Amazing calamari– best I’ve had in a long time. Ravioli was awesome, the prawns had a wonderful grilled smoke flavour. Excellent service too.

My husband and I were there yesterday for dinner. We sat in the bar area and it was very busy, but i order came out in good time. Ordered slow roasted chicken and i had the shrimp ravioli, our meal was delicious and service fantastic. We go there often when we drive to the city. Would definitely recommend this place

I went to joeys the other night with a few of my friends. I had the blue cheese steak with the crispy mashed potatoes and veggies. Ive gotten this meal a few times, and always enjoyed it. However, this time i got to find out what food poisoning feels like. Ive never been in so much pain. I can say i wont be coming back to this location after having to experience that.

We(a group of 10) visited this location for our work Christmas party in January. The server appeared to be attentive in the beginning and returned often to check our drinks. Once we ordered we saw a lot less of our server. When our food was delivered 2 people requested condiments and other items that never arrived and the drinks were no longer filled. Four people at our table requested a glass of water along with their alcoholic beverages but none of them received their water. Besides the initial ‘how is everything’ immediately after the food arrived no one came to the table. The group collectively agreed that the food was excellent but the service was sub-par and the server was overall not attentive once we placed our orders.

Food is good. Drinks on their menu are good. If you want to order a drink not on the menu or do shots at the bar they do not have a huge selection of liquor at all. Nothing too special but a good place for drinks and eats after work.

The food is and so is the service. The bartender has a good knowledge of both the food and drinks

One of the best and most consistently great restaurants in the city. The staff are pleasant and the food fantastic. The atmosphere is casual, the indoor pond is a nice touch. Eat here on a regular basis and can say without hesitation you will be presently surprised

Beware if you have food allergies: I came to Joey’s in Mayfield Common with my co-workers for a lunch meeting today. I was recently diagnosed with a dairy and soy allergy, so I advised the server of this. I ordered the Beach Salad, which I thought would be a safe choice. I asked him to skip the goat cheese just in case and to check if the dressing had dairy. He brought me the salad without goat cheese but it had the dressing on it so I assumed it was safe. He never stated that it was, which was partly my fault for not confirming that he had actually checked if it was safe for me to eat. After about half an hour of eating it, I broke out into hives and got a terrible stomach ache. I assume that either the chicken in it was cooked in butter or the dressing had dairy or soy in it. I thankfully don’t have a serious allergy to milk or soy, but for someone who does, this is very dangerous. The servers and chefs need to be more careful! On the other hand, my food did taste good and my co-workers enjoyed their meals, but the experience was greatly reduced by my allergic reaction.

Joey Mayfield is a great place to go for a business event. Lot of room, plenty of seats and great staff. The prices are reasonable(see photos) and I love the fact that they actually have tasty food in a «business friendly» environment. I’ve taken several clients here and they have all liked it. There is free wi-fi and it’s classy and clean enough to not be ashamed to bring anybody. I ordered the New York Steak, and it came out perfectly and I’m a bit of a steak snob(which Albertan isn’t?) Lots of free parking, well worth going here. Why didn’t it get 5 stars? Not a great deal for the prices, but great quality.

I set up a belated admin professional day lunch here. Staff was pleasant to deal with and they accommodated our large group fine. They don’t take reservations for noon so we ate at 1. Our server was pretty helpful and made sure that our needs were fulfilled, its nice that everyone can order whatever they want and not be stuck to a certain menu … Which places like XIX require. Joeys is a beautiful restaurant and we sat at the long table near the pool of water. Décor is decadent. The garage doors were not open today as it was a bit windy. Our food came out in an ok amount of time, it was a tad slow. My Greek wrap and Caesar salad were alright, with the wrap having a bit of drip that made eating a bit of a challenge. Some of the staff had dessert and our server made sure our drinks were refilled without asking. Other staff assisted with that and the removal of plates. Our bill was settled fine and the experience was great. The staff all enjoyed their meals and said it was a great choice, so yay me. Hip place to be with an attractive crowd and decent eats.

Joey’s has always been one of my fave places to catch up with friends over drinks and food, whether it be south(don’t go as often only because hate driving to southside ha), west or down town. It’s a tie between going to this one and the down town one, as both are only 15 minutes from me, but I go to the westend one to accommodate my westend living friends(yes, I’m a great guy). Always a great atmosphere. Went last night to watch a bit of the hockey playoff games. I got served right away, however, my buddy who came later had to wait over 15 minutes before someone came over. But that was the only low point, as once we got a new waitress she was awesome and kept coming by to check on us. I went to the old favorite, the Ahi Tuna burger with yam fries($ 16 plus $ 1.75 for yam fries sub). I really need to try something new when I come here, but it always pulls me in haha. The only thing I can gripe about is the Stella’s here are more than most places I go to($ 8.50) for a pint, but that’s minor, as I have my fave beer, Shock Top(nice citrus with hint of orange). Our server was nice and chatted it up with us, and as per all Joey’s, easy on the eyes… hey when I write a review I give all the good with the bad :) I would have to rank the big franchises like this as 1. Joey’s 2. Earl’s 3. Moxies. Cactus Club isn’t on here because I have yet to go to one, hopefully will remedy that in the future.

Had dinner here on February 19th. Happy Chinese New Year to you all! The dinner was really good. The appetizers were good too. In the beet salad, the avocados used were still not ripe though so they were a little tougher to eat. My dad had a steak, uncle a Peppercorn steak. My mom a fish dish, my aunt and 2nd mom had a salmon rice bowl. My sister had fish tacos, her boyfriend after appetizers, he had a salad for dinner. My spouse had the Steak and Sushi, myself i got the aha tuna sandwich. Everything was relatively good, the service was really good too! Would eat at this location again.

As we all know — during New Year’s Eve most fine dining restaurants are fully booked. Mitchell and I decided to opt for a casual night out at JOEY. Though this wasn’t our first visit — like all other guests at a restaurant — I had my common expectations. To start off our palate — we had the Japanese Gyoza and Chilli Chicken. Both were light and easy to eat. As for our mains — Mitchell had his usual Bombay Butter Chicken and I had the Ravioli with sautéed prawns. The Ravioli with sautéed prawns was beautifully done with a good amount of creamy sauce to go with my spinach and artichoke stuffed ravioli. On top of that beautiful Ravioli — I had asked for some chicken breast to go with it. It was delicious. Quite satisfying — I must admit. As for the service– there was a lack of attentiveness. Our server failed to ask us how our food were even when he was filling up our glasses with water. I like to believe our server had forgotten to ask since he had asked the other table who came after us. Oh well, bless his little cotton sox! No doubt — JOEY’s food have a good sense of standard and quality whereas the service is nothing worthy to brag about. It was an overall average dining experience.

I called to make a reservation a few days before but they were all booked up for reservations at 5PM and later so I asked if we arrived earlier if we could get a table and she said likely. I arrived first around 4:30PM and was asked if we wanted to be seated in the lounge or dining room. The lounge seemed hopping but when I was shown a table in the dining room, it was about 20% full and lots of room. As the others arrived by 5, the dining room was still about 50% occupied. Not sure the understanding of why I couldn’t make a reservation but that’s ok. Happy we got a table and it wasn’t too noisy. Our table was just passed the curtain from the lobby, and at times I felt a little cool. It’ was a little dark even with candles lit on the tables. The menu has appies, sandwiches, few burgers, sushi, salads, steak, and entrees. I ordered the half rack ribs that came with dill slaw($ 21), and substituted fries for yam fries for a $ 1.75. Our food came out timely after ordering. My ribs were very tender, and had the right amount of bbq sauce so not too tangy and messy. The meat was fall off the bone and so good! The ribs were served on top of the slaw and you could taste the dill. It was lightly dressed and not soaked in dressing. The yam fries came with mayo dip and very good too. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My table mates had chicken souvlaki, butter chicken(spicy), beef dip, and ravioli with shrimp. They all enjoyed their meals as well. I didn’t order dessert but a few had the molten lava chocolate soufflé. It was served with vanilla bean ice cream and fresh raspberries. It smelled and looked good! We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and they wrote Happy Birthday on her dessert plate. The baked to order apple pie wasn’t as much a hit as my friend didn’t like the toasted almonds. It was apples in a pastry folded over top. This dessert could have been shared with another. Service throughout was good with lots of people removing our empty plates and glasses. There was a time when we didn’t see the server and wanted drinks but she came by a few minutes later and brought them. After dinner she brought separate bills to each of us and promptly brought the machine over for those paying with card. Great food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

The boyfriend and I dropped in to this location for a date night; we were seated immediately and in a really nice location of the dining area. The dining area is fairly open, romantically lit with only a slight touch of music(not super loud, like at other restaurants, where you can barely hold a conversation with one another). It was a tad confusing in the beginning; we provided our drink order to one waitress, then had a second waitress come by for our drink order and then a third who was apparently«taking over for the other one»; the first waitress was polite albeit a little shy, the second was also polite and very friendly while the third was not polite nor friendly. The drinks, food and dessert did come out in a timely manner as with being very delicious. We did have the occasional pop in from the second waitress which we really liked because she had a great attitude and a great sense of humor. The food, atmosphere and the second waitress helped us come to the conclusion that we would definitely be returning!
