee shops along Whyte avenue, most of them offer no tea selection, or only have the same old flavors that are collecting dust in the back of my kitchen cabinet. The wide selection of loose teas and various hot and cold drinks here(e.g., iced tea, tea lattes, or my favorite, the iced tea latte!) makes this a great stop for the tea fan. Davids Tea gets creative with flavors, which is a good and a bad thing, as sometimes the tea is delicious(e.g., anything with coconut or pomegranate), and sometimes it’s just dreadful(e.g., chocolate-flavored teas, which taste to me like watery freezerburnt chocolate popsicles). There is definitely something for everyone. You can smell the tea before purchasing, and the staff are great at making recommendations, so more often than not I come away with a delicious drink. As Jennie pointed out, there are other tea shops on Whyte avenue, such as Cally’s Teas(locally owned). I too recommend that folks check out Cally’s. I personally find that the flavored teas(at least, the ones that I like) don’t really overlap between Cally’s and Davids Tea, though.

There are no shortage of coffee shops along Whyte Ave, and now, there are no shortage of tea shops too! I love David’s Tea, I love how organized they all are, with green/white, rooibos, oolongs, herbal mattes and pu’ehs all colour coded and separated on one big wall. With the names of the teas very visible and easy to read, and with some of the tea in the cap so you can smell it. The girls that work in this shop are all very sweet, they always have a tea or two to sample when you walk in, and if you aren’t sure what to order they will offer up suggestions. When you are on Whyte Ave and looking for tea, I have to suggest first off to go to Cally’s Tea Shop — it’s really unique and locally owned. But if you don’t have time and just need a quick tea, I am so happy that David’s has set up shop. Pinkies up!

I will admit that this was my first time both in this location and spending any time in a David’s Tea location, but that I have tried their products before on numerous occasions at friends’ homes. I loved how friendly their staff was when I entered the door but the slippery floor is a hazard that needs to be dealt with for cold wintery days like yesterday was, and also for days where it rains, I suppose too! The displays were really eye catching, and I like how the tea can be on display both for smelling and looking at when asked. There are some gorgeous teapots for sale and you can buy tea in all sorts of custom quantities. I like some of the fun flavours and appearances of teas. The cups and free samples upon entrance into the store are also really fun! I really like how they don’t use disposable cups for the samples.

I love the bright and welcoming atmosphere when you first walk in here. I was offered a lovely sample right off the bat(which I ended up buying– I’m a sucker for samples!) I found the staff friendly and helpful. The two lovely ladies working were willing to offer suggestions, let me sniff away, and answer any questions I have. It is a little sad to see small businesses slip away on Whyte ave, but it’s also lovely to see little companies like this pop up. By the way– the teas I picked up were wonderful, and the steeper works like a dream.

I love tea. I love Davids Tea. So this is just the place for me! I’m a poet and I don’t even know it. Anyways, this is a wonderful David’s Tea. It’s huge and has a great selection of merchandise. There’s all sorts of mugs, steepers, teapots, thermoses and more! All of which are fabulous quality, not to mention super cute. Perfect for gifts for any tea lovers. The staff is ridiculously friendly and always super helpful. Whenever I go in I have the most vague ideas of what I want for a tea and they are always more than happy to help me find exactly what I don’t know I want. They have an extensive knowledge of what’s in the teas and can rattle off all sorts of information for you. The service at David’s Tea really is impeccable. If you don’t feeling buying loose leaf tea, you can always get a drink brewed up for you. It’s a nice alternative to coffees and there’s so many options — tea, tea latte, tea pop… The list goes on. I highly recommend you stop by!

I must admit that I was really not sure how to feel when I found out there was going to be a David’s Tea on Whyte. I love the store and the amazing products they serve but do feel that the charming small local business feel of Whyte is slowing slipping away and it is being gradually overrun by big chains. With all that being said however I still feel that this location is a great addition to the Edmonton David’s Tea family. The space is huge which allows lots of room to browse the shelves and wait for drinks without bumping into things or having people all up in your personal space. The staff here are very friendly and the David’s Tea training program is impressive because they all seem to have an extensive tea knowledge and the ability to recommend great products to go with whatever you were planning to pick up without coming off as pushy. They do have a table for sitting outside which was kind of nice as no other locations seem to have seating dedicated for David’s customers in store which I have long thought would be a great addition. With such a large store it would have been nice to see a table or two indoors as well however as im sure as summer progresses and temperatures rise customer flow will greatly increase. Love it or hate it David’s have made their presence felt on Whyte and I do recommend at least one trip to try it out… who knows they just may win you over with their awesome service and delicious products!
