Oliv Tasting Room

This place is awesome.
I booked a private tasting for an event and they couldn’t have made the process easier. I literally sent an email, confirmed, made a phone call the day before and THAT WAS IT. Painless.
The tasting took place after hours so we could indulge in some wine with our olive oil and snacks, with a choice or red or white. The evening stated off with a history of the company, where in the world their olives and oil came from, about the process and how it differs from other places, the difference between the different kinds of oils, how the different flavours are made and more. If that sounds boring to you trust me when I tell you that it wasn’t. The staff was bubbly, engaging, friendly and so knowledgable.
We started the evening with straight shots of different kinds of unflavoured oil so we could learn to pick out different notes in the scent, taste and aftertaste. After that we were free to roam the store and taste until our hearts were content in addition to the pre-​mixed tasters that the staff provided us with of their more popular combinations. And don’t worry, they provided us with breads, salad, cheeses, cold cuts, pastries and fruits to dip into everything.
In addition to olive oil they also sell balsamics, both white and dark. Did you know about all of the health benefits that go along with balsamic vinegar? If you go talk to the staff you’ll learn all about them too!
The bottles are sleek and black and look beautiful sitting on my counter (I don’t have a cupboard that is tall enough to fit them into!). If you want your kitchen to look as nice as mine does make sure you get over there and pick up a bottle (or 6, like I did) asap.

A beautiful store with an amazing selection of premium olive oils and balsamic vinegars! An experience in itself going to taste all of the flavours! There’s a flavour for everyone, from Chocolate to Fig to Pear to White Truffle… the list goes on and on.
My kitchen is not without oil and vinegar from Oliv anymore. You can taste the amazing quality compared to supermarket oils and vinegars.
These make wonderful gifts too! I’ve been giving them as hostess gifts since I discovered the store (and provided recipe suggestions that Oliv has on their website) and everyone has been very impressed!

I went to a private event last evening and had a blast — they had all their flavors out (and there are a TON of flavours) They premixed some of their more popular combinations and showcased with bread/​fruit/​veggies/​meats/​cheeses and popcorn!
While their prices are a little steep ($ 29 I believe for a bottle of white balsamic) they’re truly worth it. The bottles keep for a year and by that point you’re probably due for a new one anyhow. Go in, chat them up, try some pairings and come out with your own oil/​vinegar favorite combination!
