The owner Twee is an awesome hostess who has this restaurant running like clockwork. Beautifully designed, great interior with several rooms and super cool washrooms. Atmosphere is really nice and comfortable.
The food is really good quality and reasonably priced. Their pad thai is really good, best in the city. I have tried 6 or 8 thongs on the menue and everyone has been fantastic.
You will enjoy this restaurant. Go.

On a subsequent visit, the service was much quicker and they were not as understaffed. The food was decent so I give them 3 stars.

Vermecili chicken. I am a chef. This Chicken was disgusting. Not chicken. Wouldn’t even give it to my dog.

This restaurant has three locations here in London and they are all great, but this location is by far the nicest! The visual atmosphere created here is modern and has numerous oriental accents. Of course, a restaurant doesn’t get four stars just for looks. The food is consistently great, serving sizes are generous, the prices are good, and it is hard to leave unsatisfied. My only complaint, and the reason it doesn’t get five stars is that the hot milk bubble tea seemed quite low quality. We had numerous appetizers, several dishes including phở and 5 spice beef brisket soup and they were all excellent. The serving staff were all helpful, energetic and quick. I strongly recommend trying Ben Thanh if you haven’t yet.

Coming from someone who loves to eat, lived in Toronto and grew up in a restaurant. This place is a disappointment. I ordered beef satay skewers, seafood laksa and pad thai. Beef was extremely thin, which resulted in dry, chewy and over cooked meat. The peanut sauce was nothing spectacular.
Pad thai didn’t have nuts (nbd) and was dry (aka they left it in the kitchen and it was cold). Still well cooked though, it came with 5 other dishes so it probably first and they just waited so they didn’t have to make a second trip.
The laksa on the other hand was the worst laksa i have ever had. It was a cheap imitation of laksa as the soup was sour and unpalatable. Barely any toppings and the soup was just tom yum with coconut. ALSO they only had one type of noodle where laksa is suppose to have two types.
The waitresses were friendly but poorly trained. Not going to come here again.

My husband & I went to Ben Thanh on Fanshawe Park Rd. on Saturday (I usually dine at the one on York Street, but was in the Fanshawe Park Rd. area). Walked in around 5pm and there was no hostess there to greet us. After close to 10 mins of standing around, I decided to walk around and noticed not even half the tables were full. Finally the hostess decided to make an appearance and took us to our table.
Normally, your waitress/​waiter will come by within a few moments of being seated — not in this case. We waited another 15 minutes (no one came by offering us drinks or anything), by that time we already knew what we wanted to order. I was super annoyed so I got up and asked the hostess if she can send our server over since we were ready to order and had not even been greeted yet.
Moments later, she arrives and takes our orders. Waited another 25 minutes before our apps even arrived. At this point, there are people seated behind me, who I can overhear venting their frustrations over the lack of service and how they’ve already been waiting 20 mins for their apps. Apps were delicious, but my dinner — not so much. I ordered the mango chicken which I have never had before. There was WAY too much watery sauce, it didn’t look appetizing at all, and it really didn’t taste the greatest. I basically only ate the veggies that were swimming around cuz I was not a fan of the watery chicken.
Waitress never came by to ask how the food was or anything. Got the $ 60 bill, left a $ 5 tip which I still think is too much for the shitty service we received.
Will NEVER dine at this Ben Thanh again!

The food here wasn’t the problem, it was the service. I love the food at benh thanh and the fact that they had a menu of specialty alcoholic drinks got me super excited. I’ve been to this location before when it was mein street and it’s really nice inside. In comparison to the other benh thanh locations, this one just feels more upscale. The host led us to our table and was super friendly. Unfortunately, it took a good ten minutes before we were asked if we wanted to order anything and one of our drinks sat at the bar for another ten minutes after it was made. The food came out and it wasn’t as piping hot as I was used to from benh thanh. Maybe this location should just be named «and just leaves it there for ten extra minutes»

Just walked out of this place. Was asked to sit at the bar to wait for our table after waiting 5 minutes in the lobby with no hostess. Didn’t even get asked if we wanted anything at the bar. Wait ten minutes for a table and get seated then no drink or even a server for 15 minutes before walking out. Awful.

This location has a much nicer décor that their other two locations. Unfortunately we were seated on the bar side and the blender was going non-​stop, making conversation difficult. The food was decent, but a bit over-​priced. My dining companion ordered the deluxe pad thai, but only got chicken (we made sure that the correct price was charged before the bill came). All in all, there are better options out there for Vietnamese or Pad Thai.

What a great restaurant in the north! So glad it’s here! Try their hot and sour soup — it is amazing!!!

This is the second time i have been to this branch of this restaurant. Can’t say much about any of the other locations because i have never tried them and never will
This is the WORST oriental food i have ever had in my entire life! Great décor but AWFUL, dare i say downright GROSS cuisine!
The first time was just before christmas and they were very busy so i thought i said i would give them another chance! Why oh why did i waste my time, effort and money?!
I asked for spicy food… there was not even SALT in the food much more for some spice! Pure disgusting!!! I suspect there is no chef in there… just people to chop things and throw them into sauce from a bottle.
Please don’t waste your time or money going to this establishment! It is nasty food!!!
Again, i have no idea what other branches of this restaurant are like but don’t even want to know.
