Floundering is the only word that’s coming to mind. I’m genuinely disappointed because I was the biggest proponent of bringing Pete’s to Campus. I love the company, admire the philosophy and have been blown away countless times by the incredible products and service ATTHEOTHERLOCATIONS. The food is going downhill fast and the service has remained consistently terrible. The caliber of the employees at this Pete’s compared to all the others is just shameful. I’ve never taken issue with the price of Pete’s — even though the prices are higher on campus than down the street — because I’ve always found it to be extremely fair for the quality of the products they sell. That quality is gone, and as a result so am I. Deuces, Pete.

Real talk: This place is expensive. Yes, most food services at Dal are a bit on the expensive side but this feels excessive. Is the food good? Yes? Is it some of the best on campus? Almost definitely. Is the service good? Mostly. Is it well-staffed? Not all the time. I do appreciate the diverse selection(as opposed to, say, burgers and pizza) but I find they often run out of stock fairly quickly. The coffee is also fairly popular. Not sure how that compares price-wise to the rest of campus.

Thank goodness they opened a health-conscious food establishment on campus! I work here and don’t buy lunch often but it’s nice to have options other than gravy-soaked fries and burgers(not that I don’t like those things, but let’s be honest, they’re not so good for you to partake of on a regular basis!). I haven’t tried the salad bar but plan to in future — everything looks really tasty and fresh. They also have things like packaged sliced fruit and pita chips — great if you just want a healthy snack on the go. The muffins are really tasty — you wouldn’t think zucchini and walnuts would taste good together in a baked good, but I was pleasantly surprised! They carry Java Blend coffee which means a) supporting local(yay!) and b) deliciousness. I imagine during the school year and at lunch the line-ups are probably a pain but the few times I have gone in the morning this summer, there has been no one there and the service was really friendly. There is a section of comfy booths just to the side as well, which is a great place to sit and read or have a chat with a friend while you munch. You will definitely pay a bit more for items here than you will around the corner in the main cafeteria, but imho it’s worth it for the quality and healthiness. All in all, a great new option on campus for lunch!

I heard this was a execellent place to eat if you work in the down Halifax. Prices are good. Health food is also available if you want nutrition in yout diet. Friendly people also waiting on the customers. All the best to Pete’s ToGoGo

Never been to a Pete’s Togogo before. But thankfully they decided to open one in SUB. I think that is a right move. We students need better alternative than the usual suspects in the building. For once, we not only have better food choice but also have better service. Its still new and they are playing around with their combos and products. I like their morning sandwich combos with Javablend roasted coffee. The bread they use is really good. Will definitely be a «rePete» customer to this one.

In the neighbourhood, in need of a solid lunch and with little time, I opted to test out the new Pete’s location. The lineup was a bit disorganized, as it’s cramped into a smaller space than the Dresden Row location, so people were weaving in and out, waiting in the wrong line, or cutting the line to get soup even though there were people close to the register and simply waiting to pay. That said, the salad offerings are on par with what you expect at the home base location, and mine was definitely trying to escape the small salad box. For $ 8.05 with tax, it’s a dense nutritious lunch that you really can’t go wrong with, since you get to pick every last morsel that goes inside. Yum. Be warned — if you’re here at peak hours it’ll be hard to find a place to sit in the SUB but this is a great to-go option.

Extremely good new addition to the SUB, incredibly friendly staff, sandwiches are a tad expensive but worth every penny. One of the best food establishments to be instated on Dalhousie campus in the past 5 years I’ve been here. Black male long haired employee is cute and positive.

Welcome to my new favourite place on Dal’s campus. I have to say, it seems like Dal is taking it up a notch on opening up better tasting food amenities. Okay, back to the review. This food booth just opened less than a month ago and it has a variety of freshly made food; sandwiches, THEBESTSALADBAR, smoothies, coffee, baked goods, soups, etc… It’s Pete’s Frootique’s little restaurant so you know its quality. I ordered the Breakfast sandwich with sausage and it was delicious! However, I would have preferred if the egg and sausage were warm(they were made in the morning so they were cold). I found that the line-up was very long and it took the cashier a very long time to put us threw — but to be fair, this is probably the best food place on campus so it’s always insanely busy. Other than cash going slowly, the staff if quite friendly and helpful. It’s pretty expensive here but the way I see it… Cheap with no taste? Or expensive quality taste?

I visited on the third day open and it’s cool. The lunch line wasn’t long at 11:45 am but it got longer as I waited. They serve soup, salad, sandwiches, snacks, bakery, hot and cold beverages. I think the prices are the same as downtown at $ 7 for a small salad and sandwiches $ 7 – 8. There are two checkouts and the wait was no longer than anywhere else on campus at noon. The salad station could have moved faster and the salad didn’t bust outta the container like they do downtown, that could use some improvement. Of course you have to wrestle to find an empty table in the SUB, so try your luck.
