When you think Edmonton, you don’t really think bubbletea. Coming from Toronto, I didn’t expect to find comparable bbt in Edmonton. So in this review, I will only compare it to the bbt within Edmonton. I visited this café twice on my visit to Edmonton as a friend of a friend is one of the owners. Interior: The atmosphere was nice and cozy. Perfect place to have a snack and some drinks with friends. It was quite large with lots of seating. They also have a second level for boardgames(similar to the boardgame cafes you find in Toronto) but I didn’t visit that part of the café. Décor was a tad random but you could tell the place was run by friends. Drinks: I tried the Matcha milk slush with natural jelly and the peach green tea with grass jelly. The matcha milk slush was quite good and tasted similar to the green tea frappuccino at Starbucks. It was quite sweet(I wasn’t sure if I could change the sugar level) but the matcha flavour was there. If I was to try it again, I would ask for less to no sugar to really get the matcha bitterness I like. The natural jelly was more for texture than flavour. The Peach green tea was also good. With no sugar, I definitely could get more tea flavour. Compared to another bubbletea place I tried in Edmonton, this was much closer to what I was used to in Toronto. The pearls were delicious and cooked right. Snacks: For our second visit we also ordered the original egg puffs. These snacks are always one of my favourite. The puffs at teapsy were good but I found that they were a little too cooked. Not sure if it was just a bad batch but it could have been taken off the wafflemaker a little earlier. What I did enjoy immensely was the side of matcha whip cream they gave you to dip it in. The only complaint I had about that was there wasn’t enough in the bowl! For a nice place to hang out with friends and have decent drinks and snacks, I would recommend this place. With little adjustments in your sugar levels, it is A-OK!

Grass jelly milk tea is my favorite here! Their waffle dessert, shaved ice, and chicken rice bowl is a must try! Good place to hang with your friends. They have many multi player games for you to play while enjoying your milk tea.

Had been there once and liked their pudding milk tea. Yesterday me and my boyfriend went there again and ordered some dim sums. They are no more than ordinary dim sums(besides the shrimp dumplings taste really strange), and they are really expensive. The deep fried calamaris are $ 7.99 but really, there were just 7 pieces. I pay more or less at Urban China for dim sums but they are way better. The only thing that I liked was their chicken wings. Anyway, disappointed yesterday. I didn’t leave any tip coz they didn’t even give us plates at first. There was 25 cents charge on credit card payment as well.

I love this place. I come here from time to time and their drinks are sooo good. Last night i came inn and they said they have no tapioca balls. On a Friday night… I love my boba so I had to say no to getting a drink. But the place was full… And people were still buying drinks. I have came here around 10 times and they were out of tapioca… 3 times. This seems like it happens often. Why don’t they make more tapioca! Tl;Dr — Place is good but when they have no tapioca balls with makes me sad.

Although many will think why the 2 star? There is many explanations for this. The cafes schedule clearly says it opens at 3 pm but when I got there they were closed. So I just assumed they were a bit late behind schedule. But then I waited for 30 mins and yet they still didn’t open. Wasted my time to bus there. But the food was ok though.

I come here all the time, love the atmosphere of this place! It’s super cozy. Bubbleteas are good too. I really like ordering watermelon juice with aloe.

I was extremely excited to come here because all my friends always go together and somehow i always miss out. But today was the day, and I went with one of my close friend. Sadly, I was extremely disappointed. We went around 2pm on a Monday and apparently they open at 2 instead on 11 like it says on here. Just a correction I guess. It was deathly quiet since they apparently just opened and nobody was in there. I was alright with that i guess. The guy that served us was mannered and nice. At first I had a really good impression because of the atmosphere and the menu was really pretty as well. I order the Fresh Taro Milk Tea($ 5.50 around) and my friend order the regular milk tea(also the same price as Fresh Taro); with that we got the famous Egg Puffs(5.50 $). The thing is, on the menu it came in really special pretty cups and that was one of the things that I was really looking forward to. And I knew the menu wasnt just for show because my friends would show me their drink and it looked so cool. But sadly it came a regular«bubble tea» cup and when i was drinking it I realized that there was no tapioca in it. I guess it was my fault for not confirming if the drink included tapioca or not but still. The saddest thing was I was expecting fresh fruit taro bubble milk tea but it wasnt. I dont know about you but when I drink milk tea/bubble tea I dont like big chunks of ice because it just dilutes the drink. And behold there was chunks of ice in my milk tea in turn diluting the whole drink. On top of that I’m pretty sure the drink was not fresh fruit taro because the drink itself tasted like powdered artificial taro with chunks of fresh taro in it. It was kind of gross because at the end of my drink there were large/small pieces of taro on the bottom of my cup and for some reason it tasted weird. The whole drink was just VERY disappointing. Definitely not worth the money I paid considering it was nothing like what I thought it would be. As for mt friends drink it was tasty but same, we didnt know it didnt include tapioca The egg puffs were very tasty but very expensive. Honestly not trying to compare with other bb tea places but the one in chinatown«bubble king» or whatever has a larger serving size and I’m pretty sure it only costs $ 3.99 while tasting just as good as this one. The egg puff at teapsy is served with macha foam which was alright, not the biggest fan of it. In conclusion I felt like the owners really neglected to serve us to the full extent because we were probably the first customers. The reason why I came to teapsy was because of the unique and authentic atmosphere, design and drinks but in turn 2⁄3 disappointed me. I definitely will give this place another try maybe at a more hectic time because I really wanted to like it. But I definitely wouldnt drive 30 minutes from my house to grab bb tea from here. Whether it is close to closing time or just opening time, they should still serve every customer as an equal instead of being lazy and doing the minimal.

I am going to give this place 4 out of 5 stars but will be returning to update this review at a future date. I was surprised at all of the things on the menu. I expected it to have drinks and just some basic food/treats. Well the menu was quite extensive and had some great items I would like to try. Luckily we were there for an event and got to try a variety of items and some bubble teas. I have been wary of trying bubble tea, it just didn’t sound appetizing to me. Now that I have tried it I really do like it and think it would be a great drink for a hot summer day. The food we sample was great and I plan to return to try some other items on the menu. The wontons were excellent and we had some shaved ice for dessert. Awesome summer food! They also have a rack of board games as well that you can play while you are there. I was really surprised by this place. This place really is more than meets the eye from outside!

Had the pleasure of coming here the first time for a closed event the other week. Standouts for me included the pork wonton with spicy garlic sauce and the sea salt green tea. I thoroughly encourage anybody that remotely likes green tea to try this decadent beverage! It has literally changed my relationship with beverages. Can’t wait to come back! P. S. Takoyaki

Teapsy is one of my new favourite bubble tea places! Their bubble milk tea is awesome and is very authentic tasting. If you get your drink to stay, the tapioca is served on the side which can be kind of troublesome since you have to add it yourself and if you’re impatient you’ll overflow your drink(not that I’ve ever done that…) or the bubbles will just kind of be suspended in your drink so it’s more difficult to get them when you want one. But that’s just nitpicking. The food is alright. I tried a soup there and it wasn’t the greatest thing I’ve ever had. I don’t even know what flavour the broth was trying to be. The hotdogs were good and they had interesting kinds to choose from. I had problems with my waffle because it’s served with ice cream on top and I couldn’t eat fast enough so it got kind of soggy. But I think you’re supposed to share it, so that’s probably my fault for being a pig. I super recommend the egg puff things which come with plain and green tea butter. They are delicious! I have a burgeoning addiction.

So exciting to attend a Unilocal Elite event here last night! Have you ever not gone to an establishment or only ordered the one thing on the menu you’re familiar with because you don’t know what the rest of it is? Well, last night, I learned that Teapsy is far more than Bubble Tea! We were running behind, and luckily they were kind enough to bring us a couple of beverages, wontons… spicy, and a shared dessert that you’ll have to try! It is divine — SHAVEDICE! Passionfruit tea with Aloe bits, delicious! Meats! Wings! And board games, sounds like we’ll have to give it a try when it’s not just Unilocalers enjoying the ambiance. Might be a nice date idea to hang out here one night.

Wowie Zowie! I had the opportunity to come to Teapsy for the first time with a group and it was phenomenal! I HIGHLY recommend the salted milk green tea and the spicy wontons(but ask for them extra spicy). The egg puff with whipped green tea butter was heaven and as fluffy as a cloud! I had no idea Teapsy was open until midnight/1am every night if the week! They have shelves of games — this is def my kind of place! I cannot wait to come back!

For years I have being absolutely infatuated with a certain beverage, that to my knowledge, I thought I could only get in Hawaii… I now stand corrected, and now this luscious, green, creamy dream of a drink is available in Edmonton! What is it you may ask? Well it’s like a green milk shake with real whip and topped with a scoop of Matcha ice cream. Ooooh so good! When I took my first sip i was slipped into a trance that brought me back to the islands. They also have Chinese/Japanese style eggie waffles! Oh, they are so good; crispy, soft and warm and come with a green tea style butter. phenomenal! Teapsy also has a large variety of bubble teas, with a wide assortment of jellies and other accompaniments. Some of which you can’t find anywhere else in Edmonton. Beyond the delectable drinks, they have a rack of games — many of which I have never seen before, that you can sit and play. This café definitely is something special and a fabulous addition to Edmonton’s historic Whyte Ave.

This is without a doubt the best bubble tea I’ve had in the city. It tastes completely fresh and real. They use actual ingredients instead of just flavors, which should be the rule and not the exception. I really like the atmosphere they have put together. It is very relaxing. I haven’t tried their food yet, but it seems to lean towards authentic.

I’ve had two experiences here. One really good and one not so good. Here’s the thing about this place. If you are looking for a cozy place to hang out for a long time and order unique teas and a small selection of snack food, this could be your new favorite place! They have games to play, serve you at a VERY relaxed pace and people seem to stay for long periods of time. However, if you’re looking to order tea and a snack and get in and out in ½ hour to 45 minutes, it my be best to go elsewhere. My 6 small shrimp dumplings(which were supposed to take 10 minutes) took 40! I mentioned my displeasure to the staff and it was comped. My hot tea, however, came more quickly, was excellent and came with a tea light to keep it warm! Loved that! Regardless, good for hanging out with friends, especially on weekend nights if you want to visit and sip yummy teas instead of surround yourself with drunk people. It’s a small place though so your chances of being seated are somewhat slender during peak hours. Oh…and their waffles(which I’ve never had) look pretty awesome and I would recommend that they spend a little more money on their tables and chairs which are basically lawn furniture.

I absolutely love this quirky little café at the end of the main part of whyte ave. most notable are their skill with drinks. Creating beautiful looking picture worthy concoctions. Unfortunately I ate and drank and then thought to take pictures haha! Maybe next time. The japadogs are also quite artistic adding to the chic vibe of the place. Not too expensive either at $ 5 it’s worth it any more would be expensive. The drinks are around the average $ 5 – 6 for bubble tea. Though the portions are much bigger than an average bubble tea cup when in glass. They also do hot pots. Great for winter! Overall an enjoyable experience :).

This is now one of my favorite bubble tea place to hang out. It’s a great location and the parking is good. It’s a refreshing feeling of spring time café with patio chairs and table as a layout. A lot of students come here to hang out considering it’s closest to the U of A. This is a new bubble tea place and so they are constantly working on getting better with there menu. The first time I went I wasn’t too impress with there menu, but now every time I go, they have gotten better. The waffle is a sweet romantic dessert that is meant to share with your honey. LOL Cute presentation on there desserts. Peach Green Tea, Grass Jelly Milk Tea, Coconut Milk Slush with Matcha Ice Cream are some of my favorite choice of bubble teas. The Egg Puff weren’t crispy and was a little hard to swallow. Soup and rice dishes were readily available if you wanted a light meal. Japadog is what makes this café set apart from the others. It’s a specialize hot dog with different kind of toppings placed on top. Be gracious and patient with the staff and try to speak slowly when you order, because some of them; English is their second Language. I always have a blast here trying a different bubble tea each time I visit this café.

I was very excited to try out Teapsy when I first found out this place opened. Too bad my excitement quickly turned into a frustrating first time experience. My girlfriend and I went to give it a try on a Saturday night. Place was was moderately busy, but nothing normal BBT places can’t handle. We ordered 2 bbts(one with tapioca), 2 orders of their wings and a matcha dessert cake of sorts. Not a hard order to write down for a table of 2 people. Then the problems started to happen: 1) They forgot the tapioca in my gf’s bbt. No big deal, this happens sometimes. So we get the tapioca added 2)The wings took a long time, so after 20 minutes we FINALLY get our FIRST of TWO orders of wings??? By this time we’re halfway done our drinks. 3) 15 minutes later we’re still waiting for our SECOND order of wings, while another table got their two order of wings. 4) Dessert still hasn’t come either After 25 minutes from receiving our first order of wings, who I assume is the manager and the waitress come to our table and apologize that the wings will be another 10 minutes for our second order. Keep in mind there’s only FIVE wings per order. So what they’re telling me it takes almost 1 hour to make TEN wings??? So while the waitress and manager was there, I asked«Ok, well where’s our dessert then?» The waitress looked at my girlfriend and I and said«You didn’t order any dessert», and the manager double checks what was written on the order slip… it was CLEARLYWRITTEN by the same and ONLY waitress there who told us we didn’t order any dessert. At this point I was fuming, I just wanted to get out of there. So I paid my $ 15+ bill where the manager said sorry and gave me 10% off… and said the waitress is still in training. Training or not the responsibility is on the kitchen to deliver food items at a decent speed. It wasn’t like they were backed up with orders for 8 course meals. I was sadly disappointed. And it disappoints me further to have to give a negative review. I’ll never go back to Teapsy again.

A new bubble tea(BBT) café in Edmonton deserves a visit, of course! Upon entering, the place was simple and clean with an interesting choice of décor. There was a set of angel wings painted on one of the red walls. The sets of tables and chairs varied throughout the restaurant(ranging from metal chairs to patio swings). We were approached quite quickly and were told we could seat ourselves wherever we wished. Since they were new, their printed menus weren’t ready yet, but they did have 3 panels of blackboard on the back wall listing a large variety of drink and food options. As well, the friendly waitress suggested many things that weren’t listed, such as egglettes(a much beloved snack in Hong Kong). Since I was familiar with the BBT scene, I ordered my regular drink… passion fruit green tea, which was not listed on their menu. My friend ordered a lychee slush and we decided to share one of their PK dogs(Peking hot dogs). The drinks arrived quickly in different shaped cups and there was an intense smell of deliciousness coming from my drink. The PK dog arrived a short while later. I was told this place served japadogs(Japanese style hot dogs — diff sausages with unique toppings), so I was quite eager to try some of these unique styled hot dogs. To be honest, I was disappointed because a hot dog is what I got. The bun and wiener were your normal everyday hot dog ingredients, but topped with a combo of toppings. We ordered the number one, so it came with shredded duck, shredded cucumber, and a spicy chili sauce. The toppings were interesting though so still worth the try. Overall, I would definitely be a repeat customer because the BBT was yummy and I would love to try those egglettes one day.
