We stopped here while visiting Lunenburg on vacation. The food was great. We had a s’mores latte, a chocolate haystack and a caramel hazelnut triangle. The pastries were really good, as was the latte. However, I’m giving this place 3 stars because when we sat down at a table to wait for the latte I looked up and noticed 7 or 8 flies buzzing around the ceiling. Now, I realize this is a nature filled part of Canada and I could get over a bug or 2 as people open the doors to get in and out of the café, but 7 or 8 flies is a lot and really just ruined the experience for me. I don’t know if the staff(who were very nice by the way) didn’t notice the flies or were trying to pretend they weren’t there so we wouldn’t notice, but either way I just wanted to eat my pastries and get out of there because it was grossing me out. Other then that, it’s a cute little place with a great menu.

I have been here a few times and will likely return but only because of the food. The food and deserts are great and reasonable priced but as Buffy said, they could be friendlier. As I sit here drinking my coffee I have realized a trend. It seems if you are a regular/local then there is a friendliness but I will say every time I have come in(4⁄5 times over 4 months), I have not been warmly greeted or even a normal interaction, it’s like placing my order is a bother to her. I even went back to ask for a fork and was passed one without a word or smile.

I love Lunenburg, so I basically arrive in a state of bliss every time I drive in. That being said, as soon as I entered Kate’s Sweet indulgence I felt even more love for the quaint town. They have a small, but still spacious feeling, café that offers so many variations of coffee and tea beverages and more delicious sweet treats than you could imagine! Although they have the traditional selections they also have many Gluten Free options, that, even if gluten is your friend, look delish! The caramel-ly, chocolate square thing I had(I basically pointed and drooled for them to select it) was unreal and has left an imprint on my heart since. They have a «homemade feel» but better. They also have free Wi-Fi for work or school or anything you may need, which is a nice and unexpected touch in a smaller town.(Not that I recommend doing anything but taking in the scene in Lunenburg, but sometimes it is unavoidable!) If you are visiting and need a little rest or snack I fully recommend popping in and enjoying some of their fab treats!

The service was fast and friendly. We got two sandwiches to go as we were taking a whale watching trip. I had the Ham and provolone and it was amazing. They used real ham not the processed slice stuff. As we were on the boat eating our yummy snack everyone on board was wishing they had one too.

Yummy!!! The carrot cake was so delicious and fresh! The skor brownie rich and decadent, and the lemon bar tart and tasty! I would have loved to try even more! Loved the small little bakery’s atmosphere too, perfect for a cup of coffee and a treat!

For all you coffee lovers from the city, this is the place you want to go to when in Lunenburg! It’s the only one with everything I’d be looking for — Good enough WIFI, power for your laptop, great for breakfast and lunch but not trying to be evening dining, and pretty good staff. Price — Very affordable. Many restaurants in Lunenburg charge tourist prices of $ 12 and up even for lunch. Many food items, including their Chicken Wrap which is amazing, are under $ 10! And the quality and size is fantastic! Atmosphere — laid back, clean, fun and inviting. Drinks — Really good. Although if you ask for a Matcha Green tea, you’ll get it with a ton of milk. I’m used to the straight matcha and water. Not sure what the norm is, but watch out there. The coffee is fantastic! Washrooms — Very clean and environmentally friendly. Conclusion: Kate’s Sweet Indulgence isn’t trying to be a coffee shop and something else like some other places in this quaint small town. It is a coffee shop and that’s it. They don’t sell local nic-nacs or do evening dining. They sell sweets, coffee and also cakes. I guess that’s their unique thing. For the Gluten free fans, it’s also a great place to go. There is plenty of seating and you are on one of the main streets right downtown. Check it out!

Not all coffee shops are made equal and this place is the bomb. Tons of sweet treats all made in house– a variety of fancy cakes, cookies and even blueberry maple dripped scones. On a hot summer day a large coffee iced coffee is three bucks and you really can’t go wrong. They even do a takeaway boxed lunch which includes a drink, sammy, salad and dessert. They have wifi with the cutest password ever. Definitely the place to go in Lunenburg when you need some caffeine and a sweet treat.

Love this place! Excellent food, heavenly sweets, and they didn’t kick me out for using their wifi for a few hours(unlike another café very close by). Go here, and have a ball in Lunenburg!

Another great place to grab a coffee and a treat! I don’t drink coffee so i can’t say for sure how the coffee here measures up. But my friends tell me it’s top notch! I usually grab a tea or hot chocolate. On occasion I’ve indulged in a little treat as well. The display cases are so tempting with lots of muffins and cakes and pastries. Everything is made right there in the shop. I haven’t had lunch, but they do also make sandwiches and quiches for a savory snack, if that’s what you are craving. I was really impressed by the recycling efforts here and their commitment to using local, fresh ingredients in all there food. Also, the coffees and teas are organic and fair trade! Thumbs up for that! Free wifi as well!
