On the Docks Pub

The On The Docks Pub is a really nice place to get a drink, but the food is just okay at best. The place is clean, has great views from the back deck and patio, and has nice friendly staff.
We got there just before noon so we had the pick of seats and chose a table on the back deck with a wonderful view. We ordered the nachos and the pork button bones, washed down with a couple of drinks. The nachos came pretty much as described, a nice big helping with plenty of toppings, but the sauce was a spaghetti sauce not a salsa so the overall flavor wasn’t that good. The pork button bones were a bit better, but were just too plain and lacking flavor, even though I ordered the supposedly spicy Cajun flavor.
The servers seemed a bit distracted the whole time, carrying on a deep conversation among themselves, so service wasn’t the best.
If I come back I’ll stick to the drinks and view and skip the rest.

Food was great, service is great. But our food took 50 minutes to come to our table. Food wasn’t that great to say it was worth the wait. The view was awesome so we had that going for us.

The service was very good. The menu has some great offerings for almost any appetite. Healthier choices as well. My wife and I had the lemon peppered chicken salad. It was excellent. I would recommend this place.

Sehr nettes Pub direkt am Hafen! Gute Auswahl an verschiedenen Salaten. Ich habe dort schon zweimal den Caesar Salat gegessen und war immer zufrieden. Ansonsten gibt es auch viele andere Kleinigkeiten zur Auswahl. Leckere Wraps und Burger! Heute habe ich mal einen Käsekuchen probiert, welcher aber nicht meiner Vorstellung von deutschen Käsekuchen entsprach. Nach drei Gabeln voll war ich satt. :-) Ansonsten sehr zu empfehlen! Super Musik im Hintergrund und die beste WLan Verbindung in der Stadt. Natürlich gratis.

Pleasant surprise — good quality pub servings with a nice riverfront view in Downtown Huntsville. Worth a visit & return visits.

A nice place, with decent food and selection of drinks. I enjoyed my quesadillas and local beer. The highlight is sitting on the patio upstairs and looking out over the lake and canal.

Hubby and I have been coming here for 16 or 17 years and it has been a favourite for it’s location — in the heart of town and on the water — and ambience and food. They have done many renos and additions recently, adding much more patio space. The beer list is still good, the staff are still friendly and quick. Our food today, however, was sadly neither good nor reasonable. $ 12.99 for veggie nachos that had about 20 chips, 4 small pieces of tomato, 6 small pieces of green pepper, a reasonable amount of cheese and a LOT of green onion. The spring rolls, which have been a favourite for us, were bland, burnt on the outside and undercooked inside. We were quite disappointed.

Really expensive which would be ok if their service was as better. We had a blonde waitress that was not paying much attention to our refills, and when I went inside to use the bathroom she was just standing around. The food was good, but I wouldn’t get the overpriced wings, nachos and wraps are awesome and actually worth the price.

I have to give this place lots of stars just for the quality of the staff. With 4 adults and 3 kids, on a Friday night, we tried a place down the street and were rudely rebuffed, so we were pleasantly surprised at how accomodating the staff at On The Docks was. They moved stools from the bar to a round table to fit us all in, and did so happily. They made our night with their friendly service.
Food was basic pub fare at reasonable prices. Not the greatest beer list (i hate a place that offers Rickards red as your «dark beer» option), but that is the only negative thing I have to say. I enjoyed my greek salad with chicken, everything was tasty and they treat you well.

My roommate is from Muskoka and I recently went home with her for a long weekend. We stopped by On the Docks to meet her friends for drinks.
Since it was summer, we enjoyed sitting outside at the upstairs bar. The crowd was laid back, the live music was good, and I knocked back a couple of Bloody Caesars.
The area of town nearby really makes On the Docks lots of fun. I can imagine how busy it gets when winter makes everyone stay indoors!
