This is a tiny little place that is easily missed behind the behemoth Turtle Jacks and Fionn McCools. I was in there at about 8PM on a Tuesday and I was the only customer, which is a bit scary. It was whisper quiet and the husband and wife proprietors are really the only thing I could hear. I ordered an Asahi, a seaweed salad, and some sushi(just fish and rice, no rolls). I told the waitress«no eel» since I don’t like it(I like to make things clear when ordering a chef’s choice sushi plate…) and she was surprised, but complied. There was a nice selection of fish and it was all quite fresh, though one of the fishes was a little *too* cold and semi-frozen inside. It happens, not the end of the world. Presentation was very nice and the rice was perfect, despite the lack of customers. The seaweed salad was great, and a perfect portion. I was relieved to see somebody come in and order take out, as it can’t be possible to keep a restaurant open with so few customers. I’ll go back as the food was quite good and the owners seem like a very nice couple. Pricing is reasonable.

Fairly expensive for the food they provide. Service is so so. Only got drinks when asked. Sashimi is sliced too thick, feels like you are eating raw fish fillet than sashimi.

I usually go there for their Udon soup. It is really good. The owners are really nice people!

I like this restaurant, it is cozy, never crowded, and the food is good. Good place to have a quiet dinner. I like their eel donbury, would rate it 5 out of 5. Sushi is 4 out of 5.

This is a little restaurant in the Deer Ridge Centre — hidden and tucked away, so it can be difficult to find. Just a few doors down from Pita Factory. I saw this place last year when I would go to Pita Factory, but wasn’t in the mood for it, so I chose not to go in — until this year. I’ve only been once so take this review with a grain of salt. After speaking with the owners, they opened this place last year. There are only about 6 tables which hold 4 people. Two of those tables are in one room, so if you have 8 people in a partie, I’m sure you could get that mini-room reserved for your party. It would be nice and intimate.(It’s not a big room, so please don’t expect that!) There were also 2 tables which seat 2, if I recall correctly. I ordered the DYNAMITEROLL for about $ 6.95 — I think. And a crab roll for $ 3.95. DYNAMITEROLL — The dynamite roll was pretty reasonably priced. It came with deep fried shrimp, cucumber, and some other good stuff! It was crunchy and flavorful. It didn’t taste FRESH(i.e. «deep fried to order»), but it was still good. I can’t really complain because I was only paying $ 6.95CAD, right? CRABROLL — I don’t know what I was expecting for $ 3.95, but the crab roll only had imitation crab and some really tiny/thin cucumber. That was it. For $ 3.95, I guess that pays for the ingredients, time saved for me to make it. I will get something else next time. All in all, a reasonably priced joint. *****THEYHAVENON-SUSHI foods. Their name sort of threw me off. They had Udon, Don-kat-su(deep fried pork cutlets; they also have chicken, I think), and Don-buri(rice bowls with whatever meat is selected), and other meats such as Chicken Teriyaki. I’m interested in trying their non-sushi dishes, so I may try to go back sometime this month.
