You cannot trade quality for quantity. The food used to be very good for the kelowna area but not great compared to larger urban centres. Most recent experience will be the last. The food was awful. Soggy tempura. Greasy spring rolls, bland seafood on crunchy noodles. We have eaten all these dishes in the past and they were good. On our previous experience all the pork served was sour. Quality has gone off the deep end. When you spend $ 50.00 to feed your family you do not want to be disappointed. The proprietor should take a hard look and compare to other larger city restaurants(½ the price and 10x the quality) Shocking!

So good we ate there twice today. For lunch we had spring rolls then we went on a 15 mild mountain bike ride, worked up an appetite and came back for dinner. For dinner my wife had the Chicken Vermicelli Bowl and I had the War Wonton Soup. Neither of us had anything left when finished. To top it off the wait staff was on Their game.

Had high hopes for Hoang Gia, as it was recommended by a friend for the quality of the vermicelli bowls. I had the springs rolls and the sauté Phở with chicken. The broth in the phở was technically very well done, clear and tasty but in the end, lacking in a true depth of flavour. Tasty yes, but not yummy and satisfying. It appears all phở in Kelowna is made with a dedicated beef broth, and when you add chicken to the bowl, it tasted out place. There was No denying the quality of the ingredients and the cleanness and clarity of the ingredients in the Phở though, it just needed more layers of flavour. The spring rolls were terrific, a satisfying non greasy crunch with a good satisfying taste to the filling, a well balanced dish. It leaves me still looking for the perfect Phở in Kelowna though! Something with the base flavours and clarity of this phở with some more levels added!

Came back a second time. Ordered a large #27 Phở(special). It tasted good but the portion was small. Hate to imagine what the small sized one looks like. They ended up charging me $ 2 for tea. It wasn’t even something unique just some jasmine tea bag in a pot of hot water. This made me angry. I hate places that nickle and dime you like this. A little warning would have been nice. The two stars are for the food. I would not recommend this place and I sure ain’t coming back.

Seriously? This place would get a negative score if I could give it. We went here based on the reviews. We eat a lot of Vietnamese food as we travel in various countries. We enjoy the food enough that we spent six weeks traveling in Vietnam for the food and culture. With that out of the way, this restaurant is a poor example of real Vietnamese food. I’ve had better in Canadian themed restaurants. It’s been a long time since I tasted such a bad phở tai. The rest of the table was equally uninspiring. Definitely not recommended.

BBQ pork skewers are some of the best I’ve had. This place is a nice, clean and modern restaurant definitely worth a visit. If only I lived closer, I’d be a regular here!

I ordered the grilled chicken vermicelli dish(I think it was #36, approx $ 10.95). Perfect portion size(not too large), good price. Deliciously tender chicken, beautiful fresh vegetables(lettuce/basil) and bean sprouts. Friendly service. Clean tables. Will eat here again when we are in Kelowna! Oh, one thing though… there was no sriracha or hoisin sauce on the table for dipping.
