From outside the place is not attractive. Interior is not exactly fancy as well. Food on the other hand is pretty good.

Sushi is pretty good here. Been there a handful of times now using their ipad system to order food. Price is good compared to the other ayce sushi joints in the GTA… Food is fresh and quick.

Have been here so many times. The food quality is getting worse. If you have higher standards for sushi and sashimi, here is not a good choice. good price and good tempura A good place for a meal

Food is excellent and service is great. I like how orders are placed on an iPad, it’s a nice feature that makes things a lot more convenient. The restaurant tends to get a bit busy during dinner hours, so come early or make a reservation in advance.

One of my favourites! Great service and delicious food every time. They’re always quick and their menu is big enough to always try something new. Get the garlic steak and the pumpkin tempura! The custard buns for dessert are also awesome.

I’ve been to this August 8th location twice and it is absolutely top notch service and quality. I plan to visit regularly

Bad food hygiene and service. We discover worm in the food and server did nothing to make it up.

Hands down best sushi in Hamilton. Don’t even talk to me about anywhere else. Seriously. Don’t. Freshest, yummiest, fastest, cheapest, cleanest, trendiest, and many more –iest(meaning THEBEST) adjectives describe August 8. Just go. Right now.

Updated Review: I’ll never go back to this location again. My girlfriend and I went here for our usual once a month lunch out, and my girlfriend has an allergy to shrimp. We always order separate and our orders take a bit longer, but that’s fine. We waited twenty five minutes between orders, not to mention one order had a SINGLE piece of mango chicken. Food quality has went down tremendously. To top everything, they weren’t even busy. Nobody apologized for the fact we were there for an hour and a half, or anything like that. This experience was absolutely pathetic and I’d recommend everyone stay away from here.

I love Sushi and Dim Sum and being able to get BOTH for one price in the same great place is fantastic.

Omg yum, who doesn’t love all-you-can eat sushi and ordering on fancy ipads? Although I’ve only been in Hamilton for 3 months, I can venture to say August 8 is my favorite Japanese restaurant in the area(although coming from Vancouver, I’m kind of a Japanese food snob). If you’re not ordering all you can eat, they have the usual selection of rolls, sashimi, tempura, salads, soups, hands rolls etc. ANDDIMSUM! This one is a little strange, yet somehow they make it work. I tried their shrimp dumplings and hot and sour soup, and I have to say, definitely a fan. Their rolls are massive and generally a great deal, ranging between $ 3 for your basic California roll to $ 11 – 12 for their most complicated. Usually I can order a soup and a roll and be completely satisfied. 5 pieces of salmon sashimi is only $ 5 – 6, so if you’re looking for something light, you can definitely order some soup, edamame and sashimi, and still feel relatively full. In terms of all you can eat, their lunch is under $ 16(which is an amazing deal), and their dinner is $ 26.99(kind of pricey after tax and tip). I’ve gotten both before, and I really wish I had been more hungry for the all you can eat dinner. However, they don’t have a limit on the number of sashimi pieces you can order, like usual all you can eat places. They also don’t really charge you for leftovers(just don’t be wasteful)! Food comes out pretty quickly, and everything tastes pretty fresh. In Hamilton, I’ve also been to Sapporo, which I thought was pretty good as well, especially their sashimi, however I prefer the atmosphere, service and options at August 8. Would I come again? YESDEFINITELY. Next time I get a Japanese food craving, I’ll be back!

A very contemporary restaurant. Great décor. All you can eat sushi and dim sum. You Order off an iPad that each table gets when they are seated. The food come out fast and quality was good. Definitely coming back when I’m back in the area. Great service and great food.

Delicious for Hamilton. One of the best AYCE sushi places in Hamilton, though there are many places in Toronto that are better. The portion sizes are relatively small(they don’t stuff the sushi with a ton of rice) or make their maki rolls ginormous. There is also a selection for dimsum for those who like to eat it combined, which is very unique for a sushi place.

I go here pretty often with my friends. I’d say it’s one of the best AYCE sushi places in Hamilton, albeit a bit expensive. They have a diverse menu, from your basic sushi/sashimi options, to dim sum, noodles and teppanyaki. I really love mango/mango sauce on sushi(don’t judge, I know you love it too) and this is one of the few places I’ve seen that serves it. Every time I come, I stuff myself so full I go into hibernation. Will definitely be back once I come out of this food coma

You can’t go wrong with all you can eat dim sum and sushi for $ 16! Dim sum dishes are good and most rolls are well made, I recommend the spicy salmon sushi(not roll — the sushi), the steamed bbq pork buns and shrimp dumplings. You can pass on the futo maki, hot and sour soup and cheese wontons. Lots of space, fast service and great atmosphere :)

A surprisingly awesome AYCE sushi in this city. Almost everything we ordered was delicious. The sashimi was fresh and appropriately sized, the cooked food was great, and even the dim sum was amazing! The only dish I regret ordering is the«lover sushi» which is basically a nacho chip with 95% corn and 5% other ingredients lopped on top of it. Oh and the asparagus and bacon wrap wasn’t as good as it sounded. Also, the specialty sushi rolls were small and had slivers of sushi on top but were still decent. Everything else was great though! The fact that they have dim sum is just icing on the cake. They also have a very smooth iPad ordering system that worked very well for ordering and getting the waitresses’ attention. This is probably one of my favourite AYCE joints now.

Who doesn’t like ayce sushi and who wouldn’t want to have dim sum, too? The service was fast and attentive. It was cool and efficient to make an order using an iPad. Unlike other iPad restaurants, this place has a nice custom-made casing for each iPad as well. This place is good for groups. In terms of quality of food and pricing, it’s similar to places like 168 Sushi Asian Buffet. Everything tasted very fresh. Note when I got to the restaurant, I was pretty hungry. Likes: –Seaweed salad –Salmon sashimi –White tuna(butterfish) tataki –Sticky rice –Deep fried squid –Beef mushroom roll –Tiramisu –Bonus points for the cool name of the restaurant Ok: –Scallop tempura –Har gow –Lover sushi was interesting; made on a Pringles chip –Red dragon roll –Spicy seafood udon soup Dislikes: –Chicken feet: I shouldn’t have given this a try. Just not for me. –Miso soup Price: -$ 30+ per person for dinner including taxes and tips

I came for lunch here on a Thursday at 1pm for their all-you-can-eat at $ 15.99 a person. The décor and look of the restaurant inside was very nice. It’s like going to a Moxie’s or Keg and not an AYCE sushi joint. Service was good — ordering is done on an iPad so you’re not waiting around for the server to come when you’re ready to order. The food tasted fresh and delicious! As a bonus, they’ve got dim sum on the menu as well. I had some shrimp and chive dumplings from the dim sum dishes and that was delicious. There wasn’t any special«dim sum» sauces that came with it so I was just using the sushi soy sauce for dipping. For the sushi, I liked that some of them can be ordered in a quantity of one. It may seem insignificant but when there are lots to try, ordering a single piece of a variety of different types of sushi makes it so you can try many things and not get full right away on just one dish. I like the beef short ribs from sushi restaurants and ordered those on this occasion here. They were quite good. The only thing was that I was started to get quite full by the time I started eating the short ribs so I only ate one out of the 3 or 4 pieces it came with. They weren’t all the same thickness — had one thin piece and some thicker pieces. I personally prefer short ribs to all be thin pieces. But again, I’m about eating smaller quantities of each and taking in more variety. They serve you wasabi and yellow pickled ginger with your sushi here. Great food, great experience, and I would definitely come back!

So while my friends and I were in Niagara Falls we were craving dim sum and we didn’t want to drive super far to where I usually go when I visit my relatives in Canada. We fell upon this place it’s a little less than an hour from Niagara Falls and at first we didn’t know what to think, an all you can eat dim sum and sushi place is so out of the ordinary. Although I was skeptical my cravings for dim sum were pretty big so we decided to give it a try. Although it’s dim sum menu is small, I overall LOVE this place. It’s such a good price for an all you can eat place and had relatively good quality food! Love how contemporary the place was and all the orders are placed on an iPad which serves as a menu. It made service easy and fast. The staff were really kind and the food was good. It’s such a unique place! Definitely coming back for more.
