Boucherie An-Nasr

This place is awesome! It’s a cute halal sandwich shop with fresh made to order sandwiches. Over the wknd they have more deli meats but during the week they have some staple sandwiches, like lamb, chicken, etc. We were shopping around for cheese at the local farmer’s market lol on a rainy afternoon when I found out we were really close to boucherie an-​nasr and I had read about it on Unilocal and wanted to try it. As we got rained on walking up and down the road trying to look for this place, I was about to give up, but so glad I didn’t!!! We had the lamb sandwich and poutine with sausage and they were both so worth the treck. Highly recommend both these dishes! The lamb in the sandwich was tender and thinly sliced on a toasted, soft baguette. I got tomatoes, green olives, mayo and hot sauce on my sandwich. All the flavors came together so well. With poutine being a Montréal staple, it was awesome that this place offered halal poutine since most of the gravies on poutine have chicken stock. This is the best comfort food! The sausage was tender and flavorful. All the meats and breads are really fresh. It’s the perfect, quaint halal boucherie with all the ingredients to a french café. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem in montreal! I haven’t tried anything like this place in America; very euro sandwich and yummy french bread and tasty halal cuts of meat.

i don’t know how to describe this place as its more of a restaurant than a butchery. at least, i didn’t see any butchering being done. maybe on weekends?
its a halal sandwich shop that offers kafka, merguez, lamb and chicken sandwiches as well as poutine, french fries and moroccan tea.
the sandwiches (in baguette form) are quite tasty. you get a choice of condiments (mayo, mustard, ketchup, hot sauce) as well as toppings (lettuce, tomato, green olives, onions) then the sandwich goes in the press for that crispy exterior.
the french fries are frites. thin, long and crispy. didn’t tried them as i wasn’t looking to eat more carbs.
service is decent enough. not a long wait.
place seems to be popular enough even though it’s stuck between 2 great places.
price is cheap compared to other shops around

9 months later, I came back again, and had the lamb sandwich. It was still the awesome incredibleness that I remembered the first time around. And of course, I didn’t re-​read my previous review and forgot to ask for more hot sauce.
