Sad, sad !! Cabana was once a really good restaurant. However, our last experience there(July 2014) was dreadful. We could see staff playing on their phones from our table, service was slow(waited over 35mns for entrees), and the food was just plain bad. Dry, overcooked, tasted like frozen food. Not surprised to see the place closed down, it did deserve to be put out of its misery. :(

This restaurant is currently closed. It changed owners last year and closed soon after.

Not bad, but service is poor and their menu is terrible you can’t read it, the font is so small. Just appears they cheaped out on it. Atmosphere was good. Food was so so.

Worst. Dinner. Ever. We waited 1h15min to get our food. We had our food because we threaten them to leave. Food was just disgusting. The Thai curry seemed to have been cooked 2 days ago, the rice(who can failed a meal, especially cooking rice???) was all packed and way too sticky/gooy. The burger was un-believable dry, buns were cold and it was missing bacon and grilled onions. How can you freakin’ miss bacon in a bacon burger??? The waitress was kind enough to offer us a beer«on the house» for the wait… After having tasted the meals, and chat with the manager, we just left without paying anything on her final suggestion. Not worth our time, not worth a dime, just a waist of our time. Obviously, we will never go back again.

We chose cabana because we had a good experience last year, but the place has gone downhill fast since– no one was there to greet or seat my group. We finally have a table pointed out by a waitress and there’s a huge mess from the breakfast buffet that was left out. After ordering we get our Caesar’s and they have no rimmer. We waited quite a while for our food and noticed one of the waitresses was coughing and her nose was running, obviously sick. After getting our food, my pizza crust was burnt and I just wanted to leave. I would never go back there, I see them going out of business in the near future. Save yourself the hassle and go anywhere else!

I ate at the Cabana Grill just about every day while I stayed at the Manteo Resort(just across the street). I loved their selection of wines as well as their mixed drinks. I often ordered their salads(can’t think of the name of my favorite one) along with a cheese board. I even went back with visiting colleagues. I definitely recommend them.

We went in with a larger party at around 5, as I have a one and a half year old, and we had a great experience! Right away they brought my daughter some carrots and celery with a little dip to snack on, which scored points for me! I’ve never had a restaurant do that, and it’s awesome! Our waitress was one of the best I’ve ever had. A little slow at the end, but nothing to complain about. When I asked about changing my sauce on my fish from fennel to anything else, she was more than accommodating and got right back to me with a different sauce option. The fish of the day — sablefish — was fresh and excellently prepared. My friend had the prime rib and he thought it was a touch fatty. I tried a bite and thought the taste of the grill on the meat gave it a great real BBQ taste. It was 14 ounces, so it’s not like you could eat it all anyway. My husband had the chicken and thought it was tender and delicious. I would hands down come here again for steak or seafood as I thought it was very reasonably priced. The staff was great with my daughter and I think it’s a great place for kids as well as a nice dinner out with friends. I really have no complaints. I also think the music on Friday night and Saturday night would be fun for a night out on the town without kids. But I’m a sucker for any kind of live music :)

Food was alright but the service made up for the lack of food quality. The server was attentive and being my first time there, it made a positive first impression. Great pool hall but wouldn’t characterize it as a steakhouse.

Very pleased with the food and service. We arrived around 8:30 on a holiday Monday and it was quiet as you’d expect. Therefore I can’t comment on speed of service. Because of the modern up market appearance I was expecting cookie cutter food at inflated prices. Neither was the case. Appropriate portions were professionally prepared and served quickly with care. Our server had good knowledge of the wines and food and easily memorized the orders for the 3 of us. Next time in Kelowna this would be one of our first choices.

This place has a great atmosphere and the menu looks like it will be great however, it’s a total letdown. Also, it’s totally overpriced. I had the falafel calamari to start; it was weird in flavour. The pineapple, falafel and citrus yogurt were a strange combination and for me, didn’t quite work. I followed up with the special fish halibut on risotto. The halibut wasn’t juicy and lacked flavour however the risotto was fantastic — best part of the meal. We were with a group of 6 and most of us were underwhelmed. Wouldn’t return.

Food was ok. Nothing stellar. Asked waitress for a water after my pizza was finished and I never saw her again. Had to go to the front to pay as I was being held hostage by the waitress. Did not leave tip. Would not go back.

Everything about this place just works. The menu is great, the design is great and the service is consistently great. The only complaint is that its less of a place to come and talk intimately than to come and be entertained by the lively, party atmosphere. In that sense, it has more of a pub feel but with better food. The patio is usually quieter though and really nice in the summertime. It’s a happening place to meet up with friends.

This might be my favourite restaurant in Kelowna for the sole reason that I can go in there with friends or my kids and still have the same experience. The food is flavourful(although I still want the tropical tuna salad to come back on the menu), the menu has a range of choices & prices, their live music nights are good & not too loud and they have a good wine list. I find their service to be consistently good. But coming back to the kid part, I can bring my kids here without it feeling like a family restaurant. We go into the restuarant, my kids are handed colouring sheets, the staff treats them well and their kids’ menu has some good choices on it. We’ve been into their lounge on a number of occasions — the people watching is pretty great.

Good food and friendly staff makes this a great choice for a patio in the Okanagan Mission area. Last Saturday evening wife & I shared the 3 dip appie and then thin crust pizza for dinner. Live entertainment playing in a very«Jack Johnson» kind of way. My only negative comment was when the entertainers took a break, the canned music didn’t match the genre and was VERY loud. It took a good 5 – 10 minutes before the staff turned it down. All in all, a good experience and we will return. Lew

I was very impressed with Cabana! My sister-in-law got married on Friday afternoon and we came to Cabana for the reception dinner.(It was a small wedding — about 20 people total.) The bride and groom had rented Cabana’s private room for the occasion. The restaurant and the room itself were quite lovely. I liked the sliding door and it was close to the bathrooms. The doors meant that the room was nice and quiet for speeches, too. That was great! The staff were very attentive throughout the evening. They changed the TV from hockey to the fireplace video(very festive!) and were quick with food, drink and anything else we needed. Our menu choices were pretty good. I was really pleased with my sirloin and mushroom garlic mashed potatoes. They weren’t even too mushroomy(I hate mushrooms), and the steak was perfect. Juicy, tender, and cooked to medium-rare perfection. I wasn’t a fan of the dessert collection they brought, but wedding cake was there to save the day. I’m not sure when I’ll get a chance to be in Kelowna again, but I would definitely visit Cabana again for a nice meal out. Perfect date or after-work-drinks kind of place!

This is a happening place with a really good menu that is based on the rotisserie chickens constantly turning. The big salads are very nice as well. Hostess and serving staff were some the most beautiful women I have seen in that capacity… not sure this is a criteria for anyone, but couldn’t help noticing.

Arrived for dinner an hour before our reservation, expecting to have some drinks at the bar before being seated. Surprisingly, we were seated right away, which was fabulous! A large projection TV was showing the Olympic games, which I expected, but there was also a live pianist performing in the dining room. He was good, but so loud that by the end of the evening, we were ready to leave just for some peace and quiet. Even without the pianist, the dining room was busy and quite noisy all around. Foodwise, I ordered from the Olympic inspired menu, which had dishes representing different provinces and territories. One of my group had a Quebec tourtière, which was served in a ramekin and burnt on the bottom. She was quite disappointed. I ordered the Nunavut muskox burger, which was 6-inches tall(I am not kidding) and probably had a ½ lb of meat in it. Pretty impressive in terms of size, and flavour was pretty good too, but I just couldn’t finish it. The regular menu looked pretty good, though nothing jumped out as being particularly imaginative; fairly standard fare. Portions are a good size and the drinks are satisfying, though again, not really imaginative. If I had to choose between Earls/Milestones and Cabana, I think I’ll go for Cabana for that(minor) step up.
