Old Yale Bistro

I had no idea this restaurant has been around for years. I discovered it by accident back in April when I chose it for a birthday dinner. I was very impressed with the service and the food. The prices are not bad for a number of items. They are a bit pricey for some specialty items but then again… that happens with specialty items! :-).
We have just returned from our 2^nd visit to The Old Yale Bistro. This time we went with my 80 year old parents. My mother is celiac and the server was very attentive to her needs. He knew his menu very well and was able to give detailed recommendations. I think that the server is also the owner, and may also be the cook. I do know that he prepares all the desserts himself!
Give the Old Yale Bistro a try. I am sure you will want to return again and again. We sure do! :-)

So many local friends have told me to head to the Old Yale for dinner, I finally got the chance to take my family here last night.
We got in quite early, and were there for a while and were the only customers… the friendly and accommodating owner/​waiter/​chef took very good care of us.
Entrees were in two categories. Totally reasonable $ 13 to $ 15 range and another set of fancier food for $ 23 to $ 25. My kids wanted burgers, which aren’t normally on the dinner menu, but Mr. Nice Man did some up for them anyway, and did fries especially for us. These burgers were OUTSTANDING! Holy cow for a place that is more known for schnitzel and chicken medallions, they do a damned fine burger.
My spinach and chicken salad was really nice, and my husband’s schnitzel was very good…
Dinner for four was $ 48 because we didn’t go for the higher end dishes, so we were pleased.
This place has about 12 tables, and smells a bit like a little old lady’s house, but not in a bad way. It is about the food here, and it doesn’t fall short.

This is a hidden gem in Langley. Most people who have lived here their entire life and passed it hundreds of times have never had the pleasure of enjoying a meal.
This is a quiet spot with fantastic food. Great spot for taking grandparents.
