Forget the food, look out the window! Get there at 1130am like we did and pick your view of snow-capped mountains and winter wonderland. I’m giving 5-stars for combined ambience, food, and service excellence. As for the food, short rib main was small but delicious – mains will be small unless you choose a sandwich and fries. Drinks were a standout. Try the Canadian coffee(easy on the syrup) or cranberry ginger fizz. Both well-balanced drinks with nicely blended flavours enhanced by boozy liquor.

This is a great place for having lunch or dinner and enjoying an amazing view from Lake Louise. The sandwiches in this place are very good, specially the lobster and shrimp croissant sandwich. It even better if it is ordered with sweet potato fries or their delicious salad. I also tried short ribs with potatoes. It comes in small portion, so if you are hungry, you may need to order a starter as well or a different dish. But the short ribs dish is delicious and the meet is so tender! Besides that, staff are great and the restaurant itself is so cozy! Just removed 1 star because of the price for some dishes.

Loved the view, the décor, and the service pleasant. Portions were a bit curious as our starter was double the size of our main. Tuna salad was great and much bigger than anticipated. The braised beef was disappointing, while it tasted great it was quite small in proportion to the tuna. Felt like a warning would of been appreciated. Also mentioned a dairy allergy while asking about the curry lamb and decided to go with the braised beef instead only to have a corn purée with dairy in it.

What a View but what a Let Down… It was mid week in October so we decided to make the trip to the Châteaux for lunch. When we arrived the only thing open was the«Lake View Lounge» a very nice atmosphere, exactly what you come to expect at such a property. But that was the end of it, as service was probably the worst we have had in some time, especially at a Fairmont property where service is supposed to be exceptional. We were greeted late after being sat in the far end of the room, sitting beside a messy waiter station with piled baskets of old bread etc., when the server did arrive her mannerisms were like that I would come to expect at being served at Wild Bills in Banff, which is fine because its Wild Bills not the Fairmont. We ordered wine, cocktails, appetizers and Lunch mains. The food was fine but not exceptional, the artisan breads were day old and buns from a box and they forget the duck confit on my wife’s Agnolotti. We told our server and she said«right away» but she failed miserably again in bringing it to us before my wife was done her meal, she(my wife) even stopped eating for 10 minutes thinking the sever was just around the corner, but not to be true and zero apologies. I hate to sound so conceited in a review, but $ 200 later for a two hour Lunch with a truly inferior and disappointing experience in an exceptional landmark Hotel, Fairmont what the hell happened?

We stayed at the Fairmont Château for a week recently while on our honeymoon. Out of all the restaurants in the Château, we ate at the Lakeview Lounge most often for dinner. The perks: the staff is all very friendly. We were treated with so much kindness every time we were there. Our wait staff was very attentive, and even offered to go off menu for us if we had special requests. We received complimentary champagne and desserts for our celebration, and rarely had to want for anything while dining. The only time service was a tad questionable was when we sat on the patio during the dinner rush. We had to wait a bit to order, but the restaurant comped our drinks as an apology(without us even saying anything). The pitfalls: The menu selection is small. If you were to go every night, you may get tired of the options. Also, things can get pricey. If you’re starving and order quite a bit of food/drink, you could have over a $ 100 bill easily. However, the portions are sizeable. We ordered a flatbread and truffle fries to share, and we were so full by the end of our meal. Less than $ 20/pp for that approach. In my opinion, the perks greatly outweigh any pitfalls that. Add to that a comfortable setting with an outstanding view, and you can’t really go wrong. A meal here is very enjoyable.

Dinner with a view. Ask for a table by the window. It’s pricey but nicer than then 24 hr café. We had the tacos and Caesar salad. Service was a little slow, but since my kids were so patient and well behaved they got their dessert for FREE.

I’ll give the Fairmont credit as a brand… they know how to do real estate. But food? Forget it. This was just plain bad. Actually it was embarrassing. I ordered the ravioli and was hungry so I asked to «add chicken». The chicken that came out was the same«chicken» on my wife’s chicken ciabatta sandwich. It actually wasn’t real chicken, but«mystery meat». The Fairmont should be embarrassed for the prices they charge for such poor quality food. If you’re going to jack up the prices, at least make the food decent(see: Four Seasons). Wouldn’t go back. The only reason I didn’t give it one star was that our watiress Jordyn was very nice.

We had $ 10 hot chocolates, Bison Sandwiches for $ 20 and French onion soup for $ 12. The view from the lounge was seriously wintery white wonderful. Food was good considering we were frozen miles from anywhere. Must try the bison sandwich if you are new to Canada. Don’t forget the snow tires. Also try the 12 km return walk from the Fairmont hotel to the 6 Glacier plains to get your appetite up. Snow shoes make it easy but try it tough with just hiking boots. Or take the horse sleigh short cut.

Everything we had here was just wonderful and the view was AMAZING! One of my companions had the shrimp and lobster roll which she said was delightful. I had the bison reuben which was amazing and a different take on the classic. The service was amazing, when my son’s dish came late and there was confusion in the kitchen it was on the house. A little pricy but worth it, especially for the view.
