Why does this place only have 3.5 stars?! Don’t let the lame name and logo discourage you(like it initially did for me). Great food, great patio, great service, one of the best charcuterie boards I’ve experienced and THE best Caesars I’ve ever had(that’s a serious title). I loved every dish that we ordered. We shared the Artisan Deli board to start which included prosciutto, salami, elk chorizo, cheddar, mozza, pickled asparagus, olives, tomatoes, arugula and pickled mustard. Generous portion for 2 with flat bread to slap those toppings on. Next we shared the spicy Korean beef tacos(Sweet mayo, shaved cabbage, pickled carrot, jalapeño, cilantro, pineapple salsa on corn tortillas). The pickled carrots and sweet pineapple salsa helped balance the nice spicy kick. The order came with 3 tacos. Finally we shared the Albacore Tuna(with warm potato salad with double smoked bacon, confit tuna, green beans, organic BC mushrooms, oven dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, shallots, Mediterranean dressing & tarrago). Generous portions of tuna with a definite Mediterranean flavour throughout the dish. LOVED the variety of organic mushrooms and the crispy green beans gave the dish some crunch. The Caesars had the perfect blend of spice and savoury-ness. They include fresh dill, not only in the mix, but also along the rim for that extra flavour I’ve yet to see anywhere else offer. It’s usually the garnish on the Caesar that’s the winner for me, however it was just your standard pickled bean, pickle and olive on this one — however the Caesar itself was so good that it made up for the average garnish. Great patio space overlooking the water with plenty of seats. Only downside of the patio are the low tables that require you to kind of hover over to eat which doesn’t make for the most comfortable dining experience. Overall, great service, excellent food and an amazing view to enjoy. Solid 5 stars. 1 star for the logo-design… I can help you with that! ;)

One if my favourite places in Kelowna. The staff are fabulous and enjoy working there so much they often all stick around for a beer to enjoy with each other after their shift. The décor is beautiful and the patio is the perfect place — comfortable seating, gorgeous view and good vibe. My only complaint about this place is that there are WAY too many bar stools at the bar and they are extremely heavy and awkward to move. The food is fresh and delicious. The pizzas are light and bright. I love the sweet potato in the garden salad. Reasonably priced and everything is good. Highly recommend!

Went to smack dab for my one year wedding anniversary and received extraordinary service from Wes. My wife requested a patio seat at peak dinner time. Although they could not promise a patio seat, we were escorted to our patio seat with flowers that I ordered ahead of time. The hostess was mindful of the special occasion when I had to go back to the car for the parking pass. She did not take my wife in first ruining the surprise of our seat and flowers but waited until I returned. There was a fair selection of food on the menu and we decided to go with the angry chicken and beef and prawn dishes. We chose the tomato soup and grilled cheese as our appetizer. The tomato soup and grilled cheese appy was very good. it is a simple dish but how can you ever go wrong with grilled cheese? The amount of cheese inside was almost a thick as the slice of bread it came with. The soup was a good addition for dipping and was drizzled with olive oil. The angry chicken was soft and juicy with lots of peanut dipping sauce for the half chicken. The thai salad came with fresh vegetables and more peanut dressing. My wife found that it was on the rich side with so much peanut butter throughout the dish… and she is a big fan of peanut butter. I had the beef and prawn dish that came with butternut squash under the prawns. The beef brisket was very soft and the prawns were not overcooked. The dish came with bok choy that was cooked per erectly and was not bitter Overall I would recommend anyone thinking of trying smack Dan to give it a shot. I recommend the patio for a great view especially for dinner to catch the sunset.
