Have walked past this place lots of times but never stopped in. Today I wanted to change that, so taking a look I grabbed a seat. My first impression is, wow large group area, but quickly came to notice that all the seating is very standard bar seating, no soft seating, no booths, no place to really stop and relax. Not going to walk away I grabbed supper, a burger with the extras(Alpine burger) with fries. I will say the burger was rather tasty, its flame grilled, party of it was burnt unfortunately but overall it wasn’t bad, a interesting sauce and sautéed mushrooms and onions, fresh lettuce, pickle and tomato, nothing crazy. The fries were different, a crinkle cut but not the normal way, almost a wedge style and with a crispy outside but not over cooked! I would of scored this lounge higher had they — had soft seating or booth seating — not burned part of the burger Not the worst and certainly some room to improve. Additional feature that’s unique: This lounge is part of the SportsDome, a place with a LOT of ball hockey, there is space for you to leave your gear bag out of the way of everyone. Great idea. *** One Note — To get to Spikes, its in the SportsDome, you have to go from Parson’s Road and turn on to 32 Ave, follow it to the end. You cant miss the dome, its a huge Green and White airfilled dome. Can be easily seen from Gateway Blvd when Travelling North. Can NOT access from Gateway.
