Another go to place for the lovely K and I, but I also eat here alone a fair bit of K is busy doing other things. The service is always fast, the food very consistent and plenty of it for the price. I wish I could say that I can tell you all about the menu offerings, but I always have the same thing here. It’s lunch and a Bento box«B» for me. Under ten bucks, six pieces of sushi, some tempura with two prawns, salad, rice, some chicken and veggies, miso soup, tea and to top it off a ball of battered and deep fried ice cream! What more could you ask for. The décor was recently updated and it is cozy and clean, if somewhat spartan in nature. If you want good, fast and well priced Japanese I would heartily recommend this to you.

My boyfriend is insisting I give this place 1-star, but if he wants to do that then he can sign on and give it 1-star haha. I’m only giving it 2-stars because my meal came with complimentary miso and the waitress was nice. That’s it! Otherwise, the food was so disappointing. We were over in Langley and hungry, and love Japanese, so we decided to try the place. Mistake! I wish I had crossed the street and gone to Dairy Queen. I ordered Oyakodon, and was given some kind of chicken teriyaki/stir fry mess. What I expect from Oyakodon, which I’ve had at many places, is chicken, egg, rice, maybe some leek/green peppers, and a stock or broth to put over-top/already in it. I love it and it’s like a comfort food for me. What I got was chicken teriyaki? It was thick with teriyaki sauce, which I wasn’t in the mood for — which is why I didn’t order it – and so I was immediately disappointed. On top of that was a bunch of(what I’m assuming were) frozen vegetables, which I didn’t mind because I like vegetables, it’s just not what I was expecting/thought I had ordered. I was going to tell her that she gave me the wrong meal, but the waitress gave it to me saying«here’s your Oyakodon», so I assumed that’s just what Oyakodon is at this place. Sad face. So I ate it despite not liking the teriyaki too much, and after a while I noticed some of my chicken pieces were pinker than I’d expect or want to eat. I showed my boyfriend, and he told me not to eat it, so at that point I just had a bowl of rice and teriyaki. We’re usually polite even if we’re dissatisfied by a restaurant, so I didn’t show it to the woman because my meal was already half gone, and really I just wanted to get out of there. My boyfriend’s meal was more disappointing(according to him). He ordered a beef bowl of some kind, and the meat was so chewy that he didn’t want to eat it. So he, too, mainly stuck to eating the rice portion of the meal. We basically went there to eat teriyaki on rice for $ 9. So much disappoint! I wouldn’t recommend this place, and my boyfriend and I aren’t going to go again. I only had the one meal, though, so it’s unfair of me to say NEVERGOHERE. But the clincher for me is: when I got home, I was sick. I don’t have faith in a restaurant that makes me sick. Usually Japanese isn’t hard on my stomach, which is one of the reasons that’s what we get when we go out for food, but as we were crossing the bridge to go back home my stomach felt awful. So really, this is a 1-star review, but I’d consider a 1-star to be a place with no redeeming qualities — and the two things I said above were nice. The waitress, the free miso; otherwise — avoid.

Used to eat here a couple times a month and the sushi was ok. Nothing amazing but it satisfied my hunger when I forgot my lunch at work. They recently renovated and new owners/management took over in the last week or so. Ordered take out Monday at 6pm. Dynamite roll, deep fried California roll, yam tempura roll NO sesame seeds and Wild avocado roll NO sesame seeds. I arrive to pick up my food and the lady tells me she put sesame seeds on it all, so I said that isn’t what I wanted, she said ‘oh well’ so I explain I’m intolerant to sesame seeds and would rather not have and she didn’t say anything. Fine, I guess I’ll scrape then off I exclaim. So I’m paying and didn’t tip(obviously) and she scoffs at me. I then asked for extra soya sauce and she just threw 1 packet on the counter and walks into the back. Ummmm okay. So at this point I am pretty upset and already decided I will never return here. Then I get home to enjoy my sushi with my partner and I get one bit into the yam tempura roll and there’s a ROCK yes a ROCK in it. I almost broke my tooth! I called to complain but was ignored and hung up on. I will never return again and will be telling my friends and family to never eat here again. I’m absolutely appalled at the customer service here. I hope this place goes under. So many better sushi restaurants around town.

My husband and I go here about once a week — there’s a ton of sushi places in Langley, but after years of trying the majority of them we’ve settled on being regulars at Seh-Mi. The décor is not super inviting so it’s not really a date-night kind of place, but if you want good sashimi we haven’t found better. As a perk, the kitchen often gives us a complimentary appetizer so that we can try out new dishes, as well as giving free desserts(basically a deep fried cream puff) when they’re not too busy. Miso soup and green tea are free with any order too. I hesitate to recommend it because we don’t want it to become super busy, but we also want them to stay in business for a long time so: highly recommended.

This place is amazing! I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid even when they were at their old location and the quality of the food here has maintained a very high calibre! The fish, especially the wild sockeye salmon that they serve, is extremely fresh and delicious! Recommendations: Bento Box B for lunch, salmon combo(although a little pricey), salmon sashimi, dragon roll, and prawn tempura.

This place is awesome! One of the best I’ve been to! The staff are so nice and always make sure that everything is to your liking. The food comes out hot and fresh but above all QUICKLY! They let you pick wherever you want to sit! During the FIFA, the staff was cheering with us and having fun all while serving us in a respectable manner. At the end of the meal we always get complimentary frozen cream puff balls! Prices are not bad at all considering the quantity and quality of the food! Only sucky thing is the sex shop right beside it, but oh well can’t do a whole lot about that… oh and the parking can be a problem during peak hours! KEEPITUPGUYS

This is one of my favourite sushi places in Metro Vancouver. The service is always fast and friendly. It’s family owned and operated. The lunch boxes are all near the $ 10 range. You get very generous portions. You may think«I don’t want’s to eat sushi next to a sex store» but you’ll find nothing but wholesome goodness inside. This is the«new» location. The old one was across from Army Navy in a tiny little dump that was Mr. Hamburger in the past. Making the move was a great choice for them. Every table is a booth which can sit 4 comfortably. On the left side is a large table with dividers which expands for larger parties. If you love tempura, try the tempura dinner box. Although you will pass out after from so much fried heaven. Every time I show up with a large party the owner always gives us a dish on the house to try. Last time it was a tray with 12 fried gyoza. On a previous visit we received spicy tuna bites.

We dine here often, as this is our favourite Sushi spot. Prompt service, excellent quality food and friendly staff. They give you complimentary green tea & miso soup when you dine in and their teriyaki sauce is delicious. (Don’t let the bad reviews deter you — they actually really surprised me, as I have had some awful experiences – but never at Seh-Mi.)

Yikes, reading through the other reviews I feel like I’m standing alone when I say that I love this place. The service has always been prompt for us and our tables have always been clean and ready when we walk in. A few of my favorite rolls are found here. SehMi’s version of a ‘crazy roll’ has my mouth watering just thinking about it. Their spring rolls are crisp and packed with flavor. The staff always seem to know when our cup is empty too. I’ve only had to ask for a refill once. My co-workers and I often make a trip out to Langley just to enjoy their food. When ordering for pick-up we haven’t had a problem yet. Their tempura is a little too battered and sometimes we have to request extra dipping sauce because they do tend to give out smaller portions of the dip.

Only sushi restaurant i ever walked out of. Left half my meal on my plate. Gummy rice. Too MUCH rice around rolls and i seemed to be disturbing the servers visiting time. With a plethora of sushi in Langley and 1 or 2 stellar places to choose from, I don’t know how they’re in business.

Okay sushi. Service was great. Nothing special about this place. I have the feeling that in the great Vancouver area, this is typical of the smaller sushi places. @Michael Y. — I am not sure that Damiko or Ninja is actually better, they seem to be all 3 stars with mediocre sushi.

Cheap but horrible quality, taste, and portion size. This is the worst Japanese restaurant in Langley. Go to Damiko or Ninja instead!
