I’ve been dealing with Omega Cell for almost 10 years now. They ship product to me quickly, have the latest and greatest phones about as soon as you can expect them to and generally have been great at warranty issues and service issue. If you buy the extended warranty they really back up the phone they sell you. If you don’t buy the extended warranty then if you have any issues 6 months down the road you won’t find them very helpful as you opted out of extended service plan. Martin is who I deal with and his super fast in his response and replys to me.

Garbage service, was harassed because I needed a replacement for a defective phone (which was totally not Omegacell’s fault, as it was made in guess, where? That’s Right China… a Foxconn product probably. (you know that black listed factory that blows up, kills people, and the workers riot, and Apple recalled 8 Million in Phones). Not knowing this, my phone died of course, and since I need it for work and contact with extracirriculars as I volunteer on alot of projects… It’s vital. But Omegacell wouldn’t have it… If you wish for quality service, and quality phones that work. Take your business elsewhere.

Omegacell once had an office in Calgary, but they closed down.

If you want unlocked and hard to find cellular phones, this is your one-​stop shop. They do unlocking too, and I’m sure repairs as well. Their service is somewhat disinterested, but acceptable if you have experienced shopping in Asian countries.

This store knows more about cell repairs/​unlocking than most.

Easily one of the best independent cell phone shops in Edmonton. The people who work here are knowledgeable and very helpful.
I’ve had several of my phones unlocked here, and the service is always very quick. Sometimes, I find the store to be too small for the amount of people inside of it, but that’s the effect of their success, and the fact that they like to spend time educating and helping their customers.
The store is always very clean, and it’s pretty close to Whyte Ave, so not bad for transit or pedestrians. There’s always lots of parking, too, if driving is your thing.
The only complaint I’ve heard from some people is that their handsets are too expensive. But when you buy one it’s always unlocked, and you aren’t tied to any kind of contract. That’s the trade-​off and one I’m happy to pay for to not be a slave to a rip-​off cell provider.

If you love cellphones and their accessories, you will love Omegacell. If you love having the newest and coolest phones in the world and don’t want to order them from the internet Omegacell usually has them a few days after they are released.
They provide unlocked phones for pretty much every carrier. So if you want a roger phone on the bell network, they can get it done for you. The prices aren’t cheap though. Unlocked phones come at a steep price but to some it is well worth it. The staff is great, really helpful and friendly. The store also carries cell phone accessories including things that can help protect your phone from damage.
The store is one of a kind in Edmonton.

Omegacell has the best selection of unlocked phones in the city, hands down. It is as good as it gets in terms of phones available, especially if you’re afraid of ordering online. Keep in mind you also pay a premium for a lot of these unlocked phones, as they are not sold with any phone plan to offset the phone costs. If a new phone appears overseas, Omegacell will most likely have it within the following week.
Although some of their phone prices are not cheap, they offer excellent service and the staff are extremely knowledgeable in the cell phone market. Walk inside and the majority of their popular phones are well laid out in a class counter for you to see; don’t be afraid to ask to try the phones too as these are all REAL, charged phones (unlike the dummy ones you see at other stores). One of the staffers even let me use his phone as a demo to see how a ‘used’ version of the phone felt.
If you’re not in the market for one of the latest phones from overseas, you can also look into more reasonable phones with down-​to-​earth phone plans, as they are also a Fido phone provider.
They have also provide thin film screen protectors for your phone, and will even apply it on your phone for you… and trust me, this is well worth the price as it can get extremely annoying if you’re not used to applying them. If you’re looking for the ultimate protection for your phone, Omegacell offers the InvisibleShield film, which they will also apply for you, but for an additional $ 10 (depending on the model).
