My S/O and I are at least here once a week. Their tofu lemongrass vermicelli bowls are to die for — add extra veggies and you have enough food for 2 days. So flavorful you don’t need to add any extra sauces or condiments. I don’t even bother with vermicelli anywhere else in the city anymore, It would not compare. Service is the same as other Vietnamese restaurants– if your expecting to be waited on hand & food I’d pass and go somewhere else. Was surprised when the waiter remembered our orders last time we went in :)

Every time I’m in the area I have to stop here. I always order the lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl gluten free and I am never disappointed. It might be the best vermicelli bowl I’ve ever had! It’s nice that they can tell you exactly what is gluten and dairy free and I’ve never felt sick afterwards. The staff is very friendly as well, great atmosphere.

Banish old man winter(at least for an hour) with a lunch or dinner at this chic little Vietnamese resto. The satay phở is fantastic! Spicy, think and delicious. The spicy peanut flavour really lingers and is amazing! The prawns are plump and juicy(if you go for the prawns) and I had the salmon and prawn, and was surprised that the salmon was a lox style! The noodles we perfect and the basil on the side was super fresh. I also got the green onion cakes and spring rolls. The onion cakes were a bit over cooked and dry and the spring rolls on par with most. But good golly Miss Molly, I can’t wait to have the satay phở again… and lucky for me that’s just hours away because it was so huge I took more than half of it to-go! Woo hoo!

Definitely my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the city! Food is delicious and fresh, and the service is fast and friendly! Salad rolls are amazing and I can’t get enough of the lemongrass prawns! It’s my go to when anybody’s in town to visit.

We went here for dinner tonight. We enjoyed the food. It was fast. The place is clean. It’s nothing special but definitely enjoyable. Our waitress wore at least three bras so that was weird… But we would go again.

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Edmonton. I have gone there about 10x for sit-in or pick-up and have yet to have a bad experience. I order the phở vegetable soup and vegetable spring rolls. My date usually has the ginger beef with coconut rice and a Vietnamese coffee. Everything we have had has been perfect thus far! The service is also adequate. The waitress remembers what we want to order, which is nice. Makes me feel like a special person when we don’t have to say our order.

Always enjoy the food and service here. They know me and my order and it’s almost always tasty. I think I’ve only ever been mildly disappointed once and that was on a lunch hour when they were incredibly short staffed so I cut them a break.

Best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been too! And I love my Phở. The service was great, food was AMAZING, and adequate prices! I always look forward to coming here!

This used to be one of our favourite places to eat when we lived on the south side. Unfortunately, the last time we made a trip to the south side and decided to stop here, it was a huge let down. The green onion cakes were still lovely and perfectly done, but when I got my usual order of lemongrass chicken, I wasn’t able to finish it as therej were multiple hairs in the dish. I had already eaten a fair portion of the meal, and was left feeling very nauseated. The flavour in both my dish and my husbands dish were not up to the standard we were used to. I still gave two stars because the service was decent and the green onion cake were good, but we will no longer be back. It was a huge let down.

I like my Phở. But not from this place. I thought I’d give this place another try after my failed first attempt a while back. Service was great but the food was so-so. Small portions and the Phở was missing a few ingredients. There’s ample parking and the place has a lot of empty tables… I wonder why. The price was a bit steep for the portion size.

I go to Tien Tuyen for lunch fairly often, and have had a wide range of experiences there. Usually it’s decent. Clean(albeit plain) interior, reasonably friendly staff, good food, reasonable prices(except for the iced coffee — good, but not worth the high price here) and we can be in and out for lunch within an hour. This has kept me going back for a long time! I had one experience, however, which sort of ruined this place for me. A coworker and I walked in just after noon, a little later than we usually get there. The front area of the restaurant was fairly full, but that’s not unusual. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated, then were ignored for about 15 minutes despite knowing what we wanted moments after opening our menus. When our waitress finally showed up, we ordered our drinks and meals, which we’ve had before — they usually come fairly quickly. Our glasses of water showed up 15 minutes later. They were warm and mine had some bits floating in it. About 30 – 45 minutes after ordering(an unusually long time for this place), our food showed up. My coworker’s sauce had a dead fly floating in it. By this time we were already going over our lunch hour, so we ate as fast as we could and went up to the counter to pay. As we waited at the counter, our waitress was hovering around, not doing much, but took a few minutes to chat with someone before asking if we were wanting to pay, then directed us to another woman at the counter to actually pay. We left an appropriate tip and left. We probably will not go back.

We were seated right away and left for 10 minutes. We got up and found a waitress(twice) asking if we could order and she came by 5 minutes later. We got water after the appetizers were delivered and we’d been there 30 minutes already. We ordered our food and the dishes came out randomly for each person after another 20 minutes of waiting. It took me 45 minutes to get salad rolls and this was 5 minutes after the entrée of the last person came out. In total we were there for almost 1.5 hours and had mediocre food that you can find anywhere with better service. The waitress turned her back to us when we went to the front to pay and refused to acknowledge our existence until another waitress came by and allowed us to pay and get out of there. This is the worst service I have seen in awhile. After all that they offered us a free order of spring rolls on our next visit. We left it on the table as we will never be returning.

For me this all started with take out, as I was busy at work and a coworker was headed there. I had never known of the place and when asked what I would like I just said just a vermicelli dish. When I received my food, it was quite enjoyable: the vegetables were fresh and delicious. It immediately reminded me of the Calgary Trail Noodle house, but it was in a considerable closer location. The next time I had the chance to stop in, I ordered spring rolls, salad rolls and a sizzling plate. I was disappointed with both the salad rolls and the spring rolls as they were a little different in size and texture than what I was used to. But the sizzling plate was amazing, the only problem with it was that it was too hot to eat! you just had to eat it slowly so you wouldn’t burn yourself. But it was overall worth it, the vegetables were delicious, a perfect mix between crunchy and cooked, the beef was excellent but what made the whole plate was the sauce. It really tied it in together for me, especially when served with the rice. So ever since I’ve been back weekly for work lunches, I’ve noticed that their more exotic dishes are usually better tasting than their standard safe choices. I also have to agree with another reviewer in noting that the interior design of the place is very modern, clean and inviting. As for pricing, it ranges from cheap to average pricing for the food your getting, so it won’t break the bank. In the end I’ve found that it’s worth coming here for some of their more intriguing dishes, but might not be the best for classics.

I stopped in and got take out here a few weeks ago. I am noticing way more Vietnamese restaurants opening up lately in Edmonton so I thought I would check them out for kicks. I am by no means a fan of any particular Asian food as it is usually very greasy and I am not in the habit of indulging in artery clogger type places often. BUT I do get a craving for spring rolls a couple times per year and this was the time. So I ordered a some spring rolls for myself and the ginger chicken with rice for my mom. When we opened up the dishes the rolls were on the smaller side, nothing extraordinary, the chicken the same. My spring rolls had a strong fishy smell that took away from my initial craving and the chicken was a bit tough, not the best I have ever tried. The price wasn’t outrageous but I wouldn’t try this place again. You are better of going to Spring Roll kitchen for bigger and tastier spring rolls.

Drove by here a couple times on my way home so | thought I would try it out. Took my girlfriend for lunch and ended up taking over an hour and a half before our food came out… insane. Food was average, neither great nor bad and the price was decent. Might have been better showing up to eat at 3pm or something.

This had to be by far the nicest looking Vietnamese restaurant in the city. It doesn’t have the moldy smell from dirty rags cleaning tables(Tau Bay), the tacky late 80’s/early 90’s décor(Pagolac South) or rolling carts filled with dirty dishes(Phở Hoa). Marbled tables, pleather seats, orchids lining the walls, Tien Tuyen is quite the step up from your usual Vietnamese affair. Their menus are quite normal: extensive listings of soups, rice, and vermicelli dishes. Surprisingly, the place was quite dead on a Sunday late afternoon. Our server actually was pretty distance. I don’t think she even strung together a full sentence the entire meal. Now, I don’t like it when servers are constantly on you bothering you every five seconds but she didn’t come by to check on our meals. Our meals were quite generic tasting. Nothing surprising. It wasn’t awful tasting by any means but if you gave me a bowl of beef noodle soup from here and one from Sweet Mango just down the street, I probably couldn’t tell the difference. The beef flank was almost half covered in fat so I was a little disappointed with the quality of meat. Their produce was actually quite fresh. The bean sprouts were crisp and basil leaves and lemons deep in color. Price point-wise was pretty standard. $ 8.95 for a bowl of beef noodle soup and $ 3.95 for iced Vietnamese coffee. I’d like to give their other more exotic dishes a spin.
