I work in downtown Halifax so having this place is a gem. The Montréal Smoked meat sandwich is delicious, and the prices aren’t bad for the quality of food being served there. You can get a full MSM sandwich for around $ 8 or a half meat sandwich for around $ 4. I love it. I have to get a pickle on the side every time. If you are looking for«orderly», this isn’t the place for you. Pete’s TGG is almost always busy, between soups and sandwiches. Some people get overwhelmed. I might be the only person in Halifax who doesn’t like the peanut butter soup. I got so hungry writing this review, I had to get one before the storm.

I would only give the ToGoGo a «Meh», and would say a walk to their main store off Spring Garden would have been worth it. Ordering a sandwich was an awkward experience, with it being a «to go» style place, having to ask to see the ingredient(or perch up to see the process) gets a little annoying(for both parties) and slows down the line. If you’re accustom to items that the main stores offers, they don’t have them here, just the basics and not even the pickle/carrot on the side. The place does have many fresh and ready made offerings to choose from, very friendly staff and you cant beat their salads.

Love that Pete’s now has slightly more convenient To-Go spots, such as here and the Dal Hub. I am a huge fan of Pete’s but to go shop for groceries there on a constant basis can be slightly more costly than I can dish out… all the time. The To-Go option allows me to enjoy some fantastic meals once in a while, and save my pennies in the mean time(or should I say nickels?) They have great salads, sandwiches, soups and even pasta’s but one of my favorite things are their perogies! I love a good perogie and anything that is served with sour cream is OK with me! So if you are looking for a quick fix for lunch or dinner, and tired after work so you don’t want to cook, this is a great option!

I went here for lunch and had the ham sandwich. The bread and vegi’s were very fresh. An excellent meal. The sandwiches cost $ 7.50 so a little above average but the quality made up for any price difference. A definite go to. FYI. Pete’s is not on Hollis. The address may be but the store front is on Upper Water street. A huge difference for out of towners trying to find the place.

Food quality: amazing, as usual. Prices: just fine. Service: efficient. Staff: friendly. Line up organization: absolute cluster eff. My one and only gripe is that this is a small space, and if you head down between 12 – 1, you’re very likely to encounter a blob-like mass of people waiting to order a sandwich, order a salad, pay for their meals, or some combination of all 3. The interesting part is that there appears to be no defined line-up structure, so you just have to kind of seize the moment when you think it may be your turn to order/pay. (Note: If you’re cool with pre-packaged, you will save yourself some of the wait/confusion.) The food is great though, the staff are good at their jobs, and your wallet won’t be lightened too much by a trip through Pete’s ToGoGo’s doors.

Pretty delicious little stop over! Had no idea this place was here, but since I found myself walking around the area, I figured it couldn’t hurt to grab some lunch. Atmosphere/Location: 3⁄5 It’s got a nice vibe, and an alright spot. BUT, not exactly a central location in the downtown area, and not easy to spot unless you know where to look. Still, not bad for an eat in. Not comfy, seats are all hard, and at either tables or hightened table top, but not terrible. Line was a little confusing, as I didn’t know where to stand so I could order my sandwich, but not a deal breaker Customer Service: 5⁄5 Super polite, very friendly, and apologetic when they made a small mistake. My bill came to $ 22.00, which didn’t make sense as I’d gotten a sandwich, a side, and a can of San Pelegreno. But, as soon as he noticed, he fixed it and apologized immediately. That’s always good. I didn’t mind, they were real good about fixing the mistake. Food: 5⁄5 Delicious! I got a Chicken Avacado Sandwich on Whole Grain with a Maple Curry Pasta Salad, and it was phenomenal! I can’t go on and on about it enough, so I’ll end it there. This was one of the best made sandwiched I ever had, though it wasn’t enormous. A great taste though. The maple curry was fantastic too. All of it hit the spot! Cost: 3⁄5 The meal cost me $ 13.50 by the end of it. Not terrible, but a bit pricey if you’re doing it every day. I wouldn’t recommend it for a daily trip, but for a once in a while tasty awesome lunch, sure thing. Also not an unreasonable bill for a lunch work meeting. All in all, pretty tasty. I enjoyed it. Would I go back? Sure thing! Not right away, but I wouldn’t pass up a lunch there for sure!

I’ve been going to Pete’s togogo for two years now and I’m a big fan. It is a little on the pricy side, but all of the ingredients are fresh, and delicious. I love that you can build your own sandwich or salad, so you always get exactly what you want, but that they also have pre-made options incase you’re in a hurry. The seating area can feel a little crowded, but I prefer to go eat on the boardwalk anyway(in the summer that is). The staff are always friendly, and even though it is a small spot, they manage to fly through the busy lunchtime lineups. All in all, it is definitely worth the trip. I don’t know that I could afford to eat there every day, but it is definitely a weekly stop!

Good food, but at a premium price. Good location if you work in one of the office towers and want a lunch to go. The lunch specials are hit-or-miss. If you stick with regular menu items you will not be disappointed.

I’ve got to be one of the last people to check out Pete’s ToGoGo at this point but I’ll chalk that up to not being part of the downtown working crowd in the traditional sense. For someone who’s downtown on the daily and looking for a quick bite or something a little more exciting to take back to the desk, this has got to be one of the top options in the city. We’ve all seen the place from the outside but what you won’t realize until you go in is how cool the place actually is. Aside from the outdoor patio that’s been set up for the summer season, the inside just feels really fresh and modern. There’s a mini café to the left serving up your standard barista drinks alongside a refrigerated selection of prepackaged snacks and meals, while the real action happens on the right with a full salad bar, sandwich order station, soups, paninis and more. The West African Peanut Soup is bangin’, the sandwich selection covers all bases(with fancypants build-your-own options like fresh guac), and the beloved Pete’s salad bar is up and running in full force with beets, chickpeas, and all your(ahem…*my*) other favourites. The wifi seems to be available(password: 1234567890) but was definitely dicy. I couldn’t connect for the first 20 minutes or so. Maybe don’t count on this place being a working launch option in that case. The only major gripe is that the line-up situation gets really confusing really fast. I got my soup before the lunch rush but watching all the suited folks try to navigate the system with typical Canadian ‘I won’t say you’re butting in line but you’re totally butting in line’ passive aggression gave me the stressies.

I stopped in for a quick grab and go sandwich, came out with lasagna! What a great little spot Pete Luckett has created. Ideal for the lunch crowd, plenty of naturally lit seating for the dine-in crowd and plenty of take-away options. I wasn’t in long enough to check out the salad bar and the soups, but they looked very fresh and delicious. Prices are very reasonably, my huge slab of lasagna was only $ 5. My only complaint is their take-away packaging in #5 plastic which can’t be recycled in NS. It would be nice to see a place so focused on «fresh» to go «green» as well. Didn’t get a chance to check out wi-fi.
