I’ve used this service twice. The first time the service was friendly and my order showed up in a reasonable amount of time. The second time wasn’t very good. I used the online ordering and got a receipt emailed to me a few minutes later. One hour after I ordered, I got a call from them saying that they were at the wrong address, and blamed me for it. They had delivered to the address I ordered from the first time I used the service(about 6 months ago), despite me giving them my new address and my receipt stating the correct one. Like the other reviews on here, don’t order if you’re starving already, or unless you’re desperately craving a specific type of food!

Dial and Dine is, in theory, a great idea. I mean, they will even pick up convenience store items or alcohol for you. I wanted to give them more stars but the one time I used them, they were less than stellar. Ordered online on a Sunday, early evening, to get delivery from Mikado downtown. Someone called me a few minutes later just to let me know that they only had one driver that evening, and was my order a rush? If not, they would call me back in another 45 minutes to officially ring in my order. I appreciated this call, wasn’t in a rush, so decided to wait. Forty-five minutes goes by, no call. I called them back after another 15 minutes, and they said that they had already placed my order, but had forgotten to call me. I asked how much longer it would take, and they quoted me another 45 minutes. Another 45 minutes later, no food yet. After another 15 minutes, I called Dial and Dine back and they said that my food was ready and was the next pick up, but they were just waiting for their single driver to return from the previous delivery. The food arrived about another 30 minutes later. Good thing I made the driver wait while I checked, because he had brought me the wrong order. Luckily, it wasn’t the restaurant’s fault(there was a second order there for someone else I guess) so the driver just ran back downstairs to grab my actual order. The food itself was great, no issues there, but I essentially waited 2⁄5 hours to get my delivery, a real bummer. I would probably use them again but only if I was really desperate.

My last two experiences with dial and dine: 1) I order jamaican, they call back a ½ hour later saying the restaurant isn’t open. 2) I order pizza, they call back a ½ hour later saying the order will be an hour and fifteen minutes. If you’re not hungry, feel free to wait for Dial and Dine and pay them for your time. I opted to drive to the restaurant for pickup, saving myself 50 minutes and the delivery fee.

I’ve never thought of rating this place before because they’re a «service» and not a direct provider, but honestly I can say we’ve ordered from this place over 50 times. No joke. They’re our«go to» option when we don’t want Vietnamese or pizza. They deliver within their time advised, and if the food isn’t great, they’ll advise how to sort it out. Honestly, I’d never give these guys less than 5 stars. They do a service in #YEG that nobody else is filling and I hope they never go away. Thanks for like, 5 years of great service you guys. :) PS We’re the loft with the dinosaur.

Dial and Dine is a food delivery service, providing delivery from a couple dozen local restaurants such as the Highlevel Diner, Khazana, Spicy Garden, Mikado and Rick and Alice’s Grill. It’s the only way to get home delivery from some of these places. There is some repetition in categories, but they pretty much cover the spectrum. Not all restaurants are available in every postal code, but they cover the whole city. While each client restaurant usually has a few paper menus at the door, it’s easiest to go to their website( ) which steps you through the process and has all the menus online. There is no online ordering; you make a phone call and order by number from the restaurant you choose. You pay the full menu price from the restaurant with a delivery charge of $ 5 to $ 7 dollars depending on your location. Gratuities and taxes are on top of that. So, it can get pricey, but for a craving or when it’s snowing out and you still want a treat, it’s an option. It takes about an hour for delivery so bear that in mind. You can also ask them to pick up from multiple restaurants and even convenience stores, but that has an extra charge. When I’ve used them, food arrives in the time window they give, it’s hot, well packaged and the drivers are usually friendly. You can pay by cash or credit card. There is no debit option. While with delivery charges and tip, it’s not a cheap service. They do what they advertise and they do it pretty well.
