Was looking for a particular chair at Ethan Allen… Browsed the store for at least 20 min then attended the front desk to ask for service and info on the chair… A sales person appeared and provided me with her card and a flyer… I decided the next week to go ahead and purchase the chair… my experience was frustrating as I attended the store on 3 separate occasions to order the chair and no one on site would assist me in ordering … Why… Because they operate on commission and the person I originally spoke with was the only person I could order thru… I understand their model of personalized, commission based sales but I found the overall experience to be very poor service as there’s absolutely no team approach to any purchases you make here… And you’ve gotta have a healthy wallet as a fake plant can cost you upwards of $ 700 bucks. I was told I should have called ahead of time… Advice… make an appointment to go shopping at Ethan Allen Furniture.

Long story short, went here with sister-in-law as she wanted to buy a couch she’d seen on their site. And from what I know, you need to spend more than a few thousand to get a couch out the doors of this store and into your home. That’s ok, as my sis-in-law is a doctor and has enough cheddah to do so. If only sales staff would speak to us. We were a little younger than the other shoppers there, but that shouldn’t make a difference. Even the girl at the front desk wouldn’t look at us. After the SECOND older couple that came after us was served, we’d had enough and left. Only then did staff seem interested in helping us. How much commission do you make on a $ 0 purchase, by the way?
