Pier 1 Imports

I like Pier 1. And that’s my review. :-D
Pier 1 is the type of store one should only enter when one has a specific item in mind. It’s difficult to pass up the glassware, dishes, candles, cushions, wall art, etc etc etc otherwise. Heck, it’s difficult to pass it all up even with a mission.
Staff are always friendly and helpful. I’ve actually bought a boatload of place mats for gifts here, as well as wine glasses, bowls and candles for myself. Items are mostly reasonably priced and you can usually find a good sale here also. It can be a tight squeeze through the displays when it’s busy, but other than at Christmas I honestly don’t encounter big crowds.
Selection of all things homey is fabulous. This is my first stop for accents and gifts for the home.

I’ve wandered around Pier 1 (both locations) on several occasions, but never really made any purchases. A few bits and pieces and gifts here and there but that was about it.
I recently moved to a new place and am hunting for accent pieces to bring everything together, and I need to do it on the cheap.
I spent some browsing the website to get an idea of what they had before I went in. And of course as soon as I walk through the door I’m overwhelmed by all the different options available.
One of the sales people came to my rescue. I have to say Roxy was fantastic. I told her what I was looking for, in what color options and she went right to work putting together things she thought would work. In the end I ended up purchasing one of her suggestions which works perfectly in the space. Sure I spent a few dollars more than I wanted even though the pieces were on sale, but they are the perfect fit for what I was looking for.
Of course two of the pieces I had gone in looking for weren’t available in store. And for whatever reason ordering off their site for delivery to Canada isn’t an option, which is a bit frustrating.
I particularly love their colorful glasses and dinnerware. If I hadn’t already bought a set elsewhere I would have snagged a set of their’s!
All in all a stress-​free visit to this store will, I’m sure, lead to subsequent (and probably more expensive) visits!

After seeing a flurry of repetitive and cute commercials I decided to finally check out Pier 1 Imports. Housewares and decorations are infinitely exciting. The store is a feast for the senses, some more than others. Avoid the scented candle section of you don’t like sneezing. It is extremely powerful.
I was also on the hunt for a giant fork and spoon wall art. Not paintings, actual giant cutlery. I did find a giant fork and a giant spoon but they were $ 80 each. I draw my line at $ 40 for giant cutlery. I have to admit that I was sucked in by the anthropomorphic decorations and furniture in the commercials. A talking ottoman? I needed to check this place out. Overall they have very nice standard decorations. There are some really nice pieces that are unique. But everything is quite pricey compared to say Winners Homesense that offers different stock constantly.

This store is by far one of my favourites! I absolutely love shopping in here and I always find the best sales!
I am a huge fan of their liquid inscents. I love most of the smells and nearly everytime I’ve gone in there, I get a great deal on them.
I also love the Christmas ornaments they have for sale during Christmas time. I’ve also decorated a lot of my home with furnishing from here. It can be quite expensive, so the key is to go in often and look for the sales.

Pier 1 Imports carries some very cool items. A lot of wicker products and nice wood.
This store is nicely layed out for shopping. I did find the prices can be pretty high. I could not find a set of baskets I was looking for.
There is not a lot of staff on hand, but it seems that is the way with all stores lately.
You can find some great deals when there is a sale on to furnish your home. I will give them credit in that the items they carry are unique, which is really nice when decorating. If you have eclectic taste, this would be a great store for you.
